Landing page on a separate domain?
-
I want to start a PPC campaign for an ecommerce site, but my ads are rejected due to my URL being offensive. The name works great from a branding perspective, but it has kept me from being listed in certain directories and advertisements.
I thought about buying a separate domain to host the landing pages for the PPC campaign where the user would then be redirected to my product page for purchasing.
Is this a good idea? Would you recommend another approach?

Google does have a TOS line against doorway pages: sending traffic to Domain1.com, but Domain1.com has no other purpose than to send its traffic based on any action to Domain2.com

For paid search, I dont feel there is any real negative impact to using a separate domain for your landing pages. If this were an SEO question, I'd advise against it. But for PPC, it's safe. I don't think there is any better approach if you are dealing with an offense "penalty" like that.
On a side note, make sure to the end user you are clear and above board and not using any bait-n-switch tactics with this. Use your logo, your general site design, and so forth on the landing pages (which, I assume, link back to your main domain). It's bad form to do otherwise and while the engines won't penalize you, your customers will. PPC e-commerce is very conversion-focused so make sure you dont inhibit that by making the customer flow feel spammy or unethical.
But there is no real risk to using other domains for PPC landing pages. Many large corporations do that currently.
