Hi All, Our hosting provider have their IP address range in Melbourne but offers servers in Sydney or Melbourne..  If we were to take a server in Sydney and an IP address from their Melbourne range (only IP range offered) will the new localisation updates to the Penguin/Possum Algorithms serve less up to our clients in Sydney thinking we are located in Melbourne? Sorry if im confusing.. I know I am 🙂

Hi All, I would love if someone could help and provide some insights on this.  We're a financial institution and have a set of products that we offer. We have recently joined with another brand and will now be offering all our products to their customers. What we are looking to do is have 1 site that masks the content for both sites so it appears as there are 2 seperate brands with different content - in fact we have a main site and then a sister brand that offers the same products. Is there anyway to do this so when someone searches for Credit Card from Brand A it is indexed under Brand A and same when someone searched for Credit Card from Brand B it is indexed under Brand B. The one thing is we would not want to rel:can the pages nor be penalised by googles latest PR algorithm. Hope someone can help! Thanks Dave

Hi All, I hope someone can assist, We have 2 brands that sell the exact same products.  We have a main and an off brand. We just redeveloped the main brands site and now have to do the off brand (was owned by another company and we acquired them, we then changed their products to match ours). Am I able to pretty much clone the site and just change the branding and rel canonical each page to its original on the main brand?  Granted I will lose rankings but will it be something that will affect anything else? I want to do this so it saves us time in updating products on both sites (and avoids errors in incorrect pricing). Would appreciate some guidance with this one 🙂 Cheers Dave

Hi All, We have 2 brands (1 main 1 product as a satellite domain) that we're merging into our main brand.  When doing a 301 redirect - should we redirect everypage of the product satellite to the new site or is 1 main redirect fine? I'm Confusing ....yep. Ill do an E.G www.nike.com & www.air-jordan.com we are now shutting down www.airjordan.com and will be migrating all the content to www.nike.com/air-jordan Just of course there will be other pages like air-jordan.com/order-now .  Should i do a rel can from air-jordan.com/order-now to www.nike.com/air-jordan/order-now ? Or is simply a 301 from www.airjordan.com to www.nike.com/air-jordan sufficient? Cheers!

Hi All, Google has picked up a competitors logo from overseas (same name) and input it with the wikipedia excerpt on the right hand side of search. Hi All, Hope everyone had a nice weekend.  I just stumbled upon one of our competitors who for some reason is all of a sudden defining meta keywords for their product pages. I find this extremely strange since its a definite no-no to define these? They are one of the largest (Chase, Barclays equivalent) in Australia with a large digital team.  Do they know something we don't? Hope someone can help. Cheers, Dave

Hi All, I run a small bank's website and we're currently in the process of organising a site rebuild.  Whilst this will be extensive and have many SEO factors to tick off, my concern now is to get a "realistic" number of keywords each of my pages should be targeting. For instance for my car loan page i've done a review on moz's keyword tool and have picked 3 or 4 good keywords - but the problem is there are realistically 7-8 that would suit. Also this is based on Bing's info only. Can anybody point me in the right direction (or have some google confirmed resource they can quote me) Cheers as always 🙂 Dave

Hi All, Hope everyone is well.  I have a hypothetical and would love some experts advice. For a product like a corporate credit card what's the best URL structure to get the most out of SEO. Assuming the Page Title is Corporate Credit Card (unless this isnt the best idea? However the product is called the "corporate credit card" ).  The reason this is trickier than I thought is because they say the rule of thumb is to use the plural of everything for best SEO.  However I have pluralized the sub page "credit cards". www.website.com.au/products/credit-cards/corporate 2) www.website.com.au/products/credit-cards/corporate-credit-card 3) www.website.com.au/products/credit-cards/corporate-credit-cards If someone were to search for corporate credit cards would option 1&2 show up correctly? For some reason Moz is pulling up different versions of the same URL as confilicting / duplicate page content.  Whats the best way to rectify this or is it something that I should just ignore. /NSW-locations , /NSW-Locations, Nsw-locations Very weird but they are the same page ?!? Hi All, Hope I could get some help. Moz has just finished crawling 1 of our 4 business sites and one of our keywords has dropped 24 places (21st to 45th). Is this the new algorithm at play? (our site is responsive) Cheers

Hi All, Im sure this has been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it.  SEOQuake etc suggest you should define meta keywords.  However I was under the impression that this was not best practice Can anyone confirm what I should do/ is best practice? Cheers Bowey
