Proper Title Tags for ecommerce
-
In terms of E-commerce title tags. We are a manufacturer of our own clothing products. We are new to the SEO landscape so if this question is an obvious answer, then i apologize for wasting any one times in advance.
We Manufacture our own clothing. Each item has a name. The names are American womens names such as amanda or lori or jenniffer etc. When we create the title tag for them should we include the name of the item itself at the beginning or end. For example should it be
Item Name - Keyword - Keyword - Brand Name(aka manufacturer)
or
Keyword - Keyword - Item Name - Brand Name (aka manufacturer)
The reason we ask this is because we think it would be a waste to rank for actual American names such as Jennifer and Jessica. All that we have read on Moz suggests that it seems to be better to have pertinent keywords in the beginning of the title as opposed to the end. In terms of our brand name we already rank number 1 for every combination of our brand. So we would like to start picking up traffic for the different product types we sell and there respective synonyms. Not sure if i am making any sense. Sorry in advance, and any help is very very much appreciated.

Ali
So I assume the keyword is Blouse - name of Product Jessica
Women's Blouses | Jessica Blouse | Brandname
H1
Fashion Blouses
It is a little unusual to have the name of the product in womans fashion in the title - unless it is a big brand like G-Star etc. But that is up to you. An alternate might be
Blouses | Peasant, black casual | Brand name
H1
Womans fashion Blouses
Then leave jessica for the description of the product? There are 1000 ways to skin a cat, you have to decide which way to go. I prefer the latter.
Hope that assists.

When you say synergy with H1 tag. For example, the name of our product is simply Jessica Blouse. We would like to use the Meta title with Keyword - Keyword- Jessica - Brand Name; Would you consider that to be synergy? It seems to me what would be that could be debatable right?

The answer is the keyword first.
But concurrently when working on your title tag, you should also consider your H1. Create synergy so google can easily determine what search inquiry you answer. Additionally your URL structure.
Make is simple for google to understand what the purpose of each page is. Here is a good link to have a quick scan of.

Wordpress Tags error in MOZ
Hi, We are getting an enormous amount of missing meta description only on our tag archives. When we post we fill in a description and are using the Yoast plugin ( getting green lights). Now we are finding that we're missing descriptions in tags archives. What is the best thing to do? We're finding that the tags are creating a separate url for each tag that has missing description even though the post has a full description. 1. To block spiders from crawling tags? 2. To stop using tags? 3. What do you suggest? Thank you

Long product urls ecommerce store
Hi we have a site in the mens fashion space who have long product urls which look like this: https://www.domain.com/catalog/product/view/id/13700/s/the-mate-tee-grey-marle-upm618g/category/120/ The site is on Magento. Are there any serious SEO negatives of having such a long product url and including irrelevant information in the url like product/view/id/13700/s/ & /category/120/ in the URL. Or are the benefits of changing them to more URL friendly product urls like: https://www.domain.com/the-mate-tee-grey-marle-upm/ Minimal? Cheers.

Proper Form for Title & Description Tags
Greetings MOZ Community: I operate a real estate web site in New York (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com) that I suspect has been hit by Panda 4.0. I believe a problem is thin content on product pages, which in my case are 350 listing pages. However I am also looking at how title and description tags are formatted for these 350 pages to ensure this is not a factor in the ranking drop. The title descriptions are written like this: <title></span><span class="webkit-html-tag">Flatiron loft for rent | West 21st Street | 1441SF $6604/month</span><span class="webkit-html-tag"></title> Is this sufficiently diverse? Will constantly repeating various street names, square footages and prices work against me? Will Google in a sense consider this thin or repetitive content? It does provide the visitor with key information. The descriptions meta tags are written along these lines: description" content="One of the most desirable full floor sublets in Midtown South. Recent build out, pristine condition, panoramic views, tech chic, spectacular. Top location." /><meta< span=""></meta<> From an SEO perspective are these critical tags written the way they should be? Thanks everyone!! Alan

Google Generating its Own Page Titles
Hi There I have a question regarding Google generating its own page titles for some of the pages on my website. I know that Google sometimes takes your H1 tag and uses it as a page title, however, can anyone tell me how I can stop this from happening? Is there a meta tag I can use, for example like the NOODP tag? Or do I have to change my page title? Thanks Sadie

Original Source and Canonical tags
We've been using canonical links to protect site SEO for contributor content and requiring canonical of our partners (as well as tagging internal duplicate content with canonical). Most other media sites have been doing the same but this is a moving target. I'm now hearing that the original source tag is now a better option. Special focus for us is placement on google news. Any guidance?
