How can I remove on-page reports from the Summary page?
Hi, I'd like to remove some on-page reports from the Summary page. I've already stopped them from running weekly. Is there a way to remove them completely?

404 Errors & Redirection
Hi, I'm working with someone who recently had two websites redesigned. The old permalink structure consisted of domain/year/month/date/post-name. Their developer changed the new permalink structure to domain/post-name, but apparently he didn't redirect the old URLs to the new ones so we're finding that links from external sites result in 404 errors (once I remove the date in the URL, the links work fine). Each site has 3-4 years worth of blog posts, so there are quite a few that would need to be changed. I was thinking of using the Redirection plugin - would that be the best way to fix this sitewide on both sites?Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Carolina

Active Domain Resale?
Hi, Someone I know has just been offered a domain name by http://activedomainresale.com/. Is anyone familiar with this company? They're offering the non-hyphenated domain name (the person I know has the same domain name except with a hyphen) for a one-time fee of $49, payable through paypal or a credit card. When we contacted customer support by email (they did respond quickly), the email came from a different domain - directpremiumdomains.com. Has anyone had any experience with this? If it's legit, it seems like it could be a good opportunity to get the non-hyphenated URL but I'm concerned that it might be a scam. Thanks in advance! Carolina

Fixing a website redirect situation that resulted in drop in traffic
Hi, I'm trying to help someone fix the following situation: they had a website, www.domain.com, that was generating a steady amount of traffic for three years. They then redesigned the website a couple of months ago, and the website developer redirected the site to domain.com but did not set up analytics on domain.com. We noticed that there was a drop in traffic to www.domain.com but have no idea if domain.com is generating any traffic since analytics wasn't installed. To fix this situation, I was going to find out from the developer if there was a good reason to redirect the site. What would have prompted the developer to do this if www.domain.com had been used already for three years? Then, unless there was a good reason, I would change the redirect back to what it was before - domain.com redirecting to www.domain.com. Presumably this would allow us to regain the traffic to the site www.domain.com that was lost when the redirect was put in place. Does this sound like a reasonable course of action? Is there anything that I'm missing, or anything else that I should do in this situation? Thanks in advance! Carolina

Campaign set-up: root domain vs. subdomain
Hi, I have a question about the proper way to set up a new SEOmoz campaign for a simple 5-page website (home, about, services, blog, contact). If I'm tracking only www.domain.com, does it make a difference if I set it up to track just that subdomain or should I track it at the root domain? Is it better to use the root domain? Are there pros or cons to using one over the other? If the website is expanded in the future, any future pages will most likely be on the same subdomain (e.g., www.domain.com/page). Thanks in advance! Carolina

Questions about Redirects
Hi, I am trying to make sure that I can determine if a site has a 301 redirect set up to redirect the site from domain.com to www.domain.com and am hoping that you can confirm the following for me, or let me know if I am off track: is http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/ a reliable way to check if a 301 redirect is set up? is Screaming Frog SEO Spider a good tool to use to see if a redirect is in place? if I search for site:www.domain.com and site:domain.com, I should only get results for the site being indexed, not for the site that has the 301 redirect set up, right? For example, if www.domain.com is set up to redirect to domain.com, then I should get no search results for site:www.domain.com and only show indexed pages for domain.com. If I search for site:www.domain.com and site:domain.com and get results for both, then does this mean that the redirect is not set up? if a redirect is set up from www.domain.com to domain.com, should the crawl report should only show one page crawled on www.domain.com? if a crawl report shows same number of pages for www.domain.com as for domain.com, does that mean that redirect is not set up properly? Thanks in advance for your help! Carolina

Pages vs. Posts for SEO
Hi, I would like your thoughts about pages vs. posts for SEO. I understand the difference in terms of WP structure and have read the SEOmoz blog post about setting up your site for SEO success (http://www.seomoz.org/blog/setup-wordpress-for-seo-success). However, if you're trying to rank for a particular keyword, it seems that either one could work, from an on-page SEO perspective, as far as title tag, URL, meta description, etc. So how do you decide whether to set up a page vs. a post? What are the pros and cons, from an SEO perspective, about using one vs. the other? Thanks in advance! Carolina

Do SEOmoz private questions get answered?
I submitted a question on September 30 and never received a response. I then followed up on October 6 and had an exchange with the support staff, who first told me that the question would be answered and then a couple of days later told me that they had no record of the question. By chance, I had taken a screen shot showing confirmation that the question had been sent (just something I did to remind myself to follow up if I didn't get a response!), which I sent to them along with the question again. That was four days ago, and I've heard nothing since then - not even an automated email saying that the question was received. Is it common for it to take almost a month before a response is received, and to have to follow up multiple times just to get an answer?

How important are tags on blogs?
Hi, I've always used tags on blogs, but I've noticed that some prominent and reputable blogs (e.g., SEOmoz blog, Problogger, Copyblogger) are no longer using tags at the end of each post. I'm curious about what is the reason for this - any ideas? Thanks in advance, Carolina
