Website ROI for organic SEO

A potential client would like to see published industry reports on ROI for SEO projects before they commit to doing. Please could you point me to some credible industry reports that shows the direct impact of organic SEO.
I think that it would help if this report had organic click through rates, an increase in organic traffic as well as ranking info. if available. Thanks.

This is a bit of a catch 22... The overall benefit of SEO will vary from site to site, the only way to prove it will work on your clients site is to do it!
Explain to them that optimising the content will not only improve SEO rankings but also help with converting users from others sources. This is because ultimately SEO is all about optimising your sites for user experience.
Optimised content = better user experience = more conversions = better search engine ranking!

Every seo engagement is completely different. Different starting points, objectives, resources and so on making this type of industrial report/comparable ROI analysis near impossible to be completed. The ones you do find typically fits someones agenda making the report extremely biased (as EGOL stated).

Most of the reports that are published are case studies of kickass results. Nobody writes up their busts.
The real bottom line is.... ROI varies wildly from one "SEO expert" to another... and just to be fair... for some websites you need a magician instead of an SEO.

Forget the industry standards. This data should be in your clients analytics. They should be able to see the %of traffic and conversion rates for organic vs paid vs direct. I would bet that organic converts the best, and if that is true and you can increase the proportion of traffic from organic, then you have a winning solution for them that is specific to their site and industry.

Best Way to Promote Other Authors SEO?
Wanted to get the communities feedback on this. WDAC is designing a new section of our site. This new section is aimed at helping small businesses that want to get SEO help, but are not in a position financially/do not want to pay an agency for help. The page can be viewed here: http://www.webdesignandcompany.com/expert-seo-tips The page is called "Expert SEO Tips" and we are going to promote other authors content that focuses on high quality articles around SEO tactics, methods, tips, tricks, etc. There are a few articles listed on the page based around what we have shared in the past, but you can see that the page/section is still in its infancy and may change to a new layout/design in the near future. The section will summarize the article we are linking to , and provide a link to the authors Twitter/G+ profile, depending upon what they have setup. We have reached out to a few places in the Google+ communities asking for articles and submissions, but have had little success. Strange due to the fact that we are providing outgoing links without requesting one back...hmmm. Anyway, what do any of you think would be the best way to get people to respond? Also, does anyone see any issues with adding this type of content to our site using followed links, specifically since we are linking out to relevant articles related to our own services? Does anyone see any potential pitfalls? Does anyone have any articles they think would be a great addition or provide help to business owners? All input and insight is appreciated! Do old links from my own unrelated subject websites improve or hinder my rankings?
Several years ago I placed links on two of my other websites I own and control one my old company about CCTV installation and the other one is the official website for actor Sir Roger Moore. The links are going to my holiday cottage letting website http://www.endeavourcottage.co.uk/ and at the time I wanted to improve my rankings with these links which are still there. The vast majority of my other inbound links are natural and are on other people's websites with some diversity regarding the anchor text. So my question is the old links on these unrelated subject websites which are also stored on the same web hosting company causing a problem and would it be beneficial to remove them to leave them in place? Also several years ago I set up two other websites at the same hosting company also promoting holiday cottages in the same place thinking I might have more bites of the cherry, but they've produced very little traffic and are not ranked at all well, but they do links to my main letting website, could these because in a problem? My domain authority seems to be equal to some of the companies which are higher placed for the short tail keywords on page 1 of Google and they have less inbound links, although they are usually bigger companies and I know many things which influence rankings. I am trying strategies to improve the rankings, which have dropped to a small degree over recent months.

Just want to know if others have seen simliar results with Squidoo's organic visits
I have some old squidoo pages and yes they haven't been tended to as well as my other content that is outperforming it, and yes that could be why. So rather than asking why it is underperforming, I just want to know if anyone else has heard that Squidoo was in line for a spanking, or if anyone else has seen similar organic reductions.
