I want to make photographs that prove the very existence of a love story. Photos that become artifacts and heirlooms, that get found in the future by someone whose breath gets taken away by the heavy and palpable love in them. Photos of people's shoes rarely do this. Intimate, quiet moments, the wind catching loose hair, nervous glances, and raucous laughter usually do the trick. I make those images instead. For most of the day I'm hands off, no redos or set ups, just following a photojournalistic style of catching things in the moment. During portraits I'll see how you two interact, and if it's awkward and you giggle- unsure of what to do with your hands, I'll take some photos of that, but then I'll step in and offer direction. Not posing. Never crazy robot poses. Just ideas and games and jokes really, to help you shake off photo nerves and focus on the person you love most in the world who is in front of you. I'm available for help figuring out timelines, or suggestions on pretty light to get ready in, but I don't want your day to be a photo shoot, I want it to be about bear hugs, and sweet dance moves, and of course, the love.
