Wordpress Custom Permalinks Plugin Issue

Hello,
I installed this plugin and I'm having trouble making it work. I'm new to WordPress so was hoping someone can help me out.
I'm looking to set up the following pages for example
http://testsite.azurewebsites.net/Services/Services1
http://testsite.azurewebsites.net/Services/Services2I do the following steps
- Add New Page
- Enter the following title "Services1"
- Enter the following text in the Permalink textbox "Services/Services1" replacing the default text "?page_id=140"
- Then I publish the page.
- This automatically updates the "Custom Fields" section below. The name is set to "custom_permalink" and the value is set to "Services/Services1".
- Then I "view page" but get a 404 error. The url is "http://testsite.azurewebsites.net/Services/Services1"
Some additional info
- 1. WordPress version 9.8.3
- Settings - Permalinks is set to "post name"
- Custom Permalinks version 0.7.18
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It should work with posts, pages, custom post types, etc without needing that plugin.

I've a couple of questions before I go ahead and implement those changes.
- Will this work for pages and not just blog posts? I'm more concerned about the pages right now.
- Also will I just be able to use the Permalinks section in Settings or will I need to install the Custom Permalinks plugin to be able to produce page urls such as
companyname/services/oracle/admin
companyname/services/oracle/dev
companyname/services/SAP/admin

I don't host my WordPress sites on IIS but according to their site, you have three choices for custom permalinks on IIS-
Microsoft IIS 7+ web server with the URL Rewrite 1.1+ module and PHP 5 running as FastCGI
Microsoft IIS 6+ using ASAPI_Rewrite (free for single-site server, $$ for multi-site server)
Microsoft IIS 6+ using Ionic ISAPI Rewriting Filter (IIRF) (free for single-site or multi-site server)I got the above from this page.

Hi Marty,
Back again. I've been working on this issue again this morning and now have admin access. A few new things have been discovered. This site is running on Azure and IIS so it seems that the .htaccess file is not needed but instead uses the web.config instead. I've tried updating that per this article but it still doesn't work. I think this might be more for blogs though rather than the plugin I've tried.
Any thoughts?

Is your .htaccess file writeable by the server? If not your permalink (and plugin) settings won't work.

Hi all, My recent site crawl shows 27 4xx issues on this website http://www.rrbusinessconsultants.com/ All of them are for 'posts' on this wordpress website. Here is an example of the issue: http://www.rrbusinessconsultants.com/rr-business-consultants-on-the-rise-of-glassdoor-and-how-companies-are-coping/void(null) The blog page seems to be creating links ending in void(null) which are defaulting to 404 pages. Are wordpress themes like from themeforest bad?
Hi to all. Ok so as I read around the internet I see a lot of people who dislike theme forest and using their themes. I have a them from them, the Avada theme. Ok so they have made a TON of money. But would so many people buy the theme if it was that bad? Going forward, my question is, are wordpress themes a bad thing to do? I feel like its peer pressure to switch to a framework like Genesis. There are so many people who state that a framework and child theme is the way to go. But I am using this avada theme and having under 2.5 sec load times. A lot of people say the code is bloated and is horrible. I understand this and got a cache plugin that makes a huge difference. But I do want to learn and I do want to approach websites in a positive way. So if you have any thoughts on themes, please tell me your thoughts. I am no developer, so they seem to work, but is it at a price? Like bad seo and serps? Thank you chris

Online Catalog (E-commerce like) Wordpress Themes?
I'm currently looking for a Wordpress theme similar to e-commerce/shopping websites like ebay. I'm planning to put up a buy and sell site for shoes where people can upload shoe listings on their own.. The site we're planning doesn't have a buy/checkout button and paypal integration so it will look like more of an online catalog and not a shopping cart. We will just add a contact number/email in the product listing so a buyer can contact and personally meet the seller. Let me know if this can be done in Wordpress + e-commerce plugins. I would also like to know if there's a WP plugin that will allow users to use Facebook or Twitter to login/sign up in our website/platform. Let me know if this is possible in Wordpress by installing a plugin. Thanks in advance!

Panda and Penquin Fall - Could HTML Design an Issue?
Hi, We were hit hard by Panda 3.4 on March 23rd 2012. Then Penguin came along and slapped us down a little farther on April 24th. White hat SEO for 13 years on the site. I have been trying to discover the reason we got hit so hard, to date 90% down. We ae wiped. I have a couple of keywords still #2 and #3 and we see up and down changes in Google webmaster tools, i.e. a keyword is supposedly up 50 points then another down 50. All other 150 keywords that we used to rank on the first page for are not even showing up. I have a person that is about to do a full link analysis but since we never went after links I just never had the feeling that is where our problem is at, but definitely going to explore it. The reason for my post is that last night I spoke with an SEO person that has some pretty good credentials (9 years experience and works currently at large online marketing company with seo with clients like Honda) and he was nice enough to just take a quick look at the site. He said he saw nothing really wrong and did not think that we were hit for any of the normal issues people are listing, i.e. duplicate content, backlinks. His first impression was that we were knocked down because the site is "hard to index". He said the site still uses tables and a lot of our Doc Statements were for HTML 4.01 from 1999. As we all know, there are 'many' experts in this industry. So I wanted a little feedback from the community. Our main site was built in Dreamweaver using tables. We do have a Wordpress blog that is very small and just now posting to add fresh content. (posts seem to rank pretty good, this is why I thought, you know he may be right) Would an older site be penalized like this for using tables? What would you do at this stage if you had a site that is not recovering? I have now reached panic mode and have to do something, just not sure of the next step. Does listing my customer's address, phone number, and a contact form on "every page" count as duplicate content that they'd be penalized for?
I work with small local businesses (like Tree Farms, Feed Stores, Counselors, etc) doing web design, seo, etc. I encourage them to have their contact information visible at all times on their websites. I'm also delving into the world of contact forms. I want to have this info on every page - is this detrimental? Best Wordpress Hosting
I've had a horrible experience with the security on wordpress hosting with GoDaddy. Someone recommended Blue Host as my next option. Does anyone have any experience with BlueHost and what other hosting companies would you recommend for wordpress hosting?
