How does decimal rounding of reviews to stars work in ios appstore?
Starting from which average review score to get full 5 star rating?Duolingo has a 5 star rating, but I doubt that they really have an all time review average larger than 4,75. In the google playstore their average of the android version is 4,6. Does anybody know how apple calculates the star ratings or has an URL reference where this is explained?

So for all stores (AppStore + GooglePlay + Microsoft Marketplace + Amazon App Store + etc) algorithm is simple - they calculate ALL ratings on all versions. Some of them only for local store, other for global.
Example Duolungo:
https://itunes.apple.com/bg/app/duolingo-learn-spanish-french/id570060128?mt=8 <- this is in local Bulgarian Market. 4.928 in 9 ratings.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-learn-spanish-french/id570060128?mt=8 <- in US market. 4.791 in 4068 ratings.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duolingo&hl=en <- Worldwide. 4.648 in 2343538 ratings.As you can see sites provide correct review rating to Google but they rounding it. Probably your guess for over 4.75 is correct. There isn't official explanation from Google about this. Some sites showing 5 star rating system. Other 10 star - 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5. For other it's complicated because i have seen even results as 4.2 and this is 100 star rating system.

Schema Markup - Star Ratings
I'm trying to get the star ratings to appear next to our client's website in google search results. Here is the url:https://cstoneroof.com/ I believe I have it setup correctly but am unsure why the stars don't appear: structure data test here I pulled the rating value and count from Facebook. Not sure if it has to be Google reviews or if FB will work as well. Anybody have any thoughts here?

Single 1 Star Rating on GMB
Hi all, We recently received a 1 star rating on GMB. It's just the rating, no review/comment with it. We don't recognise the name so we think it must have been made in error or is spam. We discussed this internally, and it was decided that we should try to have it removed, although I personally didn't think our chances of getting it removed would be very good (because we wouldn't be able to prove it was spam). I flagged it as spam but didn't get a reply (would you even expect to get one?). I also sent GMB a DM on Twitter a couple of days ago, and again no reply. Edit: Google have now replied as I tweeted them again and as expected they won't remove the rating as it doesn't violate their policies. Normally, I wouldn't be so concerned about one individual poor rating (especially as it is just a rating), but we haven't had any reviews on Google before, so now our average is one star which just looks bad when someone googles our company. We use an external review provider for getting reviews from customers, so we don't actively encourage our customers to rate us on Google. I was thinking we should reply to the rating, with a message saying something along the lines of "We can't find your name in our accounts, but if you get in touch with our customer service, we are confident they will be able to help you." It would also help to get more ratings or reviews to even out the one bad one and improve our average. Is there anything else we could do? How would you handle this? Thanks!

Paid review service stars in search ads - why is that allowed?
I'm looking at paid review services like Trustpilot, FeeFo and others. I'm told I can filter out bad reviews, which I can't do with my Google Certified Stores reviews. I'm struggling to understand why Google include these in the reviews it uses for the star ratings in search ads. I know it's a different thing, but surely these reviews are in breach of the rules that Google apply to their own "My Business" reviews? They talk about "Conflict of interest: Reviews are most valuable when they are honest and unbiased" here: https://support.google.com/business/answer/2622994?hl=en Does anyone have a take on whether Google will drop these as the momentum builds in collection of their own reviews? I'd like to pull an entire review from Yelp and put it on my website. I would link out to the review on Yelp and then give credit to Yelp in the publisher section of the schema. If I give credit to the name of the reviewer and where the review is being pulled from (in this case Yelp) on both the actual website as well as in the schema, is this white hat and something I could implement? Also, is "simple review" markup the correct markup to use in this scenario?

Google plus review - how to ask
I found a way (finally!) to find out which of my customers who have a gmail account have also a Google plus account. That helps a lot. We use to send handout reviews or video instructions about how to create a Google plus account...and it didn't go to well. Now that we know they have a G+ account , all we have to do is ask for a review; how to do this?
