Sorry I don't have an answer, but I would love to know one as well. This is a great question. Even when I know and work with a fellow webmaster in the same category, everyone always puts rel=nofollow. I understand doing this in forums or comments, but in article content or other site areas is this helpful or hurtful.

RE: Benefits of having outbound links

What marketing/branding services can you recommend to get more awareness of my site?
I am a programmer, not a marketing or social media genius. It also takes A LOT of time to market your website properly. Are there services that people can recommend that can help get my site out there and known to people more. I am always working on the SEO part and that takes time to improve. Just looking for suggestions.
Thank you!

RE: Does aggregating content hurt your moz / google rank?
I personally never see Pinterest in my search results. I just did a few searches for topics I like and they have awful descriptions, etc. I don't know how many people search goole for Pinterest topics instead of just going to pinterest itself. I do understand what you mean.

RE: Does aggregating content hurt your moz / google rank?
Overall it doesn't seem like it helps it any that is for sure. I will put noindex, nofollow on those pages since it is not my content. Thank you for the links

Does aggregating content hurt your moz / google rank?
I have a news section on my site that I aggregate from multiple RSS feeds. They are stored on my site and I have sitemap that links to them. Is this a negative thing to do? Since its overall duplicate content to another site, it may be a strike against me. Should I just leave it as an updating feed and not keep the articles visible on my site?

RE: Will increased pagerank increase traffic from google?
Thank you for your response. I thought it may still do something since they still have it around and it does update from time to time.

Will increased pagerank increase traffic from google?
I got notified that my domain went from a google pagerank of 3 to 4. When this happens, does google raise me in the searches which can then hopefully get me more traffic, or is it a worthless number. Maybe only google knows

RE: Confusion about forums and canonical links
What do you recommend as far as the indexing. I really don't know, that is why I signed up for this service and learning as I go. Is it better to allow it to index page 1, then noidex, follow the rest. Is it better to not index a forum at all?

Confusion about forums and canonical links
Like many people, I get a lot of alerts about duplicate content, etc. I also don't know if I am hurting my domain authority because of the forum. It is a pretty active forum, so it is important to the site.
So my question is, right now there could be 50 pages like this
<domain>/forum/index.php/topic/6043-new-modular-parisian-restaurant-10243-is-here/
<domain>/forum/index.php/topic/6043-new-modular-parisian-restaurant-10243-is-here/page-1
<domain>/forum/index.php/topic/6043-new-modular-parisian-restaurant-10243-is-here/page-2
<domain>/forum/index.php/topic/6043-new-modular-parisian-restaurant-10243-is-here/page-3
all the way to:
<domain>/forum/index.php/topic/6043-new-modular-parisian-restaurant-10243-is-here/page-50</domain></domain></domain></domain></domain>So right now the rel canonical links are set up just like above, including the page numbers.
I am not sure if that is the best way or not. I really thought that all the of links for that topic should be
<domain>/forum/index.php/topic/6043-new-modular-parisian-restaurant-10243-is-here/that way it would passing "juice" to the main topic/link. </domain>
I do have other links setup for:
link rel='next',link rel='up',link rel='last'Overall is this correct, or is there a better way to do it?
