Google will index us, but Bing won't. Why?

We were not able to connect to the DNS (Domain Name Server) for this URL. Please review with your technical team, web hosting company and contact Bing Webmaster support if you are not able to fix the issue.

I also faced the same issue with Bing on my site newsbevy.com, even though Google had indexed it. However, about three days ago, Bing started indexing it gradually. You may have to wait for a few months or contact their support if you’ve been waiting for too long.

My domain is about 10 years old and Bing used to index my site.
Recently, when I went to the website to check: site:https://house.com.vn, an error appeared:
I have resubmitted and still not working, I scanned my domain and it reported an error of 1 subpage with too long size, I resolved and rescanned but limited to zero scan pages.
I don't even know what to do now. My site is not indexed yet. Can you help me? -

@Alex_RevelInteractive
There are many reasons why your website may not be in the Bing index, but first, you need to verify if your site is really not indexed. The next step is to put up a query for the specific URL on your website using the URL: search operator followed by your site URL.Other more reasons:
-
No links on your website.
-
Your website is new and not crawled it yet.
-
We are running into issues crawling the site.
-
Your robots.txt file is preventing us from crawling your site.
-
You have a <meta name="robots" content="NOINDEX"> on your pages.
-
You have blocked URLs inside your Bing Webmaster Tools.
-
Your site does not meet the quality.
-
-
The same thing happened to my site! Everything is going well on Google for my site https://www.morelogin.com, but on bing, it feels like it's just waiting for a handout from bing traffic. The main keyword antidetect browser can't see us at all
-
Well, I received 4 emails today (5/30/23) from Bing that my site has been indexed and crawled which confirms some weeks ago when both my connected sites and web pages started showing up in Bing and Yahoo.
Here's what the email told me...
"Thank you for your patience!
I am happy to inform you that the issue related to your site http://internettvdotcom.com/ has been resolved.
If your site is not crawled or indexed, it may take up to 2-3 weeks for your site to serve again. Additionally, you can submit your URL using IndexNow feature to get them recrawled faster.
Please review our Webmaster Guidelines, especially the section Things to Avoid, to avoid this in the future.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to assist.
Take care and stay safe!
Sincerely,
Bing Webmaster Support Team"I indicated all the things I did to get my site (2 connected sites) back on Bing and Yahoo in an earlier post. But I think the main problem was the external links that pointed to many bad URLs. I had to disavow them inside the Bing Webmaster Tools.
Go to BWTs >> SEO >> Backlinks >> Disavow Links
-
Hi, also the same problem. My site https://viewsta.com/, few pages in general get into the index.
-
I have also problem with my site DriveZone.cz. Even Robot.txt file Bing can not reach and also sitemap indexing is not working. To me it looks more like Cloudflare CDN related problem
-
UPDATE: last week Bing suddenly starting indexing ledburypoetry.org.uk even though I had given up trying to make any further changes to the site to appease it. Consequently it's on Ecosia, etc as well. Still wish I knew what they had against us in the first place.

I have been a SEO since before the name was invented, I to am having problems with BING , they have discovered but not indexed a site https://www.octopus-energy-referral.co.uk/
Google is fine as usual.
I agree, why won't BING let us know why its a de facto noindex? -
@Angela327 "I have the same problem with the website https://wierszykidladzieci.net.pl/. Did you manage to solve the indexing issue?
-
@pbsbluejay... UPDATE:
Back in February 2022, Bing deindexed both of my connected WordPress sites which are separate WordPress installs. The How-To-Videos is the addon site. After doing a lot of work in the past months to resolve many issues, Bing has finally started indexing both my connected websites and their posts.
I provided the steps I took to resolve the deindexing issue and posted them here prior to this Update post. I don't see that post so it looks like it hasn't been approved or perhaps it will never be posted here.
I believe the primary issues were my URLs and backlinks. There were many weird URLs from my websites showing up in Bing where I used the Bing Content Removal Tool which serves two things:
- Pages that appear in our web search results that are broken links (404 - Not Found)
- Pages that appear in our web search results that contain outdated content in the cached version of the page
There were many backlinks pointing to spammy websites, non-working URLs, etc., that I disavowed. But I'll stop here. I broke it all down in my previous UPDATE post that hasn't been posted here.
One other thing...
If you are using WordPress, I recommend that you purchase the Yoast SEO Premium plugin for your site or sites. That plugin is designed to help prevent and resolve search engine issues. There's a lot of stuff you just don't want to be indexed and the plugin does that for you very easily.
For instance, the Yoast Premium plugin has an Advanced >> Optimization section that you need to enable just about everything listed under each of the following sub-sections...
- Remove unwanted metadata
- Disable unwanted content formats
- Remove unused resources
- Internal site search cleanup
- Advanced: URL cleanup (did not enable anything in this advanced section)
The Bing Webmaster Tools is now showing the data including indexed URLs that were missing during the deindexing of my sites. I still have more errors on both sites to fix that I may get around to resolving. But right now, I'm just happy to see my sites indexed in Bing again. The question is for how long? Did I do a well enough job correcting issue for this to be permanent?
-
My UPDATE...
-
I removed many external backlinks pointing to spammy websites with a host of links, including pointing to websites that didn't load, no longer existed, redirected to another page, and the list goes on.
-
I used Bing's Content Removal tool which does the following...
Use this page to inform Bing of any content that you have removed due to a legal right, requirement, or otherwise. The Content Removal Tool allows you to notify Bing about two types of outdated content in our web results:
- Pages that appear in our web search results that are broken links (404 - Not Found)
- Pages that appear in our web search results that contain outdated content in the cached version of the page
The problem is I'm only allowed to remove 10 URLs per day and the max is 50 per month. I have 100s of URLs to remove so this is taking me quite some time.
-
I updated and remove some stuff from my robots test file
-
Made sure my site is right
-
I have two connected WordPress sites built on separate installs--one is an addon. Bing deindexed both in Feb 2022. I had Yoast SEO plugin already installed on my main site (domain). I had the RankMath plugin installed on my addon site. I deactivated and deleted RankMath and installed the Yoast SEO version. I paid for the premium version to get all the features.
The Yoast SEO Premium has the Crawl optimization feature that does the following...
Make your site more efficient and more environmentally friendly by preventing search engines from crawling things they don’t need to, and by removing unused WordPress features.
I went in there and enable each and every feature with the exception of two features.
There was a lot to enable in each of the following sections...
- Remove unwanted metadata
- list itemDisable unwanted content formats
- list itemRemove unused resources
- Internal site search cleanup
-
I made both my websites/webpages load faster whereas I paid to install WP Rocket. I was already using Cloudflare. I worked on other things to make my site faster and resolve those issues that showed up in Google Webmasters Tools. I'm sure this helps me with Bing/Yahoo as well.
-
There were other minor issues I had to correct.
I still have URL issues to resolve. I don't know if I did enough so far for Bing to index both my sites again.
Inside the Bing Webmaster Tools >> Search Performance, I still have the following...
Clicks: 0
Impressions: 0
Avg. CTR: 0
Avg. Position: 0
Crawl Requests: 3.3K
Crawl Errors: 1.9K
Indexed Pages: 96 ==> This was 0 before I made all the changes above so I'm hoping that I'm on the right track to getting the deindex issue
resolved.Bing Webmaster Tools is telling me that I have 38 ERROR : Blocked by robots.txt. This all points to my /goto/ directory that I blocked inside the robots text file. That directory contains all my affiliate links which Google accepts but I don't know why Bing doesn't. I contacted Bing support about this but I'm sure I will get no response as I tried repeatedly throughout the past months. Got a couple of replies with one telling me that my sites are penalized and for me to correct the issues.
There's also the 26 ERROR : Meta Description tag missing issue that points to URLs with ?s=. These are search tags when individuals search for stuff on my website. Bings want to me write a description for all those unwanted URLs with ?s=. I'm not going to do that. Yoast support told me their plugin helps block the ?s= URLs from search engines but they may still index them. For now, I'm leaving this alone.

There could be several reasons why Google indexes your website while Bing does not. Some possible reasons could include:
Differences in search algorithms: Google and Bing use different algorithms to determine which websites to index and how to rank them in search results. It's possible that your website meets the criteria for inclusion in Google's index but not Bing's.
Crawling frequency: Google's crawlers may visit your website more frequently than Bing's crawlers, which could lead to your website being indexed by Google but not Bing.
Site structure: The structure and organization of your website could play a role in whether it gets indexed by search engines. If your site is well-structured and easy for crawlers to navigate, it may be more likely to get indexed by both Google and Bing.
Backlinks: Google places a lot of importance on the number and quality of external links pointing to your site, whereas Bing may place less emphasis on this factor. If your site has a lot of high-quality backlinks, it may be more likely to get indexed by Google than Bing.
Overall, it's important to ensure that your website is well-optimized for search engines and meets their guidelines for inclusion in their indexes. This can involve a range of tactics, including improving site structure, creating high-quality content, and building backlinks from reputable sources. [Contact us]

BING is a big joke ! I am doing seo for a very long time now. I rank more than 50 articles 1. page on Google search and 0 posts on Bing.
I think people there are incompotent when it comes to indexing.
Bing aperas hase old algoritam, only keywords work for it but if you use keywords Google will punish you so you have to choose. I choose Google until Bing gets it s@it together.
-
I'm still the same, my website https://significado.online/, without any sense, half of it is still not indexed, and in Google everything goes perfectly.
I do not understand anything... -
Since Bing de-indexed our site, I've been looking closer at engagement rates for articles in GA4. It's really obvious that Microsoft has some black ops team (or contracts one) that goes after critical content. Anything I write about Microsoft that isn't favorable has about 50 page views per month with 0 seconds on the page.
In other words, they're trying to sink the page by contriving non-engagement. If you look at the pages with 0 seconds of engagement (we usually get 1:30 to 2 mins per page), they're all pages that Microsoft would love to flush down the toilet. Once again, they thought we wouldn't see this, but we did!
At this point, I'm filing complaints with the SEC and other federal authorities. Although Bing is not a monopoly, Microsoft leverages what little power they have so poorly. They've always been such a crooked company.
Another thing -- Microsoft continued to HAMMER our site with Bing bots, even after we were de-indexed. I went into their webmaster tools, turned off all bots, deleted the sitemap, etc. They were STILL hitting our site like crazy. It's like a DDOS attack. 3000+ hits a day from their bots, but we're not even indexed. It's probably ChatGPT stealing our content, which I have also noticed. (Yet another issue to take up with the feds.)
The bot requests do detract from web performance. I see a clear correlation between Microsoft's bot activity and decreased traffic on my site. We haven't been indexed on Bing for over a year, but their last Bing Bot attack (that's what it is) took place a few days ago. I recently configured WordFence to completely block Microsoft, as they appear to sneak around robots.txt with some unknown, anonymous crawler.
I changed our robots.txt to block all Microsoft crawlers, then configured WordFence to block everything but Google. I used rate limiting, so anyone clicking and bailing will be blocked. Sometimes they use click farms in developing nations, but they too will be blocked.
This is no fluke. This is no mistake. Our website has earned over 20 million page views, and our writers have worked in tech for decades. Microsoft wants a world where only corporate media conglomerates can report the news, so their PR sluts can woo them into writing favorable articles.
If you've ever worked at a big tech company and know who does PR, you'll know how the world works. Microsoft will treat Bloomberg, WSJ, Verge, etc. writers as geniuses, but most are English or History majors with friends who work in the media.
Microsoft can manage the corporate media's reviews. If one of these companies happens to be honest about how bad Microsoft products are, their PR hootchie mammas will be out there with short skirts pleading with some nerd to change it. For the most part, when a new Microsoft product is launched, the corporate media is fed talking points.
Talking points, talking points, and more talking points. Aren't we fed up with these yet? I am fed up with corporations regurgitating talking points into another corporation's mouth.
They can't do that with our site. They can't do it with any independent site. So they de-index us and many others.
They have a legal right to de-index us but not to sabotage our website. We are well aware of their dirty tricks, and we're sharing them with the feds. Even if you're on Bing, the best thing you can do is block Microsoft in every way possible. Block any crawler other than Google. WordFence is excellent for this!

@mikemch dear i am also faceing this problem my website in phanom professionals. not indexing in right way if you any idea than tell me.

Hi
Just to add a little to my last post. The site I'm talking [pokie.fun](link url) about has been indexed by Bing for a number of years, it has now dropped out for as I said, no apparent reason.
rogerc -
I'm professional SEO expert. I'm maintaining more than 2 website alongly in the same time a professional SEO service provider. One is an image editing service providing related website where I'm giving my full time. As a professional SEO Expert I will say it that, Bing and Google are different Search Engine Company. We have to indexing in both search engines. Otherwise we won't gain indexing faciliation from both them.
We have to monitoring some issues and fixing those successfully as a result we will gain the expected indexing result from Bing.
There could be several reasons why Bing is not indexing your website while Google is. Here are a few possibilities:Bing may not have found your website yet: Bing crawls the web to discover new websites and pages, but this process can take time. If your website is new or has few external links pointing to it, it may take longer for Bing to discover and index it compared to Google.
Your website may not be optimized for Bing: Bing's search algorithm may be different from Google's, and it may prioritize different factors when deciding which pages to index. Make sure that your website is optimized for Bing's algorithm, including factors such as page load speed, content quality, and backlinks.
Your website may have technical issues: If your website has technical issues such as broken links, duplicate content, or crawl errors, Bing may have trouble indexing it. Check your website for technical issues and fix them as soon as possible.
Bing may have blocked your website: for various reasons, such as a violation of their guidelines or suspicious activity. Check your Bing Webmaster Tools account to see if there are any messages or notifications regarding your website.
It's important to optimize your website for both Google and Bing to ensure that it gets maximum visibility in search results.

Spent 2 years trying to get aussie-slots.com re-indexed after it dropped out for no apparent reason, it's suddenly re-appeared now , terrific!, but just when I thought things were going good another of my sites pokie.fun has dropped out, once again, no apparent reason. Truth be told, I don't think anyone outside of Bing really knows what's going on !.
-
It seems like same thing is happening for my website Technotification as well
-
I'm also facing the same issue - Google can discover our pages easily, but Bing can't index them. Can anyone tell me what might be the issue? [evrunningcosts.co.uk] (https://evrunningcosts.co.uk/)
-
I have the same problem with my site Fantasy Articles. I have no idea what's the problem. I have adhered to all the guidelines as instructed. In addition, I have raised a ticket with Bing; however, I have yet to receive a response. What further steps can I take to resolve this situation? This is highly unreasonable.
-
Very good, I am sorry to say that I also get that message "The inspected URL is known to Bing but has some issues which are preventing indexation".
And the truth is that it makes us crazy:
- New domain
- 100 urls with new content
- Thematic not sex, casinos or that is susceptible to banning.
- Google has indexed us
Too bad the Bing tool can't give us more accurate data.
I hope someone has solved it somehow.Thank you!
-
I checked a lot of the sites mentioned in the previous posts, and I see a lot of them are correctly indexed now in Bing.
Can someone explain what they have done exactly to get their site indexed?
I already tried all, but still not succeed for my site about the Burj KhalifaThanks,
Stijn -
Google will index us, but Bing won't. Why?
I have the same problem ddh-designs.com My main page is indexed and not the other links. the CEO is the same on all pages and the text all are written for each page to describe the content of each one only. I'm about to stop using Bing's webmaster tool if the issue is not resolved by the end of March. -
Hi everyone!
Could somebody tell if finally found the solution to this issue?
I've been trying to publish my site (https://seolocal.madrid/) on Bing for a couple of days, but it seems to impossible.
If I review the Webmaster guidelines I couldn't find what's wrong in my website. I think that is complying with the requirements, but I can't find any place with specific information about what's going on.
Bing support seem to be as lost as us
I hope that somebody can help us to clarify the trouble and provide a solution.
Regards. -
@Kateparish Thank you for your reply.
I know the situations you mentioned. Actually I have many other sites that have already indexed by Bing successfully. I knew that the contents, backlinks, etc have no problems. However, Bing just ignored and kept no indexing with no reason and its technical support staff didn't reply me further without any explanations.
-
There could be many reasons why Google would index your website while Bing wouldn't. Here are a few possible explanations:
Crawling and indexing algorithms: Google and Bing have different algorithms that they use to crawl and index websites. Google's algorithm may have found your website to be more relevant and valuable to users, while Bing's algorithm may have found it less so.
Content quality: It's possible that Google views your website's content as being of higher quality than Bing does. This could be due to factors like the relevance and uniqueness of your content, the depth and comprehensiveness of your articles, or the overall user experience of your site.
Technical issues: There may be technical issues with your website that are preventing Bing from indexing it properly. For example, if your site has broken links or errors in its HTML code, Bing's crawler may not be able to navigate it effectively.
Backlinks: Backlinks are links from other websites to your site, and they are an important factor in how search engines rank websites. It's possible that your website has more backlinks from sites that Google values highly, but fewer from sites that Bing values.
-
@Tomalaweb Thank you for your reply.
If you read my post carefully, you can see I have submitted the sitemap through Bing webmaster tools. While the Bing technical support cannot find out the problem, then I was being ignored by the Bing support without further reply.
-
@Tomalaweb - I have done all of those things and repeatedly use the Bing Webmaster tools to check for errors, etc (I grudgingly admit they are useful), but all attempts to have the domain listed in Bing fail. If I Google 'poetry festival' we come first after the sponsored entries, in Bing not a mention even by page 5. It's so frustrating!!! I would say that our efforts to get Bing to show us have been rewarded by some improvements in our Google ranking though.
-
There could be a variety of reasons why Google will index your website but Bing won't. Here are a few possible explanations:
Technical Issues: There may be technical issues on your website that are preventing Bing from indexing your pages. For example, your website might be missing a sitemap, have incorrect robots.txt settings, or have duplicate content issues that are confusing Bing's crawler.
Content Quality: Bing has a different search algorithm than Google, and it may prioritize different types of content. If your website's content isn't high-quality, or if it doesn't align with Bing's search algorithm, it may not be indexed.
Backlinks: Bing places more emphasis on the quality and quantity of backlinks to a website than Google does. If your website doesn't have enough high-quality backlinks, it may not be indexed by Bing.
Domain Age: Bing generally favors older domains with a longer history and more established online presence. If your website is relatively new, it may take longer for Bing to index it.
Bing Webmaster Tools: Unlike Google, Bing offers a Webmaster Tools platform that allows website owners to submit sitemaps, monitor their website's performance, and troubleshoot indexing issues. If you haven't set up a Bing Webmaster Tools account or submitted your sitemap, this could be preventing Bing from indexing your website.
Overall, if you're having trouble getting your website indexed by Bing, it's important to troubleshoot technical issues, ensure your content is high-quality and aligned with Bing's search algorithm, work on building quality backlinks, and leverage Bing Webmaster Tools to monitor your website's performance.

@Milcenty Thank you for your reply.
If you read my post carefully, you can see how I was being ignored by the Bing support.

@Thompson86 I have similar issues on my new website https://voxtrendy.com/ and https://tunezpop.com/ I have tried my best to solve the issue but only one website was indexed.
I have contacted the bing webmaster for a better solution and I sincerely advise you to contact bing webmaster support.
Sometimes, you can't really know why new sites are not indexed.

Hi Steven,
2 months already since I first raised the issue. I am wondering if Bing receive a lot of complaints which is too busy to handle...
What else can I do besides wait?
Today is 2023/2/18. No more news from Bing.

@geekyvicky Dont't want to worry you guys but after 2 years of checking aussie-slots.com just to see if it has been indexed, all of a sudden, surprise I get this... ( I have changed nothing ) :-
Indexed successfully

No SEO issues found

My website Rap Music Guide has been around since 2011 and has no problem being indexed by Google, but for some reason in my Bing Webmaster Tools dashboard it says "The inspected URL is known to Bing but has some issues which are preventing indexation. We recommend you to follow Bing Webmaster Guidelines to increase your chances of indexation."
I have followed all of the guidelines perfectly. I also submitted a ticket with Bing but they do not respond. What else can I do? This is absolutely absurd.

<head>
<meta name='robots' content='noindex'>

Whereas actual Robots is:-
<meta name="robots" content="follow, index, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1, max-image-preview:large" />I don't understand how they know all this when it appears they are not even Crawling the site
, and, where do they get (<meta name='robots' content='noindex'>) from ???
Title too short... cannot be the no-index reason.

Home Pages of Several Websites are disappearing / reappearing in Google Index
Hi, I periodically use the Google site command to confirm that our client's websites are fully indexed. Over the past few months I have noticed a very strange phenomenon which is happening for a small subset of our client's websites... basically the home page keeps disappearing and reappearing in the Google index every few days. This is isolated to a few of our client's websites and I have also noticed that it is happening for some of our client's competitor's websites (over which we have absolutely no control). In the past I have been led to believe that the absence of the home page in the index could imply a penalty of some sort. This does not seem to be the case since these sites continue to rank the same in various Google searches regardless of whether or not the home page is listed in the index. Below are some examples of sites of our clients where the home page is currently not indexed - although they may be indexed by the time you read this and try it yourself. Note that most of our clients are in Canada. My questions are: 1. has anyone else experienced/noticed this? 2. any thoughts on whether this could imply some sort of penalty? or could it just be a bug in Google? 3. does Google offer a way to report stuff like this? Note that we have been building websites for over 10 years so we have long been aware of issues like www vs. non-www, canonicalization, and meta content="noindex" (been there done that in 2005). I could be wrong but I do not believe that the site would keep disappearing and reappearing if something like this was the issue. Please feel free to scrutinize the home pages to see if I have overlooked something obvious - I AM getting old. site:dietrichlaw.ca - this site has continually ranked in the top 3 for [kitchener personal injury lawyers] for many years. site:burntucker.com - since we took over this site last year it has moved up to page 1 for [ottawa personal injury lawyers] site:bolandhowe.com - #1 for [aurora personal injury lawyers] site:imranlaw.ca - continually ranked in the top 3 for [mississauga immigration lawyers]. site:canadaenergy.ca - ranks #3 for [ontario hydro plans] Thanks in advance! Why isn't our new site being indexed?
We built a new website for a client recently. Site: https://www.woofadvisor.com/ It's been live for three weeks. Robots.txt isn't blocking Googlebot or anything. Submitted a sitemap.xml through Webmasters but we still aren't being indexed. Anyone have any ideas?

Redirect url that don't end with slash
Hi! I need to add in my .htaccess a way to redirect URL that don't end with / to the one thats end wth /.For example, I need http://example.com to redirect to http://www.example.com/. And, of course, this redirection should be only for URLs that don't end with /, so I don't get double // at the end. I already have the code to redirect the non-www to the www, but can't find a way to do the slash thing. Thanks!

Hreflang Tag great for Google, what about Bing or others?
I've read that the Hreflang Tag is all the rave for International solutions on a per page basis. I haven't read much about what International agencies are using for non-Google search engines such as Bing. Is the common language meta tags the only solution? would love to see an article that addresses this
