My page has a 302 redirect and I don't know how to get rid of it!
-
I use Internet Officer tool to see the 302 redirect but I check the redirects in the CPanel and there are none. In the .htaccess there are none either. I don't know where else to look
The url is http://servicioshosting.com
Can you guys help me? I can't set up a campaign because Google can't crawl the website. I can't setup the Facebook OpenGraph because of the redirect.
-
I had this problem exactly and it turns out it was an index file on the server for the old page.
It was the only temporary redirect on the site so it was driving me mad and I wanted rid of it! FTP onto the server and check the folder for the old page which will likely contain an index file. the 302 was in there for us.
This is an old question but posting this for people in future.

If you're sure that the files on mamp and what's on the server are the same, then perhaps your hosting company is doing something or there's something in the config of the web server.
Sorry Vanessa, that's as much as I can help with - guess you need to find someone who knows whmcs
Good luck, would be good to know how it works out and what the solution is.
-
It didn't work
Something strange: I have the site running locally in my computer with MAMP. When I check the HTTP response in my local website it doesn't have the redirect, it has an OK 200 code.Could this mean it's a server issue? And if so, where do I check?
-
Sorry, on the edge of my knowledge, perhaps try removing those lines and seeing the effect? (I'd try removing them one at a time starting with the second one).
-
Yes, I checked and whenever there is a cookie set the 302 redirect disappears. If I delete the cookies it comes back. The system I use for the website template is the WHMCS, there is a file for setting the cookie for affiliates links (aff.php), and at the end there is this:
header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
header("Location: ".$CONFIG["Domain"]);
-
I don't think that's it - that's a 301 redirect and the issue you reported is a 302.
If you see the same issue I do with cookies affecting the result, then I'd suggest that is a clue - as far as I know htaccess redirects don't make use of cookies.
-
Ok, I'm looking. I also check the .htaccess again. Could this be the redirect:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^servicioshosting.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.servicioshosting.com$
RewriteRule ^whmcs/?$ "http://www.servicioshosting.com/clientarea.php" [R=301,L]
I keep erasing the first two lines and they keep coming back when I check back the .htaccess,
-
IT could be an on-page redirect . Open up your index file equivalent and look for something like
Header( "Location:
http://servicioshosting.com/" );
-
I get this using httpfox.
302 Redirect to: / http://servicioshosting.com/
I also see the redirect on https://www.servicioshosting.com/index.php when I first switched to English language from the home page. Then when reloading https://www.servicioshosting.com/index.php there was no 302.
I also noticed that when I deleted servicioshosting.com cookies and reloaded https://www.servicioshosting.com/index.php the 302 was back.
So I suspect it is something to do with the way the CMS is using cookies, since crawlers don't set cookies they get the 302.
I guess you'll need to dig into the CMS/talk to a developer. Good luck!

Redirection
Hi I used to have an online shop at https://shop.domain.co.uk. I have since done a new website and and want to divert all traffic to https://domain.co.uk/shoppage. The old shop was a subdomain but the new site has a shop on the normal domain. In Moz I am getting a lot of errors with missing descriptions and URL too long. so for example one of the urls <dl class="crawl-page-details-list"> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">https://shop.domain.co.uk/product-category/great-merchandise/?product_order=desc are like this. I would like to redirect them all to the new shop page. </dd> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">The missing descriptions are all similar. </dd> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">Is there a way I can redirect all these issues without doing them manually?</dd> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">Thanks </dd> </dl>

Why does a word show as 'Google en-US Mobile Friendly' = FALSE when it also shows that it ranks 3 on mobile?
I pulled a recent report for all words I'm tracking locally and it states that a specific term ranks #4 on desktop and #3 on mobile. But in separate columns, specifically "Google en-US Mobile Friendly" that same terms shows as 'FALSE'. Any idea what this means? Thanks!

Duplicate pages coming from links from the login page - what should we do about them?
This is a follow on to an earlier question which was well answered by Dirk Ceuppens regarding abnormal crawl issues. We are seeing that the issues relating to Duplicate Pages are coming from links from the login page which shows information about where the user was redirected from. For example, if the visitor is not logged on and wishes to wish-list an item, they will be redirected to the login page, with the item code and intended action in the url; which can then continue on to the desired page once logged on. The MOZ crawler is seeing these pages as having Duplicated Content whilst they are all the same apart from a piece of information in the URL. Should we be blocking these duplications? Are they a risk to us? What should we be doing? Many thanks, Sarah

Pages with Temporary Redirects on pages that don't exist!
Hi There Another obvious question to some I hope. I ran my first report using the Moz crawler and I have a bunch of pages with temporary redirects as a medium level issue showing up. Trouble is the pages don't exist so they are being redirected to my custom 404 page. So for example I have a URL in the report being called up from lord only knows where!: www.domain.com/pdf/home.aspx This doesn't exist, I have only 1 home.aspx page and it's in the root directory! but it is giving a temp redirect to my 404 page as I would expect but that then leads to a MOZ error as outlined. So basically you could randomize any url up and it would give this error so I am trying to work out how I deal with it before Google starts to notice or before a competitor starts to throw all kinds at my site generating these errors. Any steering on this would be much appreciated!

On Page Analysis and Grading
I received an email that my on page analysis for my campaigns were completed. But when I click on the link there are no grades there. What does that mean? Another question on this topic....when your campaign is graded are pages graded on all the keywords in the campaign or is each keyword graded invidividually? Thanks!

Why isn't my Domain Authority much higher than my competitors'?
Looking at the Competitive Link Analysis report shows my domain outperforming my competitors on Domain MozRank, Domain MozTrust, total links, linking root domains, followed linking root domains, and linking c-blocks. But Domain Authority scores are very similar across all four sites with one competitor actually scoring higher than my domain. How should I unpick this result? I'm assuming that there must a problem with my link profile. Is that a valid assumption? Thanks, Tom fc7Ez.png
