RE: Local SEO question
Hi,
Well to the best of my knowledge and experience, a few questions to ask would be:
1. How many websites do you have? If one website, targeting all locations is quite OK and shouldn't be frowned upon. This is part and parcel of having corporate businesses running in different locations.
2. If you have more than one website, do all the is websites have the same content? I hope not, hope you only have a single website. Especially, one designed to help visitors to navigate to different pages of site related to their particular locations, Just a suggestion....If you running an International Business, you could have a website with the following landing page: http://www.airtel.com/
Thank You

I have put in a lot of improvements on my site both onsite and offsite, I was just wondering from a critical point of view, what 5 things would you suggest would require an improvement, that will consequently lead to both, a better user experience and better Rankings on Google? RE: Force youtube video to appear in search?
Hi,
One actually can't "force" Google to rank a site or a video, what would advise is one to EARN the right to be Ranked and Indexed by Google, this will be a more fruitful way of to approach this. The "forcing" attitude is more of a decade ago mentality unlike for one in 2015, of which may put you in contravention of Google's Webmaster guidelines. Leading to your site being DE-indexed from Google.
What would advise is to highly optimize your YouTube page, have links pointing to it, get thousands of people viewing the YouTube Video, create Original Content, even promote the YouTube Video and without a doubt, it will be indexed and ranked by Google.

RE: Multiple distinct businesses owned by Group
Hi Jay,
I believe there is genuinely nothing to be worried about especially as All Websites under Group have their own unique and original content, but be careful to ensure that Google doesn't perceive that you infringing on Google Webmaster Guidelines, by trying to create a network of websites to inflate your Google rankings, e.g through Black-Hat tactics such as Site-wide exchanged links, as this will bring you problems to ALL your websites, and consequently be punished for same. There should be no ramifications if you have followed Google Webmaster Guidelines, find them here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35769?hl=en and here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35769?hl=en
Any links intended to manipulate PageRank or a site's ranking in Google search results may be considered part of a link scheme and a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. This includes any behavior that manipulates links to your site or outgoing links from your site. So kindly go through same guidelines and check if you in contravention of same guidelines.
Thank You

RE: Search Result Discrepancy: Keyword "Dresses" shows international sites in the search results of Google.co.in.
Hi
Google will always give priority to International brands with high DA and PA even in local search results. A few years ago you would have seen local results dominating the top ten rankings but it seems for past few months or so Google has tweaked its algorithm to better rely on International brands such as www.newlook.com with a Domain Authority of 71 and Page Authority of 76! Especially when it comes to GENERAL search terms such as "Dresses".
Try to Google the term www.newlook.com, you will notice you will receive About 90,200,000 results, just to show you what you are up against! (Believe this is the site on top of search results)
This is a pretty powerful site and not easy to displace easily, as its an established "BRAND" with well over 32,664 Back-Links, a healthy link profile, superb original content, Well over 1 Million pages indexed, and thus from Google Perspective , it will have more trust to believe that this site is reputable enough to add more value in its search results, even those targeting Local Search Results.
Would advise to optimize for Keywords such as Indian Dresses, Dresses in India, Buy Indian Dresses, etc. As "Dresses" has a Keyword difficulty Score of 66% in Google.co.in. Which is Highly Competitive:
ONLY Powerful sites with strong pages tend to dominate these results. Links in quantity and quality (at both the domain and page level) are required to earn top rankings.
While a term such as "Buy Indian Dresses" has only a difficulty score of 45% , which as MOZ says is Moderately Competitive:
Search results in this category require high authority domains with well-targeted pages OR lower authority sites with powerful individual pages to achieve top results.
How Do Search Engines Determine Importance?
Currently, the major engines typically interpret importance as popularity – the more popular a site, page or document, the more valuable the information contained therein must be. This assumption has proven fairly successful in practice, as the engines have continued to increase users’ satisfaction by using metrics that interpret popularity.
Popularity and relevance aren’t determined manually. Instead, the engines craft careful, mathematical equations – algorithms – to sort the wheat from the chaff and to then rank the wheat in order of tastiness (or however it is that farmers determine wheat’s value).
These algorithms are often comprised of hundreds of components. In the search marketing field, we often refer to them as “ranking factors” Moz crafted a resource specifically on this subject – Search Engine Ranking Factors. -MOZ

RE: How to add my company in google search search result in bangalore (INDIA)
Hi Jabez,
It could have been helpful to provide your website link we get to analyze it critically. There are a few things you should do to "tell" Google your website is actually targeted for Indian consumers.
Firstly, create a Google Webmaster Account and add your domain, find it here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools .After this change your preferred location (Geo targeting of your domain to India), this will help.
Secondly, get your website listed in local Indian Website Directories, preferably even Bangalore ones. Moreover, get back-links from local Indian websites that are in your industry. To further associate your website with Bangalore, India
Do some serious Local SEO and some technical on-page SEO which mentions Bangalore, India here and there to further tell Google, where your website is targeted. Also take a look at the following: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/370575-tools-for-local-seo , www.localseoguide.com and https://moz.com/local

RE: How often are Moz Domain authority and Page Authority Metrics Refreshed?
Thank You Donna, actually did try to check if it had been previously asked but didn't manage to find the question, thank you
But I was wondering why my 400+ High PR back-links haven't yet been detected by MOZ for past 9+ months, while the same were detected by Google and posted on Google's Webmaster tools. What is your opinion on same? Thank You

Any advise, tips etc? As especially the keyword is not that highly competitive with a Difficulty Score of only 24%, what might I be missing?

How often are Moz Domain authority and Page Authority Metrics Refreshed?
