Why are these internal pages not showing any internal links?
-
If you look at Author profile pages like this one, http://experts.allbusiness.com/author/denise-oberry (THE top contributor on the site with over 82 posts under her belt), or any Author profile page, they show zero internal links or Page Authority. The same goes for most posts for each author on the site.
Author pages should show internal links from every post the author has on the site. And specific posts should also have internal links from categories, etc. Yet they show zero.
The only posts that show internal links and PA are ones that were either syndicated to the root domain's homepage, or syndicated to Fox Small Business. ZERO internal links.
Does anyone know why this is? The root domain does not act this way with Author pages and posts. And I see nothing blocking links or indexing via the robots.txt file or page level nofollow tags.
A real head scratcher for this SEO nerd, that I'm sure someone here will have a really simple answer to.

It is not an issue of OSE not having found those links and pages, I can tell you all that with 1000% certainty. The domain and subdomain have massive authority and therefore would be deeply crawled, and are. Sitemaps are fine too.
-
Like Kingof5 said, OSE doesn't do as large a crawl as many other tools out there. They pride themselves on accuracy not volume.
It looks like a large site, probably with many subdomains. OSE likely just has crawled that page or hasn't in a long time. Might want to take a look at the sitemap, see if those pages/subdomain/link to that sitemap subdomain are contained in it.
-
OSE doesn't have the resources to crawl as much of the web as other services. For a complete backlink picture, check as many sources as you can - OSE, Majestic, AHREFs, Webmaster Tools, etc.
-
That author page, for their Top Contributor, has been there for years! So have her posts. Also, she gets a nice link from the subdomain's homepage. Thus, should be indexed and crawled by OSE by now. Especially with such a huge DA on the root and subdomains. So that is not it. Also, this is happening subdomain wide, across all posts and author profiles.
-
I assume you're using OSE? It looks like rogerbot hasn't crawled the page - which why it doesn't show PA or links.

I am losing 1 point of DA at month? What could it be? I have noticed I have lost 50K (out of 300K) of internal links after a website update, could it be related to that?

Internal linking disaster
Can someone help me understand what my devs have done? The site has thousands of pages but if there's an internal homepage link on all of the pages (click on the logo) shouldn't that count for internal links? Could it be because they are nonfollow? http://goo.gl/0pK5kn I've attached my competitors opensiteexplorer rankings (I'm the 2nd column) .. so despite the face the site is new you can see where I'm getting my ass kicked. Thanks! psRsQtH.png

Issue: Duplicate Page Content > Wordpress Comments Page
Hello Moz Community, I've create a campaign in Moz and received hundreds of errors, regarding "Duplicate Page Content". After some review, I've found that 99% of the errors in the "Duplicate Page Content" report are occurring due to Wordpress creating a new comment page (with the original post detail), if a comment is made on a blog post. The post comment can be displayed on the original blog post, but also viewable on a second URL, created by Wordpress. http://www.Example.com/example-post http://www.Example.com/example-post/comment-page-1 Anyone else experience this issue in Wordpress or this same type of report in Moz? Thanks for your help!

Why are the bots still picking up so many links on our page despite us adding nofollow?
We have been working to reduce our on-page links issue. On a particular type of page the problem arose because we automatically link out to relevant content. When we added nofollows to this content it resolved the issue for some but not all and we can't figure out why is was not successful for every one. Can you see any issues? Example of a page where nofollow did not work for... http://www.andor.com/learning-academy/4-5d-microscopy-an-overview-of-andor's-solutions-for-4-5d-microscopy

Link juice and max number of links clarification
I understand roughly that "Link Juice" is passed by dividing PR by the number of links on a page. I also understand the juice available is reduced by some portion on each iteration. 50 PR page 10 links on page 5 * .9 = 4.5 PR goes to each link. Correct? If so and knowing Google stops counting links somewhere around 100, how would it impact the flow to have over 100 links? IE 50 PR page 150 links on the page .33 *.9 = .29PR to each link BUT only for 100 of them. After that, the juice is just lost? Also, I assume Google, to the best of its ability, organizes the links in order of importance such that content links are counted before footer links etc.

I have a site that has both http:// and https:// versions indexed, e.g. https://www.homepage.com/ and http://www.homepage.com/. How do I de-index the https// versions without losing the link juice that is going to the https://homepage.com/ pages?
I can't 301 https// to http:// since there are some form pages that need to be https:// The site has 20,000 + pages so individually 301ing each page would be a nightmare. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
