How to follow up Google search in a Joomla website
-
Hello !
I'm facing a stupid issue but cannot solve it.
Google Analytics can track the seach into a website.
When I try to activate it I need to add some more parameters that I do not know.

Has anyone ever tried to configure Google analytics search for a Joomla website ?
Tks a lot !

Hello
So I made the following setup http://awesomescreenshot.com/0561bnia48
But I do not exactly understand what do you mean by "start big and then cut"
The ideal for me will just be to know what people are looking into my website.
Tks a lot for your help !

Hi,
In this case it would be q = searchword ?
** Yes, this should be your query parameter.
As far as options - it's a case by case on what you want to track - I would start "big" and then cut and edit things based on the feedback you will receive. It's hard to set the search tracking from the start and get it right (by right I mean exactly what you want to know) - you need some time for "trial and error" to spot the perfect setup - this is only to save time and to make sure you don't miss what's important.
Cheers.

We also have different options:
Search Keyword:
<label id="searchphraseall-lbl" class="radiobtn" for="searchphraseall">All words</label> <label id="searchphraseany-lbl" class="radiobtn" for="searchphraseany">Any words</label> <label id="searchphraseexact-lbl" class="radiobtn" for="searchphraseexact">Exact Phrase</label><label for="ordering">Ordering:</label> <select id="ordering" class="inputbox" name="ordering"> <option selected="selected" value="newest">Newest First</option> <option value="oldest">Oldest First</option> <option value="popular">Most Popular</option> <option value="alpha">Alphabetical</option> <option value="category">Category</option> </select>Search Only: <label for="area_categories">Categories</label> <label for="area_contacts">Contacts</label> <label for="area_content">Articles</label> <label for="area_newsfeeds">Newsfeeds</label> <label for="area_weblinks">Weblinks</label>

Hi,
You just need to perform a search with your joomla search box and look at the url and find the parameter. eg: q=...
Then add the parameter (eg: "q") in the google search track setup.
That should be all.
Hope it helps.

Would having links on wikipedia help search engine rankings?
I am wondering that having a listing on Wikipedia would help search engine rankings in general? I know all of the Wikipedia links are no-follow links but I think it'd still help to rank higher on search engines. What are your thoughts?

Sudden Drop in Organic Traffic through Image Search
We've have been facing a strange issue with our Organic Image Search Traffic since July month, 10th July 2016 to be precise. There is a significant decline in our Organic Image Search Traffic that we can see in our Google Search Console Account, We have noticed a sudden drop (Almost 80%-90%) in our daily clicks through image search in Google Search Console, Does anyone here have any idea why this has happened suddenly though everything is same as it was before and we haven't done any changes in image names and images path. Google update January 2015
Hello, In January 2015, google changed its European Algorithm. The change decreased the ranking of some of our keywords but not all. See article for more evidence in google changing its algorithm. https://www.seroundtable.com/google-update-maybe-19760.html The biggest change was the keyword phrase ‘Wholesale Silver Jewellery’ which we ranked 1 in SERP, but now we’re nowhere to be seen. However, the change didn’t affect our keyword phrase ‘Wholesale Jewellery Silver’, ’Wholesale Silver’ and ‘Wholesale Jewellery. We’ve been through our data and see that all of our ’Silver Jewellery’ keyword phrases are no longer showing in the SERP. Further research has shown that our competitors were also dropped down the rankings for the same keyword phrase. Our question is: Why has this update affected certain keyword phrases, such as ‘silver jewellery’ but not ‘jewellery silver’ and how should we over come this? Additional Information
Algorithm Updates | | SilverStar1
If you type in our company name ‘Mainly Silver’ or ‘mainlysilver’ were still showing in SERP, however if you type ‘mainlysilver jewellery’ we’re no where to be found. We’ve even checked ‘site:mainlysilver.co.uk silver jewellery’ in google search and it returns with ‘no results found’. If you switch the keyword phrase, all our web pages are showing up Our website is - www.mainlysilver.co.uk0 -
Please help explain this (Question about search results)
What's up SEO's, I'm new the SEO world and had a quick question. I just installed the MOZBAR and did a google search: "What is Google Voice" I attached an image of the results I received. Can someone explain how MacWorld's article outranked Google's when both Google's Page Authority and Domain Authority are so much stronger than MacWorlds. This is in addition to google having many more links. This is basic, but any insight will be very helpful. Thanks guys! Are Google algos different between .co.uk and .com?
I have a site that is starting to rank well (top 10 to top 50) for dozens of keywords in Google.co.uk but very little traction in .com. Google.com is the primary market. Webmaster tools is set to US, less than 1% of links to the site are the UK TLD or hosted in the UK. Keywords I'm ranking for in UK are medium to high competition with up to 16k exact search volume per month in the US. I just started to get ranked for these keywords in .co.uk in the past week, and I do rank for some long tail keywords in google.com. I have a handful of keywords ranking in google.ca and google.fr as well, but next to nothing for google.com. I have been building links for one month. I can think of a few possible explanations: - There is a delay in updating the rankings for Google.com and the rankings similar to my .co.uk rankings will come soon - Google.com vs .co.uk use a different algorithm - My site is penalized in .com only Of course, there is no way to be sure what the reason is, but what do you think is the most likely? Thanks!

Rankings changing every couple of MINUTES in Google?
We've been experiencing some unusual behaviour in the Google.co.uk SERPs recently... Basically, the ranking of some of our websites for certain keywords appears to be changing by the minute. For example, doing a search for "our keyword" might show us at #20. Then a few minutes later, doing the same search shows us at #14, and then the same search a few minutes later shows us at #26, and then sometimes we're not ranked at all, etc etc. I know the algorithm changes a lot, but does it really change every couple of minutes? Has anyone else experienced this kind of behaviour in the SERPs? What could be causing it to happen?

Any ideas on how Google +1 handles URLs and canonicals?
If your URL string shows up in a search and they +1 the URL with the coding in it will the +1 transfer to the canonical page? Example: site.com/locations/arizona/?utm_source=go gets a Google +1 from a user. The page itself has a canonical for site.com/locations/arizona/ Does google credit the canonical with the +1 or do they then have dup pages with separate +1 scores?
