When looking at creating a backlink strategy which is more important to look at, Domain auhtority or page authority?

Ditto Bevelwise. We see Page Authority as gaining much more rank this year. Link's from pages with low page authority seem to have very little effect.

Short answer: Look at both. Long Answer:The page authority is more important in my opinion because that is the page that would specifically be passing link authority to your site. You may find a page you are trying to get a link from and it may be a really strong domain but at the same time it's a very large website and your link is 6 levels deep in the architecture and has a low page authority. The link from this page with a low page authority would be a weak link, which is why I say page authority is more important.

Spammy backlinks
I am very new to this site and need some help. I have two spammy backlinks in my report that were done by my host provider as I hired them for SEO. When I click on the web site there is no where to contact them. I can only subscribe to their group and I sure don't want to do that. Is having two ranking as an 8+ awful. Backlinks through dofollow commenting
I'm interested in building backlinks to my photography business site by leaving good, engaging comments on other photographers' DoFollow blogs. Is this a good idea? Is it worth the effort? Through a little research, I've managed to locate more than 40 dofollow photographer blogs that have a domain authority of 35+. The idea is to take an hour or so a week to leave 10-20 comments on their blog posts. Would you consider this a good strategy? I rank on the first and second page of most of my keywords that I'm working on, but I want to rank 1st or 2nd on them. I used the keyword finder tool on google adwords to find the keywords that are the most searched for in my area. Surprisingly the competition is not large, so I'm fairly comfident I can get there. I've already optimized my site substantially and I'm looking into link building. Thoughts?

Diluted Link Pages
When looking at a competitor's links, is it worth the time to try to get listed on sites they're listed on if all they seem to be are pages with links? Here's an example: http://blacktieaffairlimousines.com/links.html I'm finding a lot of these, along with other low quality links from sites in other countries such as China, that have nothing to do with their business. This is for a self storage company. Most of what I'm finding are what seem to be more "old school" link building (farming).

Massive Jump In Competitor Domain Authority In 1 year...How?!
We have noticed a competitor of one of our clients has leapfrogged massively in terms of their Domain Authority, Links, actually pretty much everything in the space of a year. We have been working diligently with our client building up a solid seo strategy based on content and organic link backs, but we're at a loss of how to try and explain the gains by the competitor over them. Ranking strategy -which pages to rank?
Hi, I hope you can help. I am looking to rank for 10 keywords. My homepage has some authority. On what pages should I focus my optimisation on? Should I create a new page for each keyword and build links to these pages or try and optimise my home page for a number of keywords? How to track/find new organic backlinks to your domain
I use Google Alerts to track domain-level backlinks (via the link:http://www.example.com trick) but is there a way to track/be alerted of long urls, not just the domain, without having to set an alert for each specific url?
