Spam score of 28 %
-
Hello,
I checked my website spam score in link explorer and found out it has got 28 %.
What do you recommend I do ? should I ask for all the links to be removed (even though some of them are no followed)
Is it possible that google has penalised me because of that score and de-ranked me ?
Thank you,
-
Hiiii..............28% spam score is high but don't worry. Check the links on your site to see if there are any low-quality links, if any, remove them to reduce the spam score.
Google will not penalize you just for this score, but will ask you to improve your ranking. -
Hi Meghan,
I have no manual action on my google dashboard does it mean I shouldn't worry ?
Thank you, I will have a look at the link you sent.

Hi there!
Thanks so much for the great question!
So your Spam Score in Link Explorer is representative of the percentage of sites we've found with features similar to those found on your site that are being penalized or banned by Google. It is not necessarily due to the types of links pointing to your site. If you're looking to improve your Spam Score, I would recommend looking into the 27 common features we've found contribute to these penalizations and see if you're able to work on them on your site. I have a great guide which talks more about Spam Score, how it's calculated, and what it means. It also includes a list of those 27 features. https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-score
I hope this helps! If you have more questions or if you need anything else, feel free to email us at help@moz.com!

I bought a domain name https://ez1.in and it has a high MOZ spam score. Although it is because of the previous webmaster who used this domain as a URL shortening website. But now I am using it as a service delivery website. I wanted to know once a domain is deleted and ready to resell MOZ doesn't update its Spam score? Or it has periodic updates that are scheduled? How does the whole process work?

Negative difficulty and priority scores in keyword report
Hello! We have recently tracked a number of keywords into Moz's Keyword Explorer, but for a number of them the difficulty and priority scores are all -2. We don't rank currently for these so does anybody know what is causing the difficulty to be in negative figures? Thanks!

Keywords Score Meter
Hi Moz, I am using the keywords difficulty tool from your site and find it is quite useful 🙂 I research the community and find the data should be interpreted in the following way. But when I did a quick research for one keyword. The tool bar gives me a data of 22% showing in Yellow and says the keyword is competitive when I hover my mouse. Should this be **Blue **and easy to rank keyword based on the score? Which one should I believe? Sub 30 - (Blue) Low hanging fruit you can take advantage of. 30 - 35 (Green) Fairly easy with good on page and some quality anchored links. 35 - 40 - (Yellow) Will take a bit more work but still in reach may require, good on-site SEO and a solid link profile. 40 - 50 (Orange) Domain authority plays a much more pivotal role so it may take longer to rank for. 50+ (Red) All about resources. Onsite SEO needs to be totally nailed, including internal linking/ topic modelling etc. a strong & diverse link profile with good social signals and ... time. Thanks in advance. New Spam Analysis Tool Results Questions
First off, I am incredibly excited about this tool. Secondly, I have a slew of questions, but the ones that are lingering for me are as follows. There are a few URLS that we used to control which are showing up in our list as spammy. The websites no longer exist as of roughly a week ago and I presume they still show up simply because of the last indexing. That being said, if a website doesn't exist anymore, yet the link is showing up in our GWMT or MOZ, is it still necessary to disavow? Is that overkill? http://alcoholdrugrehablosangeles.com/ is an example of a website we used to control and I have removed. My second lingering question is if there are a handful of links that are registering as spammy, and I presume it is due to lack of content/duplicate content, and I move that content to its appropriate place on another website and 301 that domain to its new home, will the "spam score" carry over?

Keyword Difficulty Score Meter: how to interpret levels
I'm hoping to find what percentages change the levels for the difficulty score meter in the keyword difficulty tool. For example, when does a blue -- non-competitive -- move into the green level, and so forth. Also, I can't find the description (names?) of all the levels (highly competitive, non-competitive, etc). Thanks for your help.
