How do you turn off ads on your YouTube videos?
-
How do you remove ads that pop up on your youtube videos? I have created several videos only to have my competitors ad be the first thing to show up on the videos. Curious how you turn that off.

@RobDalton Here are a few things you can do to minimize ads impact:
-
Enable monetization: By monetizing your YouTube channel, you have more control over the types of ads that appear. While you may not be able to block specific competitor ads, you can at least generate some revenue from the ads that do appear.
-
Targeted keywords: Optimize your video titles, descriptions, and tags with relevant keywords to attract viewers who are specifically interested in your content. This may help YouTube's algorithm to prioritize showing ads that align better with your target audience, reducing the chances of competitor ads appearing.
-
Build a loyal subscriber base: Encourage viewers to subscribe to your channel, as subscribers tend to receive fewer ads. When you have a strong subscriber base, your videos are more likely to be recommended to your subscribers, reducing the chances of competitor ads appearing for them.
-
Use YouTube's ad targeting options: Although you can't specifically block competitor ads, YouTube provides some targeting options for advertisers. By exploring these options, you may be able to prevent certain categories of ads from appearing on your videos, which can indirectly reduce the chances of competitor ads.
-
Report inappropriate ads: If you come across any competitor ads that violate YouTube's ad policies or guidelines, you can report them to YouTube. While this may not directly remove the ads from your videos, it can help YouTube enforce its policies and improve the overall ad experience.
Remember, ads are an essential part of YouTube's revenue model, and complete control over which ads appear on your videos may not be possible.

Unfortunately, as a content creator on YouTube, you don't have direct control over the specific ads that appear on your videos. YouTube's advertising system determines which ads are displayed based on various factors like user preferences and advertiser targeting.
However, you can try a few things to have some influence over the ads:
Exclude advertisers: YouTube allows you to exclude specific advertisers from showing ads on your channel. Although it's not a guaranteed solution, it can help reduce the chances of your competitors' ads appearing. You can access this option in YouTube Studio > Settings > Monetization > Advertiser Exclusions.
Block ad categories: You can choose to block certain ad categories from displaying on your videos. While it won't target your competitors directly, it can help you avoid ads from specific industries or content types. Look for this option in YouTube Studio > Settings > Monetization > AdSense Categories.
Content ID system: If your competitors are using your content in their ads without permission, you can use YouTube's Content ID system. This helps protect your original content by allowing you to assert ownership and take appropriate actions, like requesting the removal of unauthorized use.
Keep in mind that YouTube's ad system is dynamic and ever-changing, so you can't have complete control over the ads displayed. However, using these settings and tools can give you some influence over the types of ads shown to viewers.

To disable ads on your YouTube videos, you must meet the eligibility criteria for YouTube's Partner Program. Once approved, go to YouTube Studio, select the "Monetization" tab, and disable monetization for individual videos or your entire channel. Additionally, you can use ad-blocking software or subscribe to YouTube Premium for an ad-free viewing experience. As for Twitch, ads on Twitch cannot be turned off by streamers, as they are an essential part of the platform's revenue model. However, Twitch offers an ad-free experience to its subscribers through Twitch Turbo, a premium subscription service. -

@bigkahuna111 My issue is I have ads appearing that I am not making money off of that are my competitors. It is not a monetization issue.
-
@G7Auto Nice. I actually did not know that. For this specific question though my main concern is my target audience because they are seeing ads of my competitors on my videos.
-
In order to have ads appear on your videos, you must have been approved for the YouTube Partner Program .
Go to your monetization tab and simply turn off monetization for any of your videos where you don't want any ads to appear.
-
@crocs81 Recommend you to add AdBlock extension to your Chrome. This plugin will skip all the ads on Youtube videos
-
Yeah, I tried that, but monetization is not turned on at all since I do not have enough followers, etc.

That's the Downside to using third party video hosting. Now is this on YouTube or on an embedded video on your site? A good work around on your site is to make all of your videos play as part of a playlist so it goes into more of your content. On YouTube, you can go into your video settings and turn off ads. Makes since, especially if you're not seeing any ad revenue. We have a client that does solar hot water heater installations and we had a similar issue. Feel free to contact us if you need any webdesign or seo help.

Can you transcribe your youtube video to just google?
YouTube videos have been very effective for us on our site. The only problem is they have taken part of a fair amount of our content so to google our pages may seem to have minimal content. Transcribing each video and including that on the page would take away from the look of the page and clutter it. Is there a way to let google know the content without having to include it on the page? You can find an example page at https://www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/halii-kai-rentals/

Is it important for SEO that YouTube and Google + be used under the same Google Account?
Hello - I have a client that has their Google Plus and YouTube under separate Google accounts. My thoughts are that it'd be best for SEO and awareness with Google that their active YouTube channel to be under their active Google Plus account. My question is: Is it recommended for SEO that we upload the videos to her prominent Google business account (they only have about 100 subscribers)? If we did this we would delete them from the other account to avoid dup. content. We are in a position where we can make this change easily if it is recommended and good for SEO--which I would think it would be. So we would like to know now if we should make this change before we grow the YouTube channel further, or if we should leave it how it is. Any insight would be very helpful! Thank you!

Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...
Hello,
Social Media | | allstatetransmission
I am working on one of my clients projects and would love some advice before making some changes to their Google+ and Youtube account. We created the youtube account before Google+ and Youtube combined so we have a seperate name for the Youtube and Google+ Profile. They were created using separate emails, but both emails are managers of each others "account." We can't combine the two as it won't give me the option, only the option to create a new Youtube channel based on the Google+ Profile. But I already have videos loaded up on the Older Channel that I would like to keep and use for my current Google+ Profile. I have tried to disconnect the Youtube channel to hopefully get the option to link the two, but it just says it is a unavailable option. So my question is:
What advice do you guys have with any of this type of Youtube and Google+ mismatch profile/channels? I am not finding much online besides links to unattaching accounts but that is giving me a message saying that it isn't possible. Or would creating a new channel linked to the Google+ page and just reuploading the videos/transcripts be my best bet? Thank you for your feedback, and if you want anymore details (I know this description when not looking at the accounts might not be enough info, feel free to ask.) I really appreciate it. J0 -
Lost with Google services: place, Google +, page, youtube ...?
Hello MOoooooooooooooz ! Sorry to add another post on this. But I think most of us agree on the fact that for Google +, Google is not making very good job. Even worst when we know how low is the engagement on this website. Now I'm facing the following issue: Multi page and accounts through Google services ! One of my customer is playing music. So she has a google + profil and a youtube. Now we created the same for her website: A google page and then a google place (Google team has been sending hundred of messages and so far has not merge them). Then I opened a youtube for the Google Page. So i end up with: A Google + Profil for her (we use for the authorship) A Goole + profil for her website (we use for the SEO) A Google place page (we use for maps SEO) A youtube account for her (come with gmail) A youtube channel for her (easier to promote her job) A youtube channel automatically created through the Google + page (2) What would you do in this case to: Get 1 Google page Get 1 youtube channel I would like something easy to use even for youtube download or reviews and sharing. So I do not know which one to keep, etc ... Hope you can help me as I'm sure many of us faced the same issue.

Will you be adding +1 to your sites?
I logged into my Adsense account yesterday and saw a notification that I could have code to add the plus one button to my site. I currently have addthis on most pages, so I set it up so that the +1 button is floated next to my Addthis FB, Twitter and Share buttons. I'd love to hear your personal thoughts on +1. Do you think it will have a great effect on rankings? Are you likely to +1 interesting sites as you surf the web? Are you adding it to all of your pages?
