Unsolved How to Fix Inappropriate Backlink Anchor Text?
-
Moz Pro is telling me that "get free high quality hd wallpapers designed home" is one of the top anchor texts in backlinks to my website, larrybohenwebsolutions.com. This anchor text has nothing to do with my website. How do I find out where this anchor text is used and how to fix?
-
HI,
I have some suggestion for you
To fix inappropriate backlink anchor text, you can reach out to the website owner and request a change. Alternatively, you can disavow the link through Google's Disavow Tool, indicating to search engines that you don't want that link to be considered when assessing your site's ranking. Regularly monitoring your backlinks and proactively managing them is crucial for maintaining a healthy link profile.
Please try this
Best,
Regards -
Disavow Links: If contacting website owners doesn't work or the links are clearly spammy, disavow them using Google Search Console's Disavow Tool. This tells Google to ignore these links, but use this option cautiously as disavowing too many links can harm your SEO.
Monitor and Repeat: Backlink profiles are dynamic, so continue monitoring your backlinks regularly and repeat the process as needed. -

1. Identify the inappropriate anchor text. The first step is to identify the inappropriate anchor text on your website. You can do this by using a backlink checker tool like Ahrefs or Semrush. These tools will scan your website and identify all of the backlinks pointing to your website, as well as the anchor text that is being used.
2. Contact the webmasters of the websites that contain the inappropriate anchor text. Once you have identified the inappropriate anchor text, you need to contact the webmasters of the websites that contain it. Politely explain to them that the anchor text is inappropriate and ask them to change it.
3. Disavow the links. If the webmasters of the websites that contain the inappropriate anchor text refuse to change it, you can disavow the links. Disavowing links is a process of telling Google that you don't want the links to be counted towards your website's ranking.

Fixing inappropriate backlink anchor text is essential to maintain a healthy and search engine-friendly link profile for your website. Anchor text is the clickable text that is used to link to your website from another site. Here are some steps you can take to address and fix inappropriate backlink anchor text:
Identify the inappropriate anchor text:
Use backlink analysis tools like Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, or Google Search Console to identify all the backlinks pointing to your website and their anchor text. Look for anchor text that seems irrelevant, spammy, or uses exact-match commercial keywords excessively.Contact the website owner:
Reach out to the website owners responsible for the inappropriate anchor text. Politely request them to change the anchor text to something more appropriate and relevant to the content of the linked page. Explain the importance of maintaining a natural link profile and how it can benefit both parties in terms of search engine rankings.Disavow backlinks (if necessary):
If you cannot get the website owners to change the anchor text or if the backlinks come from low-quality or spammy sites, you may consider using the Google Disavow Tool. This tool allows you to signal to Google that you do not want these specific backlinks to be considered when evaluating your site's ranking. However, use this tool cautiously and only as a last resort, as it can have significant consequences if misused.Update internal links:
Check your internal links to ensure you are not using inappropriate anchor text within your own website. Use descriptive and relevant anchor text for internal links, as it helps search engines understand the content of the linked pages and improves the user experience.Focus on natural link building:
Instead of focusing on specific anchor text, concentrate on building high-quality, valuable content that naturally attracts backlinks. When other websites link to your content organically, they are more likely to use appropriate and relevant anchor text.Diversify anchor text:
If you notice that a large percentage of your backlinks have the same anchor text, work on diversifying it. Aim for a variety of anchor text types, including branded anchor text (your website name), partial match anchor text (a variation of your target keyword), and natural anchor text (such as "click here" or "learn more").Monitor and audit regularly:
Keep an eye on your backlink profile regularly using backlink analysis tools. Regular audits can help you identify and address any new instances of inappropriate anchor text promptly.Remember, having a natural and diverse backlink profile is crucial for SEO success. By taking these steps to fix inappropriate anchor text and maintaining a high-quality link profile, you can improve your website's search engine rankings and avoid any potential penalties from search engines.

Fixing inappropriate backlink anchor text is essential for maintaining a healthy and search engine-friendly link profile. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to address this issue:
Identify Inappropriate Anchor Text: First, you need to identify the backlinks with inappropriate anchor text. Anchor text refers to the clickable text in a hyperlink, and inappropriate anchor text could include spammy keywords, irrelevant phrases, or any text that goes against search engine guidelines. Reach Out to Webmasters: If the inappropriate anchor text comes from external websites, try reaching out to the webmasters or site owners responsible for those backlinks. Politely request them to change the anchor text to something more relevant or appropriate. Disavow Links: In cases where you cannot get the anchor text changed or if the links are from low-quality or spammy websites, you may consider using the Google Disavow Tool. This tool allows you to tell Google to ignore specific backlinks when evaluating your site's ranking. However, use the disavow tool with caution, as it can impact your site's SEO if used incorrectly. Create New Internal Links: If the inappropriate anchor text is coming from internal links on your own website, update the anchor text to something more appropriate and relevant to the content it is linking to. Ensure that your internal linking strategy follows SEO best practices. Update Guest Posts or Articles: If the inappropriate anchor text is within guest posts or articles you've contributed to other websites, get in touch with the respective site's editors or administrators and request a modification to the anchor text. Monitor Backlinks Regularly: Regularly monitor your backlink profile using tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or Moz. This will help you promptly identify and address any new instances of inappropriate anchor text. Focus on Natural Link Building: Going forward, concentrate on natural link building strategies that focus on creating valuable content. When other websites link to your content naturally, they are more likely to use relevant and appropriate anchor text. Diversify Anchor Text: Avoid overusing exact match anchor text. Instead, diversify your anchor text by using a mix of branded terms, variations of keywords, and natural language. This helps in maintaining a more organic link profile.
Remember, building a healthy backlink profile is an ongoing process, and it's essential to be vigilant about the links pointing to your website. By following these steps, you can work towards fixing inappropriate anchor text and improve your site's SEO performance.

Unsolved Struggling to recouple backlinks that lead to 404 after a redesign launch
We had a site redesign launch a few months ago. Due to other priorities / a lot of things going on, there were a decent amount of URLs that 404ed. We implemented a drupal module search404 to redirect all of these to the homepage or a search results page that pulls search terms from the 404 page. Our goal is to recoup SEO value since we saw a notable dip in domain authority and amount of links after launch. We know a catch-all automated solution like this isn't ideal because it's better to 301 each page to its most relevant live page. For example, if CNN.com links to our Texas location, it's better to 301 to our new texas page than a homepage or search page. The problem is that since we implemented this catch all search404 module, it seems like tools like Moz Pro and Screaming Frog are not picking up the backlinks from external sites that 404 since they were "fixed" by the search404 module. Any ideas on solutions? We're trying to avoid tedious or risky solutions like undoing the module, which may bring back the 404s but cause some UX and SEO issues so we can run a SF crawl. Or going through every link in our link profile manually to check.

How do I find http backlinks to my domain?
Hi, We spotted a number of sites linking to us from http sites, not https sites. How can I use backlink tools to find just those from http sites? Right now I'm looking at exporting a spreadsheet with 3.3 million entries and filtering - and there's not one person here who wants to do that! Thanks in advance. Backlink not showing on Link Explorer
Hello, Our team have been doing link building for a month, however non of the links are coming up in MOZ Link Explorer. We used link tracker to check, and it is not linking back. when checking on the other blog's site, they are linking back but we are unable to see it in moz. For example:
Link Explorer | | WAUBIKE
Indiegogo: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wau-the-best-feature-packed-smart-ebike#/
NewAtlas: https://newatlas.com/wau-ebike-affordable/56791/ These both links are linking back to us at www.waubike.com, and we can see it on google web masters, but we cannot see it on Moz? We have checked our server and they confirmed they are not blocking Moz's crawlers. Anyone else have this issue ?0 -

Moz Pro: Filter inbound links by partial anchor text?
My site has been targeted by a spam farm with hundreds of different domains, all linking to images on our CDN with similar variations of anchor text, eg: get free high quality hd wallpapers wedding cake makers
Link Explorer | | James_NZ
get free high quality hd wallpapers hairstyle makeover
get free high quality hd wallpapers living room cafe
etc Is it possible within Moz Pro to filter all incoming links with anchor text including "free high quality hd wallpapers" so that I can disavow all of the domains en masse? So far I've only been able to display/download the list of links exactly matching the full anchor text which is very time-consuming with 100+ variations. Regards,

Where can I see the list of the new backlinks reported?
In my dashboard I see a +875 in external links. Now they are 1,130. This sounds worrying rother than good news! I'd like to get an explaination but how can I see where these links come from? And when? How can be explained a steep increase in the link count from the last index? Also, a minor question, where can I find the increase percentage? I am able to see only the absolute count.
