How to force moz to crawl my backlinks?
-
I have some good number number of backlinks in my webmaster tools. But, open site explorer is showing very few backlinks. How to force moz to crawl all the backlinks? Or is there any way to submit backlinks to moz?
-
Hi
Well - given the troubles Moz has to build the regular index in the past months I doubt they will add this feature anywhere soon.
Don't forget that DA & Trust is an internal metric of Moz - which tries to predict how well your site will rank in the SERP's. As all tools, it is just an estimate of the real thing.

Hi Dirk,
thanks for the most valuable reply. But, it is better to have some new page / backlink submission system.
And also AHref, raven tool's backlinks are not useful in my view. Why because, If we have good number of backlinks in moz, then our DA & Trust will increase.

You can't force Moz to crawl all backlinks or submit backlinks. While the Moz bot is crawling a huge number of sites/pages (check this page for the stats). Even when these figures are impressive - it's still only a fraction of the total web and what Googlebot is crawling/indexing. So it's quite possible that some backlinks were not (yet) discovered by Moz. Check also the FAQ on how the backlinks are discovered. There just was an update - so you'll have to check again after Nov. 15th.
As each supplier is using a different method to crawl the web - it's a good idea to check multiple resources to get your backlink profile (raven tools, afhref,...)

Subdomain and nofollow backlinks are used to calculate the domain authority?
Greetings, I have a couple of questions about domain authority. 1 - The backlinks that come from different subdomains count several times or only once coming from the same domain? 2 - The nofollow backlinks are used to calculate the domain authority? Thank you.

If I have a MOZ PRO account, do I still need Screaming Frog?
Hi, I have a MOZ PRO account which is brilliant for me. I am about to move my site from HTTP to HTTPS and was looking for a smooth way to list every page and its details so I can make sure I do the correct redirects etc.. before the switch to SSL. Do I need to get Screaming Frog, or can the tools with MOZ Pro ease my path just as well? Thanks

Changed URL from HTTP to HTTPS - 99% of my backlinks don't know though
Hi Moz community, I've got a question about all old backlinks pointing to the http version of my site: Firstly, how it impacts my site's backlinks for SEO and secondly, why does Moz and if you know why Majestic have different metric report values for the different URLs. The Back Story Two months ago I bought an SSL for my personal domain and changed my URL from http to the https version. I 301'd it and can verify that on Majestic SEO using the old http URL. I did this sitewide for an eCommerce site that I'm working and did see a lift in traffic; that was the main reason based on Google talking about sites moving to the SSL Web. I'm No Stranger to 301s Of course all the URLs on my site have been 301'd. I used a HTTPS Redirect plugin for my WordPress site and there's been no issue. I also installed a 404 Checker plugin to log broken external links to my site where I can create a redirect right away in case the HTTPS plugin missed something along the way. I'm comfortable knowing that doing when you change the domain name for a site or just a page going from one URL to another will transfer all the link equity over time. What's Causing the Confusion What's a little confusing is that when I use tools like OSE or Majestic's Explorer, the data doesn't match. For instance in OSE, the https version of my domain has a DA of 1 and PA of 1. But, the http version of my site has a DA of 25 and PA of 36. With Majestic (BTW, please feel free to stop me from asking questions about another tool on Moz, but since we're all part of the same SEO community, I thought I'd ask it here anyway) the Trust and Citation flow values are definitely closely matched but still different values nonetheless. My Question Will I ever see the DA and PA the same for the https & http versions in the future? Does OSE catch the fact that there is a 301 redirect to the https version or does it only recognize that it redirects from http://kingrosales.com to http://www.kingrosales.com when in fact it redirects to https://www.kingrosales.com? My second question is, what about the backlinks? Is it because they are different URLs that OSE doesn't have a way to recognize this and display links from the old http version to the new https version? How will I know the true PA and DA of the https version of my site even with a perfectly executed 301 redirect? lol Let me know if you need more clarification. Thanks

Why doesn't my site show up in Moz Site Explorer
I started this website about 2 months ago, www.guyetteroofing.com. I know it still needs a lot of work, but I can't find any information on it on the site explorer tool.

Moz crawling bot
Hi guys, in OpenSiteExplorer -> Top Pages, there are no page titles displayed in a raport for certain domain, and "HTTP Status" column shows: "Blocked by robots.txt". I tried to find out what the ID of Moz crawling bot is, and on this page: http://moz.com/community/q/seomoz-spider-bot-details someone says it's: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; rogerBot/1.0; http://www.seomoz.org/dp/rogerbot). However, my robots.txt doesn't have such entry. Take a look: Automatically banned scanners and crawlers section User-agent: 008 Disallow: / user-agent: AhrefsBot Disallow: / User-agent: MJ12bot Disallow: / User-agent: metajobbot Disallow: / User-agent: Exabot Disallow: / User-agent: Ezooms Disallow: / User-agent: fyberspider Disallow: / User-agent: dotbot Disallow: / User-agent: MojeekBot Disallow: / Section end What could be the problem here, then? Why does the Moz bot think I'm blocking it?

Issues Checking Backlinks To YouTube Videos
Hi, Hope someone might be able to help here. I have been using OSE to check backlinks to sites without an issue. However, I do seem to have problems checking links to videos. For examplpe, I took a video url and checked backlinks and OSE reports 33 million just discovered, majestic SEO reports none and Ahrefs seems about right with 17. I was wondering if there is something I need to do to ensure OSE returns correct results for individual youtube videos. FYI, I am using the url that appears in the Google search. Thanks Mark
