I am hoping this is the right forum to ask this question. But, I was looking at my backlinks and noticed that I had some go to a page that resembles my site, but had porn words on it. however, it would link to a place on my site. Under more information it has a real link to my site. What is this? I noticed the domain authority was in I believe the 70's; but PA was in 40's. I am new, so can someone explain this. Thank you.

Well I think that this is something you need to take seriously. Linking from or to porn would most likely get you into SEO problems. I have heard that there are malicious competitors who do that type of thing. I would advise that you do a Google Disavow for the links coming from these porn sites. Please be in the know that SEO experts warn against over using the tool. If you are not familiar with the Disavow tool. I hope it helps and good luck.

@Fashion22 Someone might have been trying to link your website on porn for negative SEO, you can just list the URLs and disavow them in your search console.

Backlinks on Moz not on Google Search Console
Moz is showing thousands of backlinks to my site that are not showing up on Google Search Console - which is good because those links were created by some spammer in Pakistan somewhere. I haven't yet submitted a disavow report to Google of well over 10K links because the list keeps growing every day with new backlinks that have been rerouted to a 404 page. I have asked Google to clarify and they put my question on their forum for an answer, which I'm still waiting for - so I thought I'd try my luck here. My question... If Moz does not match Google Search Console, and backlinks are important to results, how valid is the ranking that Moz creates to let me know how I'm doing in this competition and if I'm improving or not. If the goal is to get Google to pay attention and I use Moz to help me figure out how to do this, how can I do that if the backlink information isn't the same - by literally over 10 000 backlinks created by some spammer doing odd things... They've included the url from their deleted profile on my site with 100s of other urls, including Moz.com and are posting them everywhere with their preferred anchor text. Moz ranking considers the thousands of spam backlinks I can't get rid of and Google ignores them or disavows them. So isn't the rankings, data, and graphs apples and bananas? https://www.tonzo.com/ ...are linking to one of my client sites at https://www.scamblermusic.com The websites in question clearly aren't related and aren't linking to the site, and there's no reference to Scambler Music anywhere in the source code. Why does Moz keep listing backlinks that simply don't appear to exist?0 -

How can a site have a backlink from Barclays website?
Hi, I have entered a competitiors website www.my-wardrobe.com into Open Site to see who they get links from and to my surprise they have a load from Barclays Business Banking. When I visit the page I can not see the links. But if I search the pages source code for my-wardrobe, there I have it, a link to my-wardrobe.com. How have they done this? Surely Barclays haven't sold them it? Half of my backlinks just disappeared!
I was just starting to feel like I was getting traction and all of a sudden half of our external backlinks just disappeared! Over the past 4 months we've taken our total external links from about 2500 to 6500 and with the lastest report, we seem to have lost more than half and are now around 2100. Our domain authority has dropped accordingly too. I realize that backlinks aren't forever but what in the heck could cause you to loose over 4000 in a one month period? eK9w
