Unsolved Why is my website Backlinks Lower on Moz than on SEMRush?
-
Hi,
I'm new to Moz and I am trying to find out why my website Birmingham Roofers has 7 backlinks on Moz it has 21 on SEMRush.
However, I read somewhere online in one of your blog post that it crawls in real time.
-
Differences in backlink counts between Moz and SEMrush can be attributed to variations in data sources, crawl frequency, data filters, processing methods, data quality, exclusivity, and reporting lag between these tools. To get a more comprehensive view of backlinks, using multiple tools and focusing on backlink cloaking ads agency quality is advisable. For resolving discrepancies, consider contacting the support teams of Moz and SEMrush for insights into their data collection and reporting methods.

Hi,
I'm new to Moz and I am trying to find out why my website Birmingham Roofers has 7 backlinks on Moz it has 21 on SEMRush.
However, I read somewhere online in one of your blog post that it crawls in real time.Moz and SEMRush are both powerful SEO tools that provide data on backlinks to a website. However, it's important to note that no tool can provide a completely comprehensive list of all the backlinks that exist for a given website. This is because the web is constantly changing, with new links being added and old links being removed all the time.
Moz does crawl the web in real time, which means that its index is updated frequently. However, it's possible that Moz's web crawler hasn't discovered all the backlinks to your website yet. This could be because some of the backlinks are on pages that Moz hasn't crawled yet, or because the links are on pages that Moz doesn't consider to be high-quality enough to include in its index.
Similarly, SEMRush uses its own web crawlers to gather backlink data, and its index may not include all the same links that Moz has discovered. It's also possible that SEMRush is counting some links that Moz doesn't consider to be true backlinks (for example, links from low-quality or spammy websites).
Overall, it's important to use multiple tools and data sources to get a more complete picture of your website's backlink profile. And keep in mind that no tool can provide a completely accurate count of all the backlinks to your website, so it's always a good idea to manually check for backlinks as well.

Hi there!
It is possible that Moz and SEMRush are reporting different numbers of backlinks because they use different data sources. Moz uses its own proprietary data source, which may not be as comprehensive as SEMRush. Additionally, Moz crawls the web in real time, so the backlinks you see on Moz may not match the backlinks you see on SEMRush.
If you want to get a better understanding of your website's backlinks, you can use both Moz and SEMRush together to compare the data and get a more accurate picture.
Hope this helps!

There are a few reasons why the number of backlinks to your website may be different on different tools or platforms. Here are a few potential reasons:
Data sources: Different tools and platforms use different data sources to gather information about backlinks. This means that the backlinks that are included in one tool's database may not be included in another tool's database.
Data refresh frequency: Some tools and platforms refresh their data more frequently than others. This means that a tool that updates its data more frequently may show more recent backlinks than a tool that updates its data less frequently.
Link detection method: Different tools and platforms may use different methods to detect and count backlinks. Some tools may be more comprehensive in detecting backlinks, while others may be more selective.
Different definitions of "backlinks": Some tools and platforms may have different definitions of what counts as a "backlink." For example, some tools may count nofollow links as backlinks, while others may not.
It is not uncommon for different tools to show slightly different numbers for the same metric, such as backlinks. If you are concerned about the discrepancy, you can try cross-referencing the data with other tools or platforms to get a more comprehensive view. It is also a good idea to track your backlinks over time to get a sense of trends and changes, rather than focusing on the exact number at any given point in time.

Like our competitors and like Google themselves, we crawl all pages in an ongoing process, with some being re-crawled more often than others, depending on their seeming importance etc.
The larger number of backlinks in SEMRush vs Moz in this case could simply be a fluke of which pages were higher up the queue in which tool. Or, it could be that they're counting slightly different things - dead links, links on duplicate (canonicalised) pages, etc.
-
@ajegunle Because No tool can offer you a completely reliable result. Tools are used to measure data and provide metrics, but they are not always reliable. The best way to ensure accuracy is to use multiple tools in combination with manual analysis and research.

Moz is a tool and it's normal. Remember we never depend on tools.

So many spam links that I haven't created are reflected in my domain

Should I disavow these links?
Hi all, I have a ski website that I am currently performing a toxic backlink audit on. I have noted that a lot of the links being flagged as toxic/spammy by the tool I am using seem to be the same/similar sites with different URLs. The sites are vaguely related to skiing (relating to helicopter travel options for travelling to ski resorts) but it is concerning me that there are so many of them and they are being flagged as so toxic.

Do you think it is worth disavowing these? Or contacting the owner to ask them to remove the link? I have included an example of some of the links below. https://www.cannes-helicopters.co.uk/index.php?menuopen=21&showcontent=5
https://nice-helicopter.co.uk/index.php?menuopen=21&showcontent=5
https://monaco-helicopter.co.uk/index.php?menuopen=21&showcontent=5 Slightly different site but same favicon icon:

Can Foreign Language Backlinks Be Valuable?
I've done a lot of searching on this subject, but I keep seeing conflicting answers. Are backlinks from foreign language websites valuable? For example, a travel website in English picks up a couple backlinks in Indonesian language (and other languages) from foreign sites that have a DA of 60-70 or higher. The topic is partially related, but the language is totally different. Would those links still be valuable for the English website's DA? Has this ever been answered conclusively? Thanks

Moz Bar Not Showing DA?
Hello all, This could be something to do with our site or the Moz bar on Chrome, I just need to know which it is so if it is our website we can look into it further. On certain sections of our website the Moz bar doesn't display any Domain Authority, not even zero, the bar just isn't present. These types of pages are php which pull in data through a feed daily. Speaking to an SEO expert they said it could be where the page is being updated so frequently, or it could be something more sinister and technically not quite right. Does anyone have any ideas? Is the Moz bar just not working for these types os pages or is it more likely something to do with my site? Ironically it's these pages which I'm having trouble with that are not showing in SERPs! Thanks! 3Foorka

Why does the moz crawl test lists page twice?
Hi, I'm running into an issue where some crawlers list my pages twice, once with a trailing slash, once without. I first saw it on a few pages with screaming frog, then saw it happen on all my pages with the moz crawler. The site is www.kidsandart.org and its on Squarespace. I grepped the sitemap.xml I submitted to google webmaster and got 167 distinct pages, all of them without a trailing slash. Any insights on why this is happening, and how to regard moz crawler results would be appreciated. thanks Tom
