Dynamic contents causes duplicate pages
-
Technical help required - please!
In our Duplicate Content Pages Report I see a lot of duplicate pages that are created by one URL plus several versions of the same page with the dynamic content, for example,
http://www.georgebrown.ca/immigranteducation/programs
http://www.georgebrown.ca/school-program.aspx?id=1909&Sortid=Study
http://www.georgebrown.ca/school-program.aspx?id=1909&Sortid=Term
http://www.georgebrown.ca/school-program.aspx?id=1909&Sortid=Certification
http://www.georgebrown.ca/school-program.aspx?id=1909&Sortid=TitleHow do we solve it?

Ektron CMS. Yah, will have to go with the noindex somehow.
-
I don't know which CMS/framework you use but it's unlikely you can set canonical at template level.
-
Oh!!! Just now realized a different problem with canonical.
The same template is used with different URLs, for example, http://www.georgebrown.ca/immigranteducation/programs/ is the same template as http://www.georgebrown.ca/liberalarts/programs/, just with a different set of programs. We have 22 schools, each page creates 4 versions of itself (depending on the ordering of the programs).
So there is no way to program ONE url on the template level. Do I understand that correct?
-
Moz doesn't pick, just signal the duplicate content. If you add the canonical Moz should understand and un flag it as duplicate.
-
1. I think I will go with a canonical tag.
2. I believe noindex will not work as this is a template used in multiple page.3. Done that, but then MOZ reports them as duplicate content, which drives me crazy
4. Done that too. But don't know how to tell MOZ
-
- You can just add a canonical tag to signal google which version is the one to index.
- Or add meta "noidex"to the versions you do not want to be indexed.
- Or just do nothing and let google pick his preferred version for its index.
- Or you can teach google what those url parameter do and instruct him to do not index those versions.
I would programmatically add meta noindex.

Duplicate content nightmare
Hey Moz Community I ran a crawl test, and there is a lot of duplicate content but I cannot work out why. It seems that when I publish a post secondary urls are being created depending on some tags and categories. Or at least, that is what it looks like. I don't know why this is happening, nor do I know if I need to do anything about it. Help? Please.

Duplicate title on Crawl
Ok, this should hopefully be a simple one. Not sure if this is a Moz crawl issue of redirect issue. Moz is reporting duplicate title for www.site.co.uk , site.co.uk and www.site.co.uk/home.aspx is this a canonical change or a moz setting I need to get this number lower.

For Example: blog/page/33/ blog/page/34/ blog/page/35/ blog/page/36/ These are older post in our blog. Moz is saying that these are duplicate content. What is the best way to fix the URL structure of the pages?

Why would the SEOMoz Page analysis pick up exact keywords used in page title and text?
Hi, I am trying to optimise this URL : www.adaptiveconsultancy.com/ecommerce/features/advanced-ecommerce with the keyword being 'advanced ecommerce' With the 'On-Page Report Card' from SEOMoz that the exact keyword isn't featured in the page title or text, but it is in there. Why would this not be picked up? Thank you in advance,

How Does On Page Analysis work
Hi guys, I just need to run something past you. when I look at my on page analysis I have 5 key terms I am focusing on. For instance one of them is "computer backup". According to the report the current grade is 'F' when looking at site page "/" which I assume is the home page.
Moz Pro | | cubetech
When I do a lookup on other pages of the site it gets a ranking of A. Which is good. But since the hompage ranking went from A to F my rankings have definitely been affect. So i guess my questions are: does "/" mean the hompage, or all pages overall. What should I really be looking at here. I am assuming that you select certain pages to target certain key words. Should i be focusing like this, or more to the "/". Thanks Guys hoping to clear this one up.0
