Unsolved Backlinks issues.

I am hoping this is the right forum to ask this question. But, I was looking at my backlinks and noticed that I had some go to a page that resembles my site, but had porn words on it. however, it would link to a place on my site. Under more information it has a real link to my site. What is this? I noticed the domain authority was in I believe the 70's; but PA was in 40's. I am new, so can someone explain this. Thank you.

Welcome to the community! It seems like you've encountered a situation where your site has backlinks from a page with adult content. This could be a result of spam or an unintended association. The domain authority suggests a reputable source, but the lower page authority may indicate a less influential specific page. It's advisable to disavow such links and monitor your backlink profile for a healthier online presence. I can relate, as I was also facing the same issue on my Paradise 8 Casino website. Feel free to ask for more guidance from our experienced members. Happy to help!

Backlink issues can significantly impact a website's SEO. Quality matters, and if your site has backlinks from low-quality or spammy sources, it can lead to penalties from search engines. Regularly analyzing your backlink profile using tools and ensuring ethical link-building strategies are crucial for maintaining a strong online presence. If you've received a penalty, addressing and rectifying the issues is paramount. Additionally, understanding competitors' backlink strategies and optimizing anchor text can contribute to improved search engine rankings. Seek expert advice to navigate these issues effectively and enhance your website's overall SEO performance.

Well I think that this is something you need to take seriously. Linking from or to porn would most likely get you into SEO problems. I have heard that there are malicious competitors who do that type of thing. I would advise that you do a Google Disavow for the links coming from these porn sites. Please be in the know that SEO experts warn against over using the tool. If you are not familiar with the Disavow tool. I hope it helps and good luck.

@Fashion22 Someone might have been trying to link your website on porn for negative SEO, you can just list the URLs and disavow them in your search console.

Unsolved learning about links...
Hello! I'm wanting to gain some insight about backlinks, and wondering why a client's digital ads don't count towards our external link count. We don't see the domain listed in the Linking Domains and were just curious. Any information would be appreciated as we're always trying to learn! Thanks!

Identifying bad backlinks
We were recently approached by a SEO agency saying that we had a bunch of very toxic links. They wanted to do the work for us but we've decided to keep costs down and keep it in-house. I've downloaded a list of the links to our site from Google Webmaster Tools and am now manually going through each link to find the links we want removed/disavowed. What is the best way to judge the links? Please note: I have limited resources. I'm using a combination of my gut and SEO Moz's Domain Authority. If the site or directory is irrelevant and has a low Domain Authority I put the link in the remove pile. If I come across a directory that doesn't seem too bad and it has a reasonable Domain Authority I leave the link. Am I doing enough?

Can't find backlinks shown in report.
I ran an advanced report to show me all the backlinks pointing to a domain. When I go to many of the domains listed, I can't find the link. I've searched the pages by anchor text in the browser and nothing comes up. Anyone know why this would be?

Issue with Opesiteexplorer report
Hi, When I pulled backlinks report for my website from opensite explorer. I see the backlinks listing for my homepage is duplicated with index page. Ex. For a external website my homepage www.website.com as well as www.website.com/index.php shows as backlinks. Note: I had given rel=canonical tag to my homepage and index.php is 301 redirection to the homepage. I find this error only to my homepage and I don't find this issue to my inner pages. I would like to know whether this is an issue with opensiteexplorer or a problem with my homepage url. Your answers are appreciated.

Our recently searched Open Site backlink reports are identical to last months across multiple clients. Why is this happening?
When processing the backlink data of our clients for this month (searches done on 28th December), we're finding that the information gathered from Open Site explorer is identical to the data that was found on searches done at the end of November. It appears to have happened for the reports we use for every single client so it must be more than a coincidence. From our perspective, it's almost as if no data has been tracked since the last time we gathered backlink reports. Could you help us get to the bottom of this?
