Should my small business website link to Yelp?

I'm kind of on the fence about this one. Should I include a social media icon for Yelp on my website? We have great reviews, but so do most of my competitors. I'd like to share my reviews, but I also do not want to send traffic away from my website to another website (Yelp) that lists my competitors. What do you think?

I'll probably do the API.
I know that Yelp doesnt want business owners to solicit reviews. However, it's extremely difficult to get reviews unless you do. I send out follow up emails to clients after each job and ask for a review (positive or negative), but I've still only received about 13 reviews in a year. I'm even thinking about creating a giveaway drawing for those that review each month.

I wouldn't worry about linking to a site that also lists your competitors. People are likely to search around looking for service reviews and multiple vendors.
One option is to use the Yelp API to pull recent reviews into your site. I believe the API lets you pull in 3 reviews to display directly on your site:

One thing to keep in mind when linking to Yelp is to avoid soliciting positive reviews. They want reviews to be as organic as possible:

Shortcut Link and Referral domain in Google Analytics
Hello, One of my clients has a Facebook page for his company, and his social media manager posts some promotional and educational posts on daily basis. the social media manager uses affiliate ID's in the destination URL to track traffic and leads that come from the social media and to make it look nicer he uses shortcut links service - bitly. Now I have a few questions about this: I don't see traffic comes from bit.ly or bitly.com in Google Analytics, my question: is using 301 redirect makes Google Analytics understand that the last website which sent the traffic to my website is not the actual Referral website? Is using shortcut links in the social media damages the links value (even though they are <nofollow>links - but still considered as signals from social media</nofollow> Thanks. LorS1nd.jpg

Blog posts copied to Facebook or Linked? Any Duplicate Content Issues?
I wasnt able to find any good answers on this. I have two separate ecommerce websites, one with a top level blog. (www.xyz.com/blog) and different website with a subdomain blog (blog.xyz.com)***note on the subdomain blog, although it links to our website. You cannot directly shop from it. Until i can make some sort of scraper, its what I have to work with. For quite some time now I have been copying the blog posts and re-creating them on facebook as a Note. Using the same anchor text/links on facebook as my blog post. Part of the issue is that I want the facebook pages to have some content and not just links. Both get 2-3 updates per week, 1 of those being a blog re-post. Does anyone know if google or bing considers this duplicate content? Should I simply link directly to the blog everytime, as a best practice? Any insight on this would be great. Thanks!

Would Too Many Scoop.it Backlinks Hurt Our Website?
Hi, We noticed in our Google Webmaster Tool that we have received a total of 10,162 links (still increasing) from Scoop.it over a period of less than 2 months from January. All these links are linking to our home page, and it is topping the list of "Who links the most" under our "Traffic > Links to Your site" in our Google Webmaster. Our second domain that links the most to us only has 1,831 links to our domain. According to our marketing service company who posted our brief bookmark content on Scoop.it: "That just has to do with the page structure of that site. If multiple scoop.it users promote your URL, the link will appear multiple times on each user's page. Plus, it's a curated site, so the link will be recommended to other users. Scoop.it has an Alexa of <1000 so it's a very popular site. If Facebook was fully indexed by Google (and other search engines and crawlers had full access), you'd see a similar situation. There's currently no way to exclude specific social sites, sorry for the bad news. The high # of links from scoop.it are totally normal (and natural for that domain), it's just because of all their internal linking. Google seems to LOVE scoop.it (60M+ pages indexed), so I wouldn't worry." However, we still don't feel comfortable with the explanation because it appear so very unusual and clearly appear to be 'Unnatural' to us as we concern. I wonder if anyone knows if this would get us into trouble with Google? More seriously, get us deindexed due to 'Unnatural' backlinks in short period of time, from one single domain? Are links from Pinterest 'do follow'/do they have any SEO benefit?
Afternoon all, I know there is a question about Pinterest that was asked in February but I guess it was a fairly new beast then and people were still unsure about its use for marketing/SEO etc. I run an events business and on our Pinterest profile I tend to pin random stuff I find on the net, themes we are running (directly from our website) and other Pinterest users. I have received several 're-pins' and people are really starting to follow us now. What I am keen to know is whether or not having lots of followers/re-pins on Pinterest has the same effectiveness from an SEO perspective as having lots of Facebook/Twitter/Google+ followers and whether or not these re-pins are 'do follow' links or have any SEO benefit whatsoever?
