I've worn a lot of hats in my career: Engineer, Developer, Project Manager, Director of Development, Technical Architect/Strategist and so on. I guess I'd be a CTO if I required stability, but I prefer the risks, challenges and rewards related to the early stages of business development. In 2008, I fled a cushy development career to start a development agency called Arck Interactive with nothing but a vision and my client-facing development chops. Since then, Arck Interactive has enjoyed a consistent 30% annual growth rate and grown to a solid team of 7 of the most talented developers in the industry. We're focused on developing custom applications on the LAMP stack and often work with a framework called Elgg, but we'll handle any product our clients can dream up. In 2013, I started ArckCloud, a managed cloud hosting company with Arck Interactive's lead developer, Billy Gunn. We're focused on creating custom infrastructure solutions for applications and services requiring a high degree of performance and availability. We are not in competition with what we like to call "commodity" hosting and our bottom line isn't exclusively based on economies of scale. We prefer a highly personalized experience with our partners. The business was a natural offshoot of Arck Interactive, given our need to host the applications we develop and measure performance in terms our partners can grok. ArckCloud offers unique value added services that are virtually unheard of in the industry, such as support for application-level issues as well as app-level optimization. I have a knack for leading highly technical, often virtual, teams and advising my partners and clients on current technological trends and advancements. I enjoy working with highly intelligent people who have innovative ideas.
