Mozscape API Problem With Credentials
-
Yello everyone
Yesterday I generated Access ID and Secret Key to try the API, but it didn't work.
It's said that it might need 5 minutes, so I gave it something like 8 hours but it still didn't work afterwards.
I used the PHP sample and I checked it with the Sample Expires value and it produces the same Signature parameter as in the Sample Valid API Signature, so the PHP code sample and the Sample Valid API Signature are in sync.
In case you wonder - yes I changed the PHP sample by adding the valid strings for $accessID and $secretKey - I'm a long time programmer and I know what I'm doing with it.
I tried also the example URL from Sample Valid API Signature couple of times, refreshing each time to get new Expire parameter, but it's not working too.
Both the PHP sample and the Sample Valid API Signature are giving me this:
**{ "status" : "401", "error_message" : "Your authentication failed. Check your authentication details and try again. For more information on signed authentication, see: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/29574176/SignedAuthentication" }**
I am new here and if there is another place to look for support please just point it out and excuse me for wasting your time - I just couldn't see it and I really tried.
Thank you for your time to read this!
Calvin

Well, obviously Rudy is a photography master.
Just... the photography masters don't create pics out of the blue - they are named masters coz they can expose something, say a shining smile of a wonderful person, without losing the touch and feel of it.
So once again - Rudy rullz!
-
So glad the API is working! And thanks for the compliments on the picture. Rudy Lopez, Jen Lopez's husband, took the picture for me. He's the one behind a lot of the pictures at SEOmoz and he does a great job.

Thanks a ton Keri!
Awesome pic btw.
And btw - I just tried it (the API, not the pic and it's working now!
Thanks again!

Hi Calvin,
The best place for an API question is probably over at the API discussion forum at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/categories/6328-seomoz-apis-and-extras, or just sending an email to help@seomoz.org. A few users of the API are here, but those two places are your best options. Thanks!

Search Console says 111 links. Moz says 3\. Do I have a site problem?
I understand that Moz doesn't show all links; but i would think that out of 111 links from 43 root domains, they'd at least show 20 or 30 root domains. I definitely have more than 3 credible sites linking back to me. So do I have an issue? I've been trying to get my site ranking for 9 months, and I've tried EVERYTHING. Still no significant movement. Please help me figure out what's going on. I've been trying to get my site ranking for 9 months, and I've tried EVERYTHING. Still no significant movement. I'm wondering—maybe even hoping—that this will help me uncover a problem that could set the whole thing back on course. Please help me figure out what's going on.

New Mozscape index released! Learn just what's been going on.
Hi everyone, I'm very, very pleased to announce that the latest Mozscape index has been released five days ahead of schedule, and it's back up to the quality you expect from Moz! It's no secret that we've struggled this year with our index. I can't overstate how much we appreciate everyone sticking with us—we know how hard this has been. The good news—well, apart from the early release—is that we've worked out the issue, and we expect to finally be back on track moving forward. Director of Engineering Martin York has shared a post to the Moz blog explaining just what's been going so wrong, and outlining our plan for the future. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being such an incredible community. As for the folks who are seeing Domain Authority and Page Authority drops since the index release, please see Rand's recent post for more.

Problems with Crawl Diagnostics/New Campaign
Hi all I added a new domain to my campaigns yesterday and got the usual message saying we will have a small set of results ready in a couple of hours, and the rest will be done in a week or so. 24 hours later, this same message is still showing. Anyone else experiencing this or is it just related to my domain? Many thanks. Carl

Followerwonk API (401 Unauthorized)
I am trying to use the Followerwonk api and I have changed the C# code from the MozscapeAPI code here for it to work as it uses the same encryption etc. https://github.com/QueryClick/MozscapeAPI The problem I am having is that I generate the correct link but I still get back 401 Unauthorized from Followerwonk it works fine on Mozscape API. https://api.followerwonk.com/social-authority/?screen_name=maximillion195;AccessID=member-NWQyZTI1M2EtMWUyZC01NDJhLThmZW;Timestamp=1368030369;Signature=PxK24AP7cgXMMVhzrU8NSRtSI%3D (I have changed the member ID and Signature) The Link looks right and it defiantly hashes it correctly and the timestamp is set for 20 minutes in the future, Can anyone explain why this is not working. Thanks

I keep getting Authentication Failed on the API
I have the credentials in the URL correctly but it will continue to fail authentication. I will not post them obviously but is there a problem with the API currently? I tried creating new credentials Also I have used this before so I am sure it is not a problem with the credentials. I somehow managed to get Chrome to show the data. Firefox will not and the code i have written also return authentication failed. This is a bug on your end. Please fix it ASAP.

API and bitflag question
I've googled and read and still confused on this. Regarding the link metric bit flags: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/link-metrics I understand everything about how the API works and have it all working, except for this bit flag thing... And there's no example on this page of how to use the bit flags in an API request so it's hard to work it out. My current API call is: "http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/" & $db & "/" & $objectURL & "? SourceCols=" & $SourceCols & "&TargetCols=" & $TargetCols & "&Scope=" & $Scope & "&Sort=page_authority" & "&Filter=" & $Filter & "&AccessID=" & $accessID & "&Expires=" & $expires & "&Signature=" & $urlSafeSignature There are 4 Link Metric Bit Flags: 2, 4, 8, and 16. How do I use those in the above URL Do I use those in SourceCols? And there's about 15 Link Flag Definitions (ranging from 1 to 65536). So I use those in TargetCols? I've tested different variations and I get different responses but the responses aren't documented either. For example, if I get "luutrp":5.432777943351583,"luutrr":1.415861867916131e-14" in a response... what IS luutrp or luutrr. These acronyms are not outlined anywhere that I can find. This link: http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/the-busy-developers-guide-to-seomoz-bit-flags outlines an example but is using Cols (not SourceCols or TargetCols) so either this page is outdated or I'm missing something. Is there also a "Cols" parameter? Basically, I just want: - given a single URL, show me all links (page to page) pointing to that URL, and give me the same information that's displayed in Open Site Explorer (page authority, anchor text, title, etc, etc) but also give me some additional information such as, "is it on the same C block?" What's an example URL for the above request? Really hoping someone can shed some light on this under-documented API.

Need assistance with tool development using SEOMoz & Google APIs
I don't know where the right place to ask this is, but I work for an SEO agency, and we are looking for someone to help us with development of some tools utilizing the SEOMoz API and probably the Google API as well. Does anyone know where I could find a person with some previous experience with development using these APIs? We've had poor luck just trying to use a developer without specific experience in this area or at least some SEO knowledge. If you're a developer and would like to talk with us, you can contact me directly if you prefer, rather than post your contact info publicly, but I welcome any helpful thoughts or ideas regarding development of SEO tools. Thanks,
