How spammy are lots of links ?
http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/
I have a load of links pointing localised clients to their area at the bottom of the site..
My question is: Does that look really spammy and how to solve it?
Cheers from a stormy UK

RE: Canonical for 80-90% duplicate content help
OK Seen Video thanks Wiqas, understand that Rel is a thorny thing. So I am not going to opt for that Brett thanks!
Suggestion is to no index /no follow until it is made unique and concentrate on the most imortant pages first and then submit those bit by bit. Necessary ?
Is it more beneficial to remove crap pages than to have them there even though they are indexed albeit at a low level.

Canonical for 80-90% duplicate content help
Hi . I seem to spend more time asking questions atm.
I have a site I have revamped www.themorrisagency.co.uk
I am working through sorting out the 80-90% duplicated content that just replaces a spattering of geographical and band styles eg:
http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/band-hire/greater-manchester/ 'manchester' being changed to :
http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/band-hire/oxfordshire/ etc
So I am going through this slow but essential process atm.
I have a main http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/band-hire/ page
My question is:
Would it be sensible to (using Yoast SEO plug in) use a canonical redirect as a temp solution from these dup pages to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/band-hire/
Rather than remove them
What are your thoughts as I am aware that the damage using a rel= could make it worse.
Thanks as always
Daniel

RE: Local seo yoast plug in
I have just finished reading a very long post from another so I think that has answered my questions.
If I am right:
Citation scoring is quite involved and it needs to be done well to get benefit or pay the price.
I am setting my company up for franchising so, until then, no local listings unless they have the addresses and other things to go with it...right?

Local seo yoast plug in
https://yoast.com/wordpress/local-seo/
Anyone used?
Any good?
I have purchased as Yoast seems to be a good all rounder.
I am targetting geographical and my question is:
Is there any seo benefit ?It isnt a requirement of the plug in to add a physical addess ( you can add that it isnt and put a town)
I did a quick test http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/locations/kent-band-hire/
In conjunction with an area page would Mr Google smile with glee or get his big red marker out ?
Cheers as always!

Totally exceeded my expectations, thanks! I have done all these things and now it has sent me on a quest for sorting out the rest of the site.

RE: Blog posts not appearing in Search
OK I get it.
Excellent advice and thank you. I may be pushing your knowledge too far when I ask this:
How should I change it? I have installed Yoast now and I think this is going to be the way forward.

RE: Blog posts not appearing in Search
Great advice. Thanks. I am using the posts as niche 'hire genres'
My strategy so far has been to do this and all has been going fine. Would you suggest the page titles and h1s need the work
I don't get what you mean That makes your page start with a 1%-1.5% optimisation on the main keyprhase thus your page will not rank.
I am going to go back over the blog posts and run them through the MOZ grader and get them checked and also this will help with revitalising old posts?
I really appreciate your comments

Looks like your connection to Moz was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
