Are links from Pinterest 'do follow'/do they have any SEO benefit?
-
Afternoon all,
I know there is a question about Pinterest that was asked in February but I guess it was a fairly new beast then and people were still unsure about its use for marketing/SEO etc.
I run an events business and on our Pinterest profile I tend to pin random stuff I find on the net, themes we are running (directly from our website) and other Pinterest users. I have received several 're-pins' and people are really starting to follow us now.
What I am keen to know is whether or not having lots of followers/re-pins on Pinterest has the same effectiveness from an SEO perspective as having lots of Facebook/Twitter/Google+ followers and whether or not these re-pins are 'do follow' links or have any SEO benefit whatsoever?
Many thanks
Rob
ps: Pinterest page is http://pinterest.com/eventa/ , if anyone has any tips on how to better utilize this then that would also be greatly appreciated

it seems to me that pinterest has changed since last year.
some links seem dofollow to me.

The links on the source page are NOfollow!

The link on your Pinterest page is a do-follow link which will benefit SEO. However, the links on pins that you post and re-pin are no-follow so will not affect SEO.
In regards to best tips: what you have at the moment is great! I like the themes you have going. It would be great to see past events that you have put on. You can also use it yourselves for inspirations. This may also interest and inspire your clients/potential clients too.

Hi guys, I need to create a subscribe end-off to my YouTube videos. I need something like this - https://www.youtube.com/user/SeattleCoffeeGear - where the red gear at the bottom pops up with a bright red "subscribe" CTA. How do I do this?

Why can't FB find this url?
The other day we updated an old blog post, http://www.kempruge.com/flashing-headlights-no-good-deed/, and while it uploaded fine to g+ and the page is live, for some reason, FB says it can't find it. This has never happened to me before, so I don't know what to do? I tried posting other links to FB from our site, and they all worked, so I know it's not a problem with our site. Then, I tried posting the link using other FB accounts, but they did't work. So I know it's not our FB page. I did do one thing that may have caused this problem, but not sure. After I updated this post, I scheduled it to post thinking it would do it immediately. I went to post the link on FB, before it was scheduled to publish in WP, and that's when I noticed it wasn't finding it. I went back to WP, and changed the schedule time. Once I did that, the page was live, but I can't get FB to recognize the page. It's like FB needs to clear its cache or something. Any ideas? Thanks, Ruben

How does knowing SEO benefit a consultant in social media
Hi Mozers I'm in the process of trying to secure a client that requires social media expertise. I want to be able to use my SEO knowledge as a benefit. I am struggling to explain in simple terms how a knowledge of SEO underpins a good Social Media campaign. Does anyone know of any good resources I can work through to communicate this issue effectively?

How To Use Followerwonk and Twitter for outreach link building
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with how to use follower wonk and twitter for outreach link building and offer any strategies. I'm using the following method but perhaps there are more efficient ways of doing it or other software that can aid the process. As I understand it it's a case of searching bios on followerwonk based on keywords and at the minute I'm selecting targets by social authority. (Is that the best metric or the there another one that's better?). I'm basically then following users in my niche and hoping that they follow me back. Those that do I'm then visiting their website based on the url in their twitter bio and running it through OSE to check the domain authority to see if the site authority is high enough to warrant listing them as a potential link target. If so I'm communicating with them by sharing their content, mentioning them or direct messaging them complimenting them on an article or such like. My aim is to build a relationship and eventually achieve a guest post or backlink somehow. Is this how the process should work?

SEO Terms Defined
I am having a really hard time clearly defining this for folks, I am hoping for some help here. Directory Websites: sites such as www.abcdirectory.com, these are typically lower quality manual submission websites with little user interaction Citation Sites: These are websites with business location listing such as Manta.com or yellowpages.com and involve locations with no links but the citations are valuable to ranking Local Search Sites: These are sites like Google Places, Yahoo Local, Yelp, etc and they sometimes offer reviews and user interaction, and are a hybrid local/social SEO component, you can create listings on these sites but if you want them to appear in search you need interaction with the page/listing.

Share buttons or Follow buttons
I have added share buttons to the thankyou page of our site and receive 2 or 3 shares on average per day back to our homepage from this via twitter, facebook, google+ and linkedin. We have done this for the past couple of months. Im not too sure what benefits i may get out of this other than a few clickbacks. Do i gain links back or do they carry little value? Am i better to replace these share buttons with follow buttons to our facebook and twitter pages? thanks Andy
