CPC or CPM for Google Display Network?
-
HI all
I'm setting up my first Remarketing campaign on the display network. I'm targeting those that have visited a specific product page at the moment and therefore there won't be a massive amount of traffic to remarket to - roughly no more than 50 clicks/day.
My question is - what is the best bidding option for a campaign like this? Not sure whether to go for CPM or traditional CPC. I have previously found CPM much better for Facebook but obviously thats very different to Google.
All help appreciated!

hey Sam! Happy to have been of help, I'll double check if I find the way google calculates it just for knowledge.
Happy remarketing!!

Thanks for your help, after reading these responses I think I will stick to CPC! As a pointer though, CPM in my experience has worked significantly better/cheaper than CPC on Facebook for anyone interested!

That makes sense with regards to Google translating CPM bids, so you cant really gain a benefit of either method - If you pay CPM and get a great CTR, Google will just make it more expensive thereby making it equivalent to CPC.
I asked an Adwords advisor about this and they were clueless - pretty much said its the same either way, didn't see at first how that could be the case (or why they would offer two different methods if they simply tailor them so there is no advantage from either).
Thanks for your help, think I will stick to traditional CPC!

It really depends on which are your purposes. 99% of the tiem remarketing campaigns are pointing to direct response goals. In that sense it may be best to use CPC bidding to better calculate your ROI.
If your remarketing campaign are for branding purposes then a CPM may be the best way to be sure your ad is getting the highest exposure possible.
I think that CPC is the best model in terms of ROI calculations, just depends if you have catchy banners with your phone/branded so you want them to be shown as much as possible or if you have text links pointing to your best converting page.
Moreover. I remember that google translates CPC bids into eCPM ones when competing which means that if your CTR is really low you may risk of paying even more than by bidding with CPM. I can't reckon the exact formula, maybe someone can help here, but I remember that if your CTR is lower than 0,10% you may consider CPM since you're paying much less for 1 click than for a thousand impressions. (need more insight on this)

For re-targeting i always do cpc because after people see an ad a couple of times the predicted click rate drops, So it ends up being cheaper then cpm.

Google Analytics showing my Adwords campaign bounce rate at 0%
I am relatively new to Adwords, and I can't figure out why the Adwords section of Analytics is showing all my site visitors at 0% bounce rate. Does that mean the account connection is not done right? Obviously Google ads are not a 0% bounce rate. If I can't get that to work, does anyone know how Google ads appear in Traffic? Is it Direct or Referral? I'm sure there's some simple answer I'm just not aware of, I would appreciate anyone's help. Thanks!

Google Giving 404 Errors to Working Pages
We have a problem that just came up out of the blue with Google, in particular Webmaster Tools & our Merchant Center. We're getting a 404 errors for 1000s of pages in both of these applications, but the pages are working just fine. Our shopping campaigns have been hit hard as many of our top products have been suspended from our merchant feed. Webmaster tools is giving us 1000s of 404 errors to product & category pages alike. But every page returning a 404 error is working. We've contacted Google and they mention that they are not getting a 404 error, but their crawler seems to be. Has anyone ever experienced this? What could be causing this? Thanks for any input.

How Can I Target Certain Countries in Google AdWords without Excluding Other Countries?
So, here is the situation: Our company works with merchants worldwide (with the exception of those who live in excluded high-risk countries--mostly in Africa), but most of our Google AdWords leads come from Indian merchants. My CEO wants our campaigns to convert leads from other countries (i.e., the UK, Germany, US, Canada, Australia, etc.), but I have no idea how to do that without excluding India. However, my CEO does not want to exclude India from our AdWords campaigns as the leads are profitable. We simply want more diversity with out leads in terms of geographic location. I am sure there are resources on the Web about how to do this, but I am not an Adwords expert and am unsure of what phrases to search to find the answers. Direct advice or helpful links are much appreciated. Regards,

Social Media black hat methods - can google see this?
My site was hit by a Penguin or Panda, for some bad linking in 2012. Ever since then I have been 100% completely white hat, being careful who I pick to my marketing. Once burnt.... Recently, with all the hype of social media being the thing to help you boast rankings, it got me wondering about how Google really can monitor this. I saw this the other day on Elance... I need 5000 Facebook fans. They must be real looking and be coming from US IPs, Preferable real looking US accounts. If people are just going to get false Facebook fans, tweets etc.... then it is no better than all the bad linking. Perhaps Google will come out with Puma penalty (well we have pandas and penguins)

Two google analytics accounts on one site.
I've got a client who is using a third party for cpc ads, to track these we need to give the third party admin access to google analytics. Being that we are seeing massive discrepancies in reported cpc ads and refunds etc.. have been offered, I can't trust that as an admin they won't delete the profile with all data proving reason for refund. Can we create a second google analytics account (not profile) to protect the data? We want to give access to sensis to the new account so we can start seeing the cpc separation in traffic source from now while ensuring the existing account can't disappear.

What is the definition of 'Paid links' for Google ?
Many high authority sites are doing paid text linking and linking sites through 'Sponosred linking' sections, But, Google does not seem to be bothered. Just because they are already ruling the industry. Sponsored links are obviously not natural, they are absolutely paid, still Google is giving them priority that is why only people are paying huge for them. Please go through the website http://goo.gl/tgfH and see "Sponored link" section So, What actually Google considers as paid link? nNolr nNolr
