What's the best way for users to upload their images to my wordpress site to promote UGC
-
I have looked at lots of different plugins and wanted a recommendation for an easy way for patients of ours to upload pictures of them out partying and having fun and looking beautiful so future users can see the final results instead of sometimes gory or difficult to understand before and after images.
I'd like to give them the opportunity to write captions (like facebook or insta posts and would offer them incentives to do so.
I don't want it to be too complicated for them or have too many steps or barriers but I do want it to look nice and slick and modern.
Also do you think this would have a positive impact on SEO?
I was also thinking of a Q&A app where dentists could get Q&A emails and respond - i've been doing AMA sessions and they've been really successful and I would like to bring it into out site and make it native.
Thanks in advance

site to promote UGC and would it have a positive income on SEO
There are several ways for users to upload their images to your WordPress site to promote user-generated content (UGC). Here are some options:
-
Use a plugin: You can use a plugin like NextGEN Gallery or WPForms to allow users to upload images to your site. These plugins allow you to create custom forms with fields for image uploads.
-
Use the WordPress Media Library: You can also allow users to upload images using the built-in WordPress Media Library. To do this, you'll need to create a new post or page and enable the "Featured Image" option. Users can then upload their image as the featured image for the post or page.
-
Use social media: You can encourage users to upload their images to social media (e.g. Instagram) and use a hashtag that you monitor. You can then feature the best images on your site.
In terms of the impact on SEO, user-generated content can have a positive impact if it is high-quality and relevant to your site's topic. Google and other search engines value fresh, original content, and UGC can help you achieve that. However, it's important to moderate UGC to ensure that it meets your quality standards and doesn't contain spam or inappropriate content. You should also ensure that any UGC you feature on your site is properly attributed to the original creator.

There are several ways for users to upload their images to your WordPress site in order to promote user-generated content (UGC). Here are some of the best options:
-
Enable user registration and allow users to upload images through their own profiles. You can do this by installing a plugin such as User Registration or Ultimate Member, which allows you to create custom user registration forms and add custom fields, including image upload fields.
-
Use a front-end submissions plugin such as WPForms or Gravity Forms. These plugins allow you to create custom forms that users can use to submit content to your site, including images. You can set up these forms to automatically publish user-submitted content, or you can review and approve each submission before publishing.
-
Install a UGC plugin such as [Taggbox Wordpress Plugin]. These plugins allow you to create a community forum or social network within your WordPress site, where users can post and share images with each other. You can also set up moderation rules to ensure that all content is appropriate and in line with your site's guidelines.
Use a dedicated image-sharing plugin such as NextGEN Gallery or Envira Gallery. These plugins allow users to upload and share their images in a gallery format, which can be a great way to promote UGC and showcase your community's creativity.
No matter which method you choose, it's important to make sure that your site is secure and that you have appropriate measures in place to protect users' personal information and content. You may also want to consider adding a term of service or user agreement that outlines your site's rules and guidelines for user-generated content.

YES! WP custom area. That's the one I want. Thanks roman.

Ok, I have been working with **FormCraft**mainly by its flexibility, also does not need to code it or make some complex configuration, another good option is to create a customer area that bright you more flexibility. In that case WP Customer Area. I worked on a few projects with it and works like a charm for small websites, so if you want to implement it on your business (dentist website) and create an area where your patients can share their experience, upload photos or whatever you want this is a great solution.
The link that I added is for the free version, but there is a premium version ( I did not try the premium version ) just give it a check.
Hope this info will help you

Hi Roman,
Thanks for this - some great options here for my page. But what about when people want to upload their own photos rather than reviews. So it's hosted on our site and could potentially one day form a sort of Q&A and brochure of our lovely patients. I also need one for our recruitment page where people can upload CV's and cover letters but think I can fix that with one of my forms plugins.
Cheers,
Ed.

What is the best way to show content in Listing Pages?
If it is e-commerce site and a product listing page there is always a conflict how to show the content? As per my understanding we can show content in two different ways. 1. To show little content and use **Read more. (**In this case there is a direct message to the google: Here is the content visible and rest content is hidden but available for visitors to read more 2. Can use** Scroll bar**. So here is the message to Google and visitors that my full content is available here. So just scroll down to read further. So I want to know that which method of showing content is best and it's impact of SEO where there is UI constraint or both the method is ok without any SEO impact. Please share your suggestions. Best Way to Handle Near-Duplicate Content?
Hello Dear MOZers, Having duplicate content issues and I'd like some opinions on how best to deal with this problem. Background: I run a website for a cosmetic surgeon in which the most valuable content area is the section of before/after photos of our patients. We have 200+ pages (one patient per page) and each page has a 'description' block of text and a handful of before and after photos. Photos are labeled with very similar labels patient-to-patient ("before surgery", "after surgery", "during surgery" etc). Currently, each page has a unique rel=canonical tag. But MOZ Crawl Diagnostics has found these pages to be duplicate content of each other. For example, using a 'similar page checker' two of these pages were found to be 97% similar. As far as I understand there are a few ways to deal with this, and I'd like to get your opinions on the best course. Add 150+ more words to each description text block Prevent indexing of patient pages with robots.txt Set the rel=canonical for each patient page to the main gallery page Any other options or suggestions? Please keep in mind that this is our most valuable content, so I would be reluctant to make major structural changes, or changes that would result in any decrease in traffic to these pages. Thank you folks, Ethan

How to properly change your website's address in Webmaster Tools?
Hi There,We've launched a new website and as part of the update have changed our domain name - now we need to tell Google of the changes: Both sites were verified in Webmaster Tools From the old site's gear icon, we chose "Change of address" As part of the "Change of address" checklist Google presented, we added 301 redirects to redirect the old domain to the new one But now that the 301 redirects are in place, Google can no longer verify the old site And because it can no longer verify the old site, Google won't let us complete the change of address form How do we tell Google of the change of address in this instance - and has anyone else encountered this?CheersBen

Why can't I redirect 302 errors to 301's?
I've been advised by IT that due to the structure of our website (they don't use sub-folders) it's not possible to change 302's to 301's. Is this correct, or am I being fobbed off?

Can hotlinking images from multiple sites be bad for SEO?
Hi, There's a very similar question already being discussed here, but it deals with hotlinking from a single site that is owned by the same person. I'm interested whether hotlinking images from multiple sites can be bad for SEO. The issue is that one of our bloggers has been hotlinking all the images he uses, sometimes there are 3 or 4 images per blog from different domains. We know that hotlinking is frowned upon, but can it affect us in the SERPs? Thanks, James

Best way to handle with a Multiple Langue Issue
Howdy everyone! I am having trouble with deciding on how to solve a Multiple Language Issue. I went to several consultants here in Mexico, but i am not totally convinced on their solution. So i am hoping to hear excellent advice (as always) here on the SEOMOZ Forum. I have a website, (www.aceromart.com) an ecommerce site in which to sell materials for the construction industry. My main market is in Mexico, therefore the website is in Spanish. However, the export sales are increasing and some of the suppliers are from USA. I need to include the English version on my website, however i dont know how to do this. The option that they propose is to create an entirely different website with another domain. Entirely in English that links to my existing website. I did not like this at all. Mainly because i would not like to change the brand name or anything. I would like to include the English version within my website. Is it okay, if treat it as a folder withing my website. I.E www.aceromart.com/english/content? What is the best way to do this according to your experience. Best Regards, thanks for your help.

Best META Fields to Include on New Site
I am in the process of transitioning sites to a Drupal CMS and am curious to know what META information to provide on each of the new site pages. Currently, this is the set-up I plan on using: My questions to the community are: whether or not I've added all pertinent information, and if there's anything I'm overlooking
