How long does it take for google to update title and metadata?

I updated my site's title and description about a week ago, however for some reason it's still not reflected in google search results. Here's my site and try searching for 'shopious directory'. Any idea why this is? I tried looking at webmaster tool and it seems that google didn't have any errors. Why is it still showing the old data?

I know it's a little late, but my site has the same problem, and it's annoying to see. I know next time google crawl my site, I will have a better ranking, but its been over a month now. So if anybody has a solution to my problem I would be happy

I'm not sure how this is still a conversation. The topic creator's site has been indexed and the current title and meta description is showing in Google's SERPs...
So... There's your answer?

LIke others have said. It can vary from site to site. I have seen examples where it has been the next day and others 2-3 weeks later. Google typically deep crawls a site a minimum of once a week but it does not guarantee that it will crawl all pages when it does so it may have been missed in the latest crawls. I have found also, sites with sound internal link structures get more pages crawled at a time. I guess the google crawler likes a easy read of a site.

Hi, it very much depends on the individual site and how often it is updated normally.
For pages like on this forum. Google spiders and updates within 30 minutes or so it seems. If your site is updated less often then it will take longer for Google to revisit.
A week would be a reasonable average I guess. I assume you submitted a sitemap? Was it just the Title tag and Meta description that changed?
It's possible you could still be queued for a revisit but I would have thought it wouldn't take much longer.

It generally takes like a day, tops from my experience.
Yours is done and updated. I'm not sure why you think it isn't. I'm looking at it now for that search string and it's showing me the same title that is displaying on your homepage. It is also displaying the meta description listed in your source code. (NOTE: Your meta description is too long so it is not entirely displayed.)
I updated my site's title the other day and it was done by the time I came into work the next morning.
Perhaps clear you cache, make sure you're searching de-personalized, etc..?

Why isn't our complete meta title showing up in the Google SERPS? (cut off half way)
We carry a product line, cutless bearings (for use on boats). For instance, we have one, called the Able, that has the following meta title (and searched by View Page Source to confirm): BOOT 1-3/8" x 2-3/8" x 5-1/2" Johnson Cutless Bearing | BOOT Cutlass However, if I search for it on on Google by part number or name (boot cutless bearing, boot cutlass bearing), the meta title comes back with whole first part chopped off, only showing this : "x 5-1/2" Johnson Cutless Bearing | BOOT Cutlass - Citimarine ..." Any idea why? Video titles and descriptions
Hi everyone, I have a question about embedding videos on a website: if you optimize the title and description for the video in Youtube, will these be taken into account for the ranking of the page where the video is embedded? Or will only the Youtube link for the video show in SERP's, instead of the page itself? I've read in a post of Phil Nottingham that it's usually not a good idea to embed a Youtube video on your own site, but use Wistia instead, exactly to avoid cannibalisation of your own rankings. Is this correct? Thanks!

How to rank my website in Google UK?
Hi guys, I own a London based rubbish removal company, but don't have enough jobs. I know for sure that some of my competitors get most of their jobs trough Google searches. I also have a website, but don't receive calls from it at all. Can you please tell me how to rank my website on keywords like: "rubbish removal london", "waste clearance london", "junk collection london" and other similar keywords? I know that for person like me (without much experience in online marketing) will be difficult task to optimize the website, but at least - I need some advices from where to start. I'm also thinking to hire an SEO but not sure where to find a trusted company. Most importantly I have no idea how much should pay to expect good results? What is too much and what is too low? I will appreciate all advices.

My site shows 503 error to Google bot, but can see the site fine. Not indexing in Google. Help
Hi, This site is not indexed on Google at all. http://www.thethreehorseshoespub.co.uk Looking into it, it seems to be giving a 503 error to the google bot. I can see the site I have checked source code Checked robots Did have a sitemap param. but removed it for testing GWMT is showing 'unreachable' if I submit a site map or fetch Any ideas on how to remove this error? How to find all indexed pages in Google?
Hi, We have an ecommerce site with around 4000 real pages. But our index count is at 47,000 pages in Google Webmaster Tools. How can I get a list of all pages indexed of our domain? trying to locate the duplicate content. Doing a "site:www.mydomain.com" only returns up to 676 results... Any ideas? Thanks, Ben

Google places keyword variations
Hi all, I have a site that is ranking #1 in Google Places for its main <city><keyword>search... but it does not rank for any of its basic keyword variations, which I find very confusing.</keyword></city> ie (just an example) Chicago Caterer (ranked #1 in google places)

Chicago Catering Companies (etc..) How can I secure a google places ranking for these simple keyword variations? Do I build links to the google plus page using that anchor text? Do I get citations that contain that keyword somewhere on the page? Do I optimize for these keyword variations on the actual website itself? (not the places listing). How long does it typically take for SEO efforts to materialize? We recently performed a complete website redesign (new site, and am wondering how long we should wait until we analyze the results and possibly change our seo/keyword strategy?
