Website title next to a post title-how to remove it?

I just have checked on some of the keyword I am ranking for and found in the serp that next to the post I have also the site name. But I thought that I have remove it.
Does somebody know how to remove it? perhaps I did not do it correctly. I am also using yoast seo plugin but I do not have it set there to show the site name after posts name.
Can somebody help me to fix this please?
I have also attached an image from the serp where is behind the post title also Villas Diani-the site name

You can also try the 'Force rewrite titles' option in the Yoast settings. Sometimes this can help to remove unwanted site names from the title.

Hi Iris,
You can check the page source of the page you are looking at (right click and view source) and if the title tag near the top has the name of the site at the end then yes obviously it is being put in there by some setting and you can follow what Free Range has said below. I looked at a couple of your pages and did not see this, so it looks at first glance that your setup is ok and that the site name is being put in by google.

No Don't remove it. Don't worry about general settings, just add a new title in SEO Title every time

Oh I see, so I input the title into each post. Thank you so much!
And then in general settings for post types in title templates for post and pages I have this %%title%% should I remove it? I am afraid if I write a title into each post and will still keep this in templates it will create 2 titles perhaps?

In post titles in the plugin I have set to show only the post name.

Just change the SEO title in the Yoast plugin. This will get rid of the site name at the end.
I just cut and paste the title into the SEO Title to overwrite it

It i probably google deciding to rewrite the titles for you, Yoast himself makes a mention of it here: http://yoast.com/google-page-title/ In short, not much you can do about it.

Ranking drop after new website
Hi there, I have a new client who has just had a new website built (by someone else). It was quite a major change as it was 12 years old and has just been moved to Wordpress. However although they are by and large happy with the new site, they have lost a lot of their rankings in Google. The content and menu structure is apparently identical. I told them I didn't think this was unusual but I'm not sure how easy it will be to get them ranking again. Where are they likely to be starting from? Is it a case of starting from the beginning or will there be some residual ranking capability left over? Or can they expect a full recovery over time? I was going to start by looking to see if things like tagging and meta data has been filled in (I will add the site to my Moz account) but is there any way of comparing the old site with the new for SEO purposes? Is it necessary to Remove 301 redirects from Wordpress after removing the 404 url from Google Webmaster?
There were many 404 urls in my site found by Google Webmaster. I've redirected these urls to the relevant urls with 301 redirect in wordpress. After that I removed these 404 urls from Google Index through Webmaster. "Should I cleanup these 301 redirects from Wordpress or not? ". Help Needed.

Where should I spend Money on my website?
My website is www.capitolshine.com what do you think? Where should I spend money to enhance SEO search results? I do have a limited budget but the company is growing quickly and I might have more funds to invest in a few months. Meta Title and Description for click through optimization
I have a few years experience optimizing PPC text for click-through and conversion rates. I don't see many web sites that are using these methods for their organic listings generated from meta tags. Why is this? So many meta tags seem to be either keyword stuffed or auto generated. From my research, it seems that keywords in meta tags mean little to search engine optimization other than the fact that vertically aligning keywords from search phrase to listing to landing page is important. (Just like it is in PPC). Now that I am personally doing more than just PPC, I have begun rewriting meta text for increased conversions. The search results look to me like My web site is the only one doing this. Is everyone missing out on something, or am I missing something?
