Practice Gratitude with your kids. It's an incredibly powerful tool. And when I say practice, I mean create a ritual around it. I like to do it at bedtime or at the dinner table. The question posed to my 11 and 6 year old daughters; 'What are you grateful for in this day?' And explore it. My 11 year old is beginning to journal her gratitude. It's an amazing life tool to approach reflection about what is wonderful, amazing, beautiful in each day, however simple. Sometimes my answer will be as simple as the elderly gentleman's big smile that I received in a mere glance. Sometimes it will be an act of generosity by a friend...Gratitude fosters joy and embraces optimism. It's a way of finding something, even just one thing, in the day that touched you, that illuminated a sense of wonder in the world...
