Phone numbers in the meta titles
-
Is it best practice to have phone numbers in the meta titles? Will google penalize for that? It is actually useful for the users...
-
Since the title tag is used for rankings by Google and no one is searching by typing in the phone number, you are wasting your title tag space.
Better to put the phone number towards the beginning of the meta description. This way people can see the phone number and call it without having to click anywhere. Since you are concerned with calls as a conversion, clicking through to the site is not a prerequisite, you just want them to call and this gives the phone number up front.

No Google will not penalise your site for adding phone nos.
But Its best practice to add keyword than phone no for ex:
Keyword- Phone no| Company name
-
its a small lead gen business and yes people always call for appointments, even on our site they rarely use the form. 80% are calls - but my question is does google penalizes for that type of practice?
-
If your site is a directory and users are looking for the listings phone number - adding it to your page title removes the need for them to visit your site.
They can get the info they need straight from the SERP's.
Can you tell me more about your use case?

Should the Product Name/Keyword be first in meta description?
I'm writing my meta descriptions for my products. Right now I have it as <product name="">at <company name="">and a brief description.</company></product> However, I was wondering if I put a word in front of the <product name="">such as "Wholesale". So for example</product> Wholesale <product name="">at <company name="">.......</company></product> Is that advisable? Or should the product name always be the first word?

Is there any value to meta keywords?
The more I read the more I realize that meta keywords are not as helpful as they once were. Is there any SEO value to meta keywords anymore or should the emphasis be put on the content and title tags in regards to keywords? As always, I appreciate any feedback.

Can I get your input on keyword usage in the title tag
Hello fellow mozzers! I've been struggling with my title tag and would like to get your opinion. We provide IT services in the Los Angeles area. I've been doing keyword research for the past week and found about 400 keywords from various sources. I then looked at my top 5 competitors on Google and analyzed their homepage title tags, the most common keywords that they use in their title tags are: IT Support Los Angeles

Computer Support Los Angeles
Network Consulting Los Angeles
Network Support Los Angeles
IT Services Los Angeles Since it is recommended to have your title tag under 70 characters I've compiled the following title tag for my home page: IT Services, Network Consulting, IT and Network Support in Los Angeles which is exactly 70 characters, however my company name is an additional 9 characters, I think it would be wise to include in the title tag of the home page however I can't decide if I should exceed the limit by including the company name to the title tag or should I remove something from the title tag and then add the company name? 1. What do you guys think, is that a good title tag to use as is? 2. Should I add the company name without removing any keywords or remove a keyword? 3. I'm trying to target local traffic since I can't compete with the big dogs yet, so I want to be in the SERPs when someone searches IT Services Los Angeles, IT Support Los Angeles, etc... Do I need to add Los Angeles after each keyword, or I can use a single instance of Los Angeles like in the example title tag that I have? 4. For the other remaining 400+/- keywords I want to use some of them to create static pages and some for blog posts, is that the way to go? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!0 -
Check large number of websites for a specific keyword (or its synonym).
I have a large list of websites, and I need to check if a specific keyword (or its synonym) is present on each of these websites. Ideally I would like to receive CSV/XML/JSON output to import the results into CRM software. I was thinking to use Google Custom Search to query each website and see if there's any results. But it charges for number of queries, and I need to test thousands of websites. Is there a way to solve this problem with SEOmoz tools? Thanks

Should i change title tags?
I want to change all of the title tags on my website by adding a couple of more keywords (not keyword stuffing) but our previous media company chose words that were not aas relevant as ones I found. However I was warned this is a bad idea, it will make traffic drop and if it works we will only see about 5% increase to pages. Please advise. Should I change them and hwo should I do it? One by one slowly while changing content to match or all at once?
