What does the Pinterest [Love] button do?

I see a Pinterest button with a heart on it. What does it do? What benefit do I get when someone clicks on the [Love] button on my board?

In Pinterest, the little heart button is just like the Facebook "Like" icon. (But they had to be different, so it's a heart, meaning you love it. But not in the till-death-do-us-part way.)

What's a like? (The Heart Shaped Thing)
Liking a pin adds the pin to your profile’s likes section rather than a specific board.
To like a pin, hover over the pin and click on the heart icon in the top right corner.
What's a pin?
A pin is an image or video you add to Pinterest that leads back to the site where it was found. You can pin anything you find on Pinterest or around the web.
Having lots and lots of people pin a product on your website, or an image or video on your page adds to it's social media profile, and should help with both consumer engagement and possibly rankings.

Is there a functional difference between the "google +1" button and the "G+"? Has there been any conclusive research done regarding their affect on SEO?
Google used to offer a +1 button but that seems to have gone away in favor of the new google +1 button or the G+ buttons. On the new Google+ Local pages, I was wondering if anyone knew how to add the "Follow" button to lead to the company Google+ profile.
I saw a video on an Internet marketing blog that showed a company's Google+ Local page with a "Follow" button on it so people could follow their company Google+ profile.

Are links from Pinterest 'do follow'/do they have any SEO benefit?
Afternoon all, I know there is a question about Pinterest that was asked in February but I guess it was a fairly new beast then and people were still unsure about its use for marketing/SEO etc. I run an events business and on our Pinterest profile I tend to pin random stuff I find on the net, themes we are running (directly from our website) and other Pinterest users. I have received several 're-pins' and people are really starting to follow us now. What I am keen to know is whether or not having lots of followers/re-pins on Pinterest has the same effectiveness from an SEO perspective as having lots of Facebook/Twitter/Google+ followers and whether or not these re-pins are 'do follow' links or have any SEO benefit whatsoever? Is the following entirely correct? What would you add or subtract?: Google+ is making its presence known in the Google search results. One of the main benefits of using Google+ for your business is that your Google+ posts are indexed in Google. The more you post, the more likely your content will show up in search results. Things you can do today that will improve your visibility using Google+: Optimize your "About" page. Add keywords to your Google+ profile and links to your website using keywords as anchor text. Add links to your website, social networks, and blog in the "recommended links" section on Google+ page. Add a link (or icon) to your Google+ page on your website, blog, social networks, and your email signature. Add a +1 button to your website. The number of +1s a page gets will show up in the search results, even if a searcher is not logged into Google+. How can I work out who pressed my Google +1 button?
With Facebook likes it comes up on Facebook, telling you who pressed the 'like' button. You also get the number of people that like it. Is there something like this for the +1 button? I can work it out through webmaster tools, but this is delayed data, unlike the Facebook 'likes' which is instant. Is there a way of knowing who pressed your +1 button straight away, like on Facebook?
