Errors In Search Console

Hi All,
I am hoping someone might be able to help with this.
Last week one of my sites dropped from mid first day to bottom of page 1. We had not been link building as such and it only seems to of affected a single search term and the ranking page (which happens to be the home page).
When I was going through everything I went to search console and in crawl errors there are 2 errors that showed up as detected 3 days before the drop.
These are:
wp-admin/admin-ajax.php showing as response code 400 and also
xmlrpc.php showing as response code 405
robots.txt is as follows:
user-agent: *
disallow: /wp-admin/
allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
Any help with what is wrong here and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, sorry, that site doesn't have Jetpack installed.

Checked the xmlroc file and it was identical to a new download.
Fetch as Googlebot returns an almost instant error message.

Did the error come up again on console? I would recommend resubmitting the site after fixing the errors and wait for some time.

Unfortunately this did not work.
I am absolutely baffled by it. Siteground (the hosts) dont have a clue either.

Hi There,
The problem with the errors that appeared in the Google Console might be due to wordpress. But the errors would have made the content and structure of the website look very different or even not available for the bots. You should focus on fixing the following error and re-submit the site.
xmlrpc.php showing as response code 405

Search Console - Should I request to index redirected URL or Mark as fixed?
Hi all, Many blog posts used to be showing 404s when doing crawl tests and in search console (despite being there when visited.) I realized it was an issue with URL structure. It used to be example.com/post-name I've fixed the issue by changing the URL structure in Wordpress so that they now follow the structure of example.com/post-type/post-name According to sitemaps, Google has now indexed all posts in /post-type/post-name. My question is what to do with crawl errors in Search Console that are still there for example.com/postname. When I fetch, I get a redirect status (which is accurate). At this point should I request to index or mark as fixed? Thank you!

Soft 404 errors
Google webmaster tools is telling me I have 8 "soft 404's". They are all like this page...

Sitelinks only show when the URL is searched- Why don't they show when our company name is searched?
Why is is that when I search "protonmail.ch", sitelinks show for our company. However when you search for "ProtonMail", no sitelinks show, even though our homepage is now on the top result. We've been trying different things to improve the navigational structure of the homepage, such as using the <nav>tag. If you have any thoughts on why sitelinks might not be showing up, we'd really appreciate it! Thank you </nav>

Duplicate title error in GWT over spelling in URL
Hi, How do I resolve a duplicate title error in GWT over spelling in URL? Ttile of Post: Minneapolis Median Home Sales Price Up 16 Percent Not sure how this happened, but I have two URL versions show up. Even with a 301 redirect, the both remain an error in GWT.

Sitemap issue - Tons of 404 errors
We've recreated a client site in a subdirectory (mysite.com/newsite) of his domain and when it was ready to go live, added code to the htaccess file in order to display the revamped website on the main url. These are the directions that were followed to do this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory and http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#When_Your_Domain_Name_or_URLs_Change. This has worked perfectly except that we are now receiving a lot of 404 errors am I'm wondering if this isn't the root of our evil. This is a WordPress self-hosted website and we are actively using the WordPress SEO plugin that creates multiple folders with only 50 links in each. The sitemap_index.xml file tests well in Google Analytics but is pulling a number of links from the subdirectory folder. I'm wondering if it really is the manner in which we made the site live that is our issue or if there is another problem that I cannot see yet. What is the best way to attack this issue? Any clues? Easy Fix for 404 Errors foe Newbie
Hey there, I have two errors at these links that to my knowledge do not exist on my domain according to the MOZ. http://educateathletes.com/post/23804085842/educateathletes-ushl-gm-head-coach-jim http://educateathletes.com/products I'm really not sure what to do. The first is an old Tumblr blog post. The second is a page that was created on my site but the URL title was changed to http://educateathletes.com/enroll Any advice is appreciated to eliminate this. Duplicate Content Errors

Google Webmaster tools error?
So I am trying to set the URL preference in google webmaster tools for my site. However when I try to save it it tells me to verify that I own the site. I have already done this so where can I go to verify I own the site exactly? Maybe I am wrong and I have not done this already but even on the homepage of webmaster tools I don't see an option to "verify".
