Which page is currently ranking the best for a particular keyword?
-
Hi Guys!
I have approx. 50 keywords that I'm tracking for a website that has about 80 pages.
I am wondering is there any way that I can find out which page on the site is currently ranking best for each of the keywords on my list?
Ideally I would like to export the entire list with the keyword in the first column and the page that ranks best on the website for each given keyword, in the second column.
Apologies if the wording of this post is confusing - I am not quite sure how to make it clearer.
The aim of my task is to determine which keywords should be allocated to each page on the site so I need to work out which keywords are working already for certain pages so that I don't take those efforts away from the well-optimised pages.
Many thanks!
Meaghan

If you are looking for a more permanent option, use this tool:
http://www.advancedwebranking.com/This rank checker allows you to enter in your own keywords that you want to display the rank of. Better yet, it uses proxy servers so the results dont count against you. Only thing I would mention is to not run the report more often then once every two weeks, as this will make your impression count go way up.
Here is a link to a site we set up a long time ago:
http://www.woodlandwindows.com/awr/All the keyword choices showing up were ones that we chose. The front page listings show up in bold, so it's easy to see what is ranking, and what isn't. You don't have to have that large of a list.
Also, if you are trying to use a free platform to help, Google analytics can show you your top visited pages, which more than likely has a direct effect on your topp ranking pages. When you link your webmaster account and analytics accounts together, you can view search query and keyword ranking info.

Hi Meaghan,
The rank tracker I use will offer this information, and would be happy to set this up and run the report for you if you wish? It will tell you which pages are ranking for which phrases. I can export it and drop this back over.
Drop me an e-mail to info (@) inetseo.co.uk

Hi Meaghan,
What you could do is use a rank tracker and add your 50 keywords to it. If you're able to export them it could tell you what kind of pages are already ranking for the right search terms. In the old days I would have used Bradleys option and have gone with Google Analytics. But as it won't tell you the keywords anymore it's really hard to make a good decision based on that lack of data.

Google analytics should give you this information pretty clearly.

Wordpress SEO: Category page + Product page or only category page?
Trying to improving my website's ranks on google for a specific keyword (e.g. Samsung S6), I'm thinking about doing some experiments. I've a wordpress based blog. Now, I've the category "Samsung S6" (url: example.com/samsung-s6), with only the latest 6 news (with excerpts) + pagination. This ranks good, but it's a bit ugly as a landing page and I want a better rank. I could improve this page by customizing the template and adding some static text, but it could be a time-consuming solution considering that I'm using a third party theme and I should check this every update. Also, it's harder to customize this page then the next solution: I'm thinking about creating a new page Samsung S6 (url: example.com/samsungs6). This page will contain a product overlay (e.g. RAM, HD, screen size etc.), + product description with features and a small review of it's elements (e.g. camera description with results, suggested applications etc.) + some images/youtube videos + latest 6 news (without excerpts) + some links to other relevant pages in my website for that product, including a link to the category page. What will happen in terms of SEO? Any idea if the new page could rank better than the category page, considering that it has more static elements? Not sure if google could detects duplicates, or two page comepting for the same keyword on the same website is a bad thing. Which are your ideas? Is it ok to have two pages competing for the same keyword on the same website?

On-page optimization for closely related keywords or acronyms of keywords
We are in the process of on-page optimization for a site that sells one kind of software. We are trying to optimize each page for a target keyword and variations of the keyword, however we have more pages than keyword variation types, so I'm looking for feedback on whether the below plan would be keyword cannibalization. Examples: URL: www.domain.com/product
Keyword Research | | seo_1234b
Tarket Keyword: device imaging software
Title Tag: Device Imaging Software | Company Name URL: www.domain.com/solutions
Target Keyword: device imaging solutions
Title Tag: Device Imaging Solutions | Company Name URL: www.domain.com/products/product-name
Target Keyword: dis (acronym)
Title Tag: DIS Software | Product Name | Company Name My question is are these keyword too closely related for each of the pages? Will they be considered duplicate title tags? Keyword cannibalization? etc. Thanks!0 -
Local Keywords
Hello everyone. Still loving MOZ. Question: When I research a keyword phrase such as Entertainers it is returning a local search of 15,972. I want to target three specific cities in my area ( Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Akron). When I research the phrase Cleveland Entertainers I'm getting a local search result of 0. Should I just assume that the search is still large enough to use? Should I target Cleveland Entertainers still with feedback of 0? Also is it a good idea to target the word entertainers with three separate pages to three separate cities? I'm planning on making three separate blogs with new content on each. This will not be duplicate content.

Keyword Research Help
Hi all, My website is www.bruadair.com which is a luxury 7 bedroom villa in Barbados primary suited for large groups and weddings , using googles adword keyword tool i have been trying to establish some long tail keywords that i could include in my website. However i am finding it extremely difficult to find any long tail keywords (such as: Luxury 7 bedroom Villa Barbados ) that are receiving any local or global searches, it seems that there are only extremely competitive keywords receiving traffic. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can find effective keywords? With this type of website is it really as likely to be able to rank high due to the pure amount of keyword competition? I would really appreciate any help given as i am really struggling with my keyword research 😞 Thank you very much!!

Tips to know best adwords keywords of competitors?
I am about to run adwords campaign. I have questions- I want to know best adwords keywords that competitors are targetting. Is there any good way to find out the best keywords that competitors use which generate large amount of traffic to them? Can someone guide me how to use adwords in best possible way such as how to pay less and yet receive large number of targeted traffic? Tips are welcome from the community. I am about to start a campaign for this website which deals with Independent Sales Reps. So the adwords keywords will be related to Independent sales representatives who help in establishing new businesses and exporters.

Worried about keyword cannibalization
I've been reading a lot about keyword cannibalization and I'm worried that some of my sub pages may be pulling rank from my home page. If I'm trying to rank my home page for the keyword phrase "blue widget manufacturing" and I have sub pages with the titles "blue manufacturing services", "blue widget enginnering", "medical widget manufacturing" is it possible that those pages could be causing me to commit keyword cannibalization? I'm looking at a lot of the results for my keyword phrase and they don't seem to have additional pages with similar keyword phrases. Wondering if I should change my titles so they don't look as optimized.
