How do you find Affiliate Links on your site that have not been nofollowed?
-
We've just signed up to an affiliate scheme because we were sending links to them because we thought their product was valuable to our users. So we now have to go through and nofollow all of these links over 100's of pages.
Is there any way that do a crawl of the site to identify all links to a particular site and tell me what page they are on and whether they are nofollow/follow?

Actually, screamingfrog should take care of it for you via the custom spider configuration. If you select "custom" under the "configuration" tab, you can drop in the html for the links you are looking for and it will give you a report with what pages it finds that code on.
For example, have screammingfrog search for the following snippet of code and it would find nofollow links pointing at mysite.com:
rel="nofollow" href="http://mysite.com

Hi there,
There's a few options for this outside of Screaming Frog, but they depend on how your site is developed.
My first thought would be to write a small script that looks for instances of this domain and checks if the link is nofollow, if not it inserts a nofollow tag. Depending on how your site is coded this could be risky, but I think you could do something nifty in PHP if you know the site and the language well. This is probably a quick-fix but not a massively sustainable solution as you'd be running a function each time - might get a bit laggy? It'd allow you to provide a quick-fix to the issue while you work on it separately, depending on how your site is developed.
An alternative you could do, if you use a system such as Wordpress would be to Export an RSS feed of content and use Notepad++'s regex find and bookmarking to highlight all instances of this domain within your page content where you don't use nofollow and replace with nofollow versions. This is time consuming, but would work. Also relies on Notepad++ not dying due to the size of the RSS feed!
Another alternative would be to use OSE and create an advanced report, which looks at only Follow links that come from your root domain and point to the affiliate domain in question. This method relies on Moz crawling your links and finding them - Might be tricky if those links are new.
You could also use Xenu to find only external links pointing out to that domain from your website and go through them manually. But that's not much fun either.
Hope there's something there that can be gleaned or used!

I am not sure if there is any link but I guess if you run screaming frog that will tell you how many of links that are going out contain follow and no follow tag but again for that you actually have to go URL by URL so this will not really going to cut any of your time.
I would love to hear from any other person in the community who is either using this kind of tool or know this kind of tool exist.

Spent months creating links but Webmasters not picking it up
Hey Guys, I've been working on Blast My Deals.com an affiliate site which i have an issue hoping you guys can help with. For the past year and a half we created loads of links from multiple domains at-least over 700+ which Webmasters did pick up since then we've created even more links however when we go in to our Search Console "Links to your site" it shows 214 domains. It seems like our old links are being removed and our new links aren't being added. All the links we created have an average of DA40+ For the past 2 weeks ive noticed a significant drop in organic traffic and loosing our positions on our main keywords. Our DA has also dropped from 33 to 29 in a matter of 2 weeks. I checked everything including robots.txt, sitemap.xml but Im unable to find the reason for it.

SEO expert for site
Hey guys, I am looking for an SEO expert for my website. I have talked to a couple different people, but since I know nothing about it, it is hard for me to get a good read on whether they know what they are talking about or not. The main keywords are in the sports betting industry, which I believe to be a highly competitive space. Any advice, suggestions, or recommendations? Thank you

Using follow links on client and resellers site
Hi, i have a backup software product that I sell to business. I would like to create a badge that says something like "powered by x backups". This would be an image with a href url pointing back to my company site. I would intend to give the client a discount if they were to place the small logo in the footer section of their website. I would also like to offer this to resellers. For example "Authorised reseller of x backups" badge that could be placed on the resellers website. I would like to do this for two reasons: To promote my company to the visitors of the clients website To build link juice Would this be effective in building quality links? It this type of link building allowed by google? If not, how strict are they? Is there any variation of my intended promotion strategy that would be more effective? Thanks

New site setup questions
Working with a law firm with a well-established website that wants to build a separate website for their affiliate title insurance company. Currently, they only mention this company (and list a phone number) on their Real Estate page under Practice Areas. Although the affiliate company doesn't have a website, their location and phone number are listed in tons of local business directories. I'm currently working on a law firm site that was just built, and the process of getting that one listed in all the directories has been time consuming, so I'm guessing this new site will be much easier, since all I'll have to do is claim ownership of the current listings so I can add a link to the new website (and add additional info to make the profile complete). Would I be correct in assuming this will be a much easier link campaign? As for new site setup questions, they will obviously get some strong links coming from the existing law firm site. Should they host this new site on a different server so the SE's give more power to the law firm links? Is there really a value to reserving the new domain for 3+ years right off the bat? Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.
