How do you check the outbound links of a site?
-
There are great tools like http://www.opensiteexplorer.org that will tell you all about the inbound links. What about the more basic and easier question: What outgoing links does this site have?
-
@Asher Try this https://skymanmentalist.com
-
ScreamingFrog will also let you see External HTML links from a site. Plus it works on Mac.
-
Xenu Link Sleuth is also a good option.

I had an issue with spam links being inserted on a site, so I did of bit of research on this. All of the links above are great, but unfortunately check only the site that you submit (instead of the entire domain).
The best I've found is Screaming Spider. Enter your domain at the top and click Start. After it's completed, click the "External" tab at the top and it will show you a list of links.
Additionally, if you want to see the page on your site that the link is located, click the "In-Links" tab on the bottom and the "From" column will give you the page.
This helped us a ton. Enjoy!

Cleaning Up Bad 301 External Links From Old Site
A relatively new site I'm working on has been hit really hard by Panda, due to over optimization of 301 external links which include exact keyword phrases, from an old site. Prior to the Panda update, all of these 301 redirects worked like a charm, but now all of these 301's from the old url are killing the new site, because all the hyper-text links include exact keyword matches. A couple weeks ago, I took the old site completely down, and removed the htaccess file, removing the 301's and in effect breaking all of these bad links. Consequently, if one were to type this old url, you'd be directed to the domain registrar, and not redirected to the new site. My hope is to eliminate most of the bad links, that are mostly on spammy sites, that aren't worth linking to. My thought is these links would eventually disappear from G. My concern is that this might not work, because G won't re-index these links, because once they're indexed by G, they'll be there forever. My fear is causing me to conclude I should hedge my bets, and just disavow these sites using the disavow tool in WMT. IMO, the disavow tool is an action of last resort, because I don't want to call attention to myself, since this site doesn't have a manual penalty inflected on it. Any opinions or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Site Not On Google, SEOmoz shows as 43
The site I'm helping with was at one time a page 1, even #1 on page 1. Lots of changes, problems when someone else did something and dropped to page 4 for keyword. After some recent tweaking I did, it no longer shows on rankings. No penalty on Google Webmaster, in Webmaster tools it shows the sitemap processed with no errors. SEOmoz still shows it at #43 in Rankings. Why does SEOmoz see it, but I don't? Site is www.plussizeplum.com (sorry, plus size women's lingerie) and keywords are "plus size lingerie".

Big changes in site titles
So as I pour though some of the diagnostics data for over 100,000 pages of my site I see thousands of page title that "could" be changed. Could this cause some lost traffic for a while due to the big changes?

What do you use for site audit
What tools do you use for conducting a site audit? I need to do an audit on a site and the seomoz web crawler and on page optimization will takes days if not a full week to return any results. In past Ive used other tools that I could run on the fly and they would return broken links, missing htags, keyword density, server information and more. Curious as to what you all use and what you may recommend to use in conjunction with the moz tools.

Sites Blocking Open Site Explorer? Penguin related.
Last week I was looking at a competitors site who has a link scheme going on and I could actually check the links for each anchor text. This week they don't work at all, do you think they're blocking the rogerbot on their domains? Or is there a problem with open site explorer? http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?site=www.decks.ca If you're interested in the background, all the links are to instant-home-biz . com which then redirects decks . ca - it's a tricky technique. Pretty much all of the links are from sketchy sites like: airpr23.xelr8it.biz/ airpr23.anzaland.net/ airpr23.vacation-4-free.com/airpr23.blogfreeradio.net/airpr23.blogomatik.com/http://www.morcandirect.com/mortgages/resources2.php which I thought Penguin was supposed to catch…

Links not appearing on Open Site Explorer
My site gained several new inbound links during December and only two of them are not all showing up on the latest Linkscape update. It seems to be the links that were created at the end of the month which are showing up, whereas a handful at the beginning of the month are nowhere to be seen. All the linking pages have been indexed by Google the links are do-follow, and one of the sites in particular is not obsure and has a DA in the 90's. I appreciate the Linkscape doesn't index everything, but I would have thought that more tof the results of my efforts would have shown up in OSE. I'd be really grateful if anyone could explain this to me please. Thanks Ben

Internal link question - compared with my competitors
Dear all, I started to working on SEO on my website http://www.techstation.it and I have some thing that I would clarify. I see a lot of differences between internal links of my website and my competitors that usually are placed a bit better. (Please check attached image). They have A LOT of internal links, about 2.000+ instead 137 (mine), that's wrong in my SEOMOz dashboard. Every news and article page has 120-130 links to other contents. About teh external followed links: Mine: 1,674 #1: 2,018 #2: 316 (????) - this is placed really good for some competitive keywords #3 (best ranked): 7,905 links I have two more points that I would fix: Articles ranking We were one of the first 5-6 website that published at the launch day the review of Intel Core i7 3960X CPU and started with a ranking in the last first page results, a few days alter in the second and now we are at the end of the second page. This happens .. I think... every time 😕 All my article pages are graded with "A grade" in the control panel. So what should I do for increase my rankings? Thank you very much in advance! Alex
