Is it possible to set a Goal conversion tracking from a subdomain to a root domain?
-
Hi Mozzers,
Here is an issue I am going through:
- I have a root domain(www.example.com) that is the core website where you are able to schedule a service
- I have a subdomain (sub.example.om) that is part of content strategy offering free tips and follows a different branding strategy.
- There are internal links from sub to root domain
- I have a GA subdomain tracking code installed on every page for both domains
I would love to set goal tracking on GA for visitors coming to my subdomain, then going to root domain and then schedule a sevices? Is this possible? If it is, can someone show me a How To because I tried it anddidn't work?
Thanks mozzers!

You can set up the goals in the subdomains profiles if you want to view goals there. That's entirely up to you. Each profile is its own thing. When I say "filter", I mean write "example.com" into the search box there, and search by it. You can also click "advanced" next to the search box, and make the search more granular if needbe.

Hi John,
One thing I am confused about. Should I have the goals set in the subdomain profile? domain or the combined profile? I would think this should be on the combined profile, right?
Also when you say "filter by example.com", you can only do that by adding a secondary dimension "landing Page URL path" right or you meant something else?
thanks John!

So... if you have these set up as separate profiles, and have a profile that's just for the www.example.com subdomain, and have set up the scehdule a service action as a goal, you should be able to see this in your conversion paths report. Go to Conversions > Multi-Channel Funnels > Top Conversion Paths. Select "Source/Medium Path" as the Primary Dimension. Now, if you filter by "example.com", this should show conversions that involve referrals from your subdomains (that aren't a part of that GA profile). If you have many goals and only are interested in the schedule a service goal, then select only that goal at the top.
As is the case many times in Google Analytics, there's more than one way to skin a cat, but hopefully this works for you.

Any possibility to track goal completions/conversions at a sub-page (non-landing page) level in Google Analytics?
We’re promoting our sub-page it's http://www.flightcentre.ca/flights/london on our homepage under the slideshow so I need to see how many people went to the homepage, then went to this page, and then converted (enquired or booked.) What I can’t see is how many people did that. I know how to look up how many people landed on that page and then converted, but I need to know how many people navigated there and then converted. Is that possible? I can only see Goal Completions if I look at that page as a landing page, but that only presents a very slim view of the total visits when compared to those pages generally. Any way to check the entire behavior or activities happening through this page i.e. /flights/london?

Tracking Adwords users who sumbit a contact form after clicking through my Landing page.
I have a user, Jane, who comes to my landing page through an AdWords campaign. She click off my landing page, browses the website, then submits a contact form on one of the other pages on the site. My problem is when I receive the email from the contact form, there is no identification that this user came through adwords. If she had submitted the contact form on my landing page this wouldn't be a problem, but she submitted the form from elsewhere on the site. I know that I can see a NUMBER of how many goal conversions were achieved this way in Analytics. This is not what I want. I need something to identify it on the CONTACT FORM so that the intake staff in my office can credit that lead to the correct campaign. Any idea on how to achieve this. Technically, I am using the latest version of Wordpress and the Contact Form 7 plug-in. I can change plug-ins if needed.

Question regarding on tracking
Hi guys, We are tshirts printing company.
Conversion Rate Optimization | | WayneRooney
We have of course a website and we have around 18k monthly visitors.
We get around 75 daily quotes.
We are not E commerce so we dot sale on the website. We can get all the information from Google analytic regarding to how many quotes we got and from where they came from but we can't know how many quotes was converted. I heard that i can add ref code on the url and then i will see that code in our quotes system and i will know from where that quote arrived.
Another thing that i know i can do is that the system will remember that first url that the visitor enters the site so like that i can know exactly from each url we got the quote and i know that the professional name for this is SESSION. So after all this, the obvious questions here is, Is everything that im saying here is make sense ?
Can i add SESSION to WordPress site ? And how easy is that/or the cost for that ?
For all of you the expert out there, is this the right way to track everything if you are not eCommerce ? Any help are welcome !!0 -
Video Conversions
1)I have observed that female voice converts more then male voice in videos. Any one had experienced this stat? 2)Videos without person reading the slides, what's your take on this? As far as my experiences I have made some videos with music background only, but it seems like that videos with person's voice convert more. Is there any video regarding video conversions and video backlinks.

Setting Up Ecommerce Tracking for Google Analytics?
Hello SEOmoz members, this is my first forum post, so i hope that it goes well. my question for today is, How can i set up set up Ecommerce Tracking for Google Analytics, if my website Does NOT use a Shopping Cart tool? I am currently SEO'ing a couple of Translation Service websites, and the Ordering System is a little different from the regular Shopping Cart tool that you would normally find on a Product website. so far i have added the analytics code to all the pages so i can track my SEO efforts, but is there no way to track the sales from each visitor if the website only provides Quotes? the website has a Quote form setup into 3 steps, and at the end of step 3, a general price is generated for the visitor and a CSR is supposed to contact them to completete the order. we can normally see the total orders and clients in our own system, but does anyone have any way to combine SEO with this information, like how google analytics Ecommerce can? if anyone could provide any helpful information, i would be very Greatful. thank you!

Need help Tracking PPC vs Organic and respective ROI
So I have a client who uses PPC and Organic SEO to drive traffic. Once a user gets to the site, the most common action is to fill out a form. I have Auto Tagging enabled in Adwords so all PPC clicks have "gclid" in the url. I am also grabbing the Google Cookie and parsing it out to determine if the visitor is PPC or Organic. So I have an if statement in my form code to pass PPC vs organic through the form for tracking purposes: $url = 'http://' . $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] . $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; if (false !== strpos($url,'gclid')) { ?> Essentially this is saying: If gclid is in the url, or if the cookie contains PPC

We haven't been able to figure it out and know other ecommerce sites have had to have figured this out.We have GA Ecommerce tracking on. How can we find last months sales: source / medium / keyword / landing page / revenue / etc Sorry if this is an obvious question. We have spent a lot of time trying to figure it out.
