Has google panelized us ? If so, why ? How do I know if our website is panelized ?
-
We were ranked on first page among top 5 position a year ago for most of our pages. On one fine day, google decided to drop us from the results although google keeps indexing our pages. Google index our pages regularly but doesn't show them in its results. All google traffic we receive is for our own site name and its variations.
I wanted to know - how do we know if google has panelized us. Why has google panelized us ? If they have panelized us, what can we do to get out of it ?
Also I wanted to know if any tool will help me identify such thing. We have not done any link building. Our site page rank is 4 (it was 5 few months ago). All we did was on page optimization.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks, We have webmasters account set up - we knew it from even analytics that search terms that we were ranking before - now we are not.
-
I PMed you details but our pages are indexed by google regularly (daily and weekly) so it is confusing.
-
Also, if you haven't yet, you might also want to set up the Google Webmaster Tools. Once you get re-included, if something like this happened again, you'd see your # of impressions drop drastically from within their search queries report. If you set up the Bing webmaster tools as well, you could compare the two to see if Google is truly penalizing you.

Thanks. I think I can see where the main problems are... you have quite a few ads and loads, and loads of outgoing links with very little unique content. The majority of the content you have there is fed in through affiliate programs and so will exist in many other places too.
I would suggest that you separate a lot of what you have on the homepage into different categories and landing pages, at the same time as adding some static and unique content on each.
After doing that, fill out a re-inclusion request with Google.
Usually when people think they've been penalized it turns out they haven't and there's just some other issue but I think you most likely have been penalized in this case.

We did change the website but that was around around 1.5 years ago - However, ranking it comes and goes back...so for a week or so we get ranking back - once in a while (happened twice or three times so far) but then they go back.
-
PMed you the domain
-
Can you tell us the domain?
-
Sounds like you did nothing wrong but change your website which can cause stuff like that to happen. Wait it out and you should be back.

My Website's Home Page is Missing on Google SERP
Hi All, I have a WordPress website which has about 10-12 pages in total. When I search for the brand name on Google Search, the home page URL isn't appearing on the result pages while the rest of the pages are appearing. There're no issues with the canonicalization or meta titles/descriptions as such. What could possibly the reason behind this aberration? Looking forward to your advice! Cheers

Vanity URLs are being indexed in Google
We are currently using vanity URLs to track offline marketing, the vanity URL is structured as www.clientdomain.com/publication, this URL then is 302 redirected to the actual URL on the website not a custom landing page. The resulting redirected URL looks like: www.clientdomain.com/xyzpage?utm_source=print&utm_medium=print&utm_campaign=printcampaign. We have started to notice that some of the vanity URLs are being indexed in Google search. To prevent this from happening should we be using a 301 redirect instead of a 302 and will the Google index ignore the utm parameters in the URL that is being 301 redirect to? If not, any suggestions on how to handle? Thanks,

UK website ranking higher in Google.com than Google.co.uk
Hi, I have a UK website which was formerly ranked 1st in Google.co.uk and .com for my keyword phrase and has recently slipped to 6th in .co.uk but is higher in position 4 in Google.com. I have conducted a little research and can’t say for certain but I wonder if it is possible that too many of my backlinks are US based and therefore Google thinks my website is also US based. Checked Google WmT and we the geo-targeted to the UK. Our server is also UK based. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks

Why is my website banned?
IMy website is Costume Machine at www.costumemachine.com . My site has been banned for 1 year now. I have requested that google reconsider my site 3 times without luck. The site is dynamic and basically pulls in feeds from affiliate sites. We have added over 1,500 pages of original content. The site has been running great since 2008 without any penalties. I don't think I got hit with any linking penalty. I cleaned up all questionable links last November when the penalty hit. Am I being hit with a "thin" site penalty? If that is the issue what is the best way to fix the problem?
