Best SEO agency

What are peoples thoughts and ratings on SEO agencies in London. There are so many of them it is hard to understand which are the best.

NEVER go on whats in the SERPs. Get recommendations - so MOz is a good place to start.
Why not look for the really technical SEO posts on moz and then approach those companies? I can recommend Distilled
You could look at the http://moz.com/community/users users board and pick someone from London that has a ton of points - this indicates they have been helpful to the SEO community over a number of years. I'm at 21 and I am based in London. Marcus Miller is at 12 and he is based in Birmingham
There is also a MOZ recommended list http://moz.com/community/recommended

We too are also going though a similar problem, we started with searching in google and looking at who came top for search queries like "SEO Company London" a bit obvious I know but we figured if they cam e top for a search result like that they might actually be good at it.
However after much pondering and toing a throwing and being general amazed at the cost of such an engagement, we decided to start to create our own SEO strategy. After we got clear on what the strategy was we then became clear on what we needed to do and a project plan started to form.
We then started to look at what we could do ourselves in a short space of time to start the SEO ball rolling.
Simple stuff like meta tags, sitemaps and page content relevancy need lots of work. so we set about doing this first, after all if your content is not right you don't want it on the search engines yet.We have now since decided to employ our own in house SEO team and believe that is the best way forward especially for getting the biggest bang for your £.
But we did not realise any of this until we had worked out our own SEO strategy and saw the bigger picture. So the point is think hard first about your strategy and find what fits best. Ask some of the SEO companies to come up with a strategy that they would use for your site and see how it compares to your own vision, If they share it then they could be the SEO team for you.
It is a scary world out there with so Many SEO companies after your ££££
However that said If anyone has a good unbiased referral to a hard working white hat SEO agency I would also be interested.Thank you

Do You Work At Home As An SEO Or Have An Office?
I'm curious how many of you all work at home or mostly at home either through an company or freelance. Or are most of you employed at a corporation? My company was recently bought by a very large global company. Recently I found out that all the SEO and web design is contracted through outside sources. With the headquarters in Europe, this being my primary job function I kinda feel well you know.... down.. Websites I put my life into for the last 7 years are going to be handed over to a corporation to do with whatever they feel they should. I know they were never really mine, but when you spend so much of your life to making them the best you can, so much so to attract the attention of a global billion dollar company, you should feel great right? But I feel like my dog just died. I don't have a bad impression of the company but the shift of moving me to the IT guy has begun. Normal web updates I would have done, are now being pushed aside. I don't hate IT I like helping others, but I really loved being able to make a difference through the web. Now I'm left contemplating my future, big corporations have so much bs, I just don't feel comfortable. I would really appreciate you all giving me your thoughts and tell me about any similar experiences you have had in your life. Cheers, Don

Best Site or Place to Hire Mid Level SEO Specialists
Hello Mozzers, Our digital agency has been continuously growing which is a good thing BUT recruiting for Junior or Mid Level SEO Specialists is getting harder in our area (we are in Orlando Florida). We post on Indeed.com but the level of knowledge and also the amount of candidates is not a lot. Do you know any other site that only pertains to our industry? Any suggestions? In fact, its been hard , we are even thinking of developing a job board site just for our niche. Your recommendation and thoughts?

Ideal SEO / Social Media Employee Skillset
I’ve been wondering recently what makes a good SEO / Social Media employee. It seems to me that SEO and Social Media are in the process of merging into a single role. What are your thoughts on the skills that this new world SEO / Social Media employee would need? Or do you think these roles should ideally remain separate and that a “traditional” SEO is more what is needed? My own role has been moving much more towards social media recently and I was wondering if this was a common trend!

What is the best place to learn reputation management, with regards to SEO
I have a new client that needs help with a bad review. Of course it may not be able to be deleted, but I have started to scratch the surface on how to help 'push it down' using SEO. Can any offer advice on a definitive source of learning reputation management? Many thanks!

How do I "link" up with USA based SEO's
After 28 long years of wait this year I finally made it to the United States of America. I grew up on "The A Team" , "Knight Rider" and Mcdonalds cheese burgers from 2 years onwards. I am as American as a English person could possibly be. It wasn't until I arrived in Florida and spent two weeks in the great country that I understood the difference in the minds and mentality of people. People were nicer ! People on the whole had a can do mentaily. If your a success people congratulate you for it . Unlike the UK.... Plus people were not scared to make a fool of themselves... (People jumping up and down at traffic lights with advertising boards) Now to my question - I loved it so much I want to go back and I figured me and my wife and 3 year old may have a extended break next time where I can work on vacation maybe over a month or so. I would love to get to know as many SEO's and people based in the USA as possible please and introduce myself etc. Hey who knows maybe SEO Moz can change my future (fingers crossed) Thanks to all the people that get in touch !
