My site ranks for both domain versions but more non-www than www -
Should I make it one or the other?
How do I tell Yahoo to just choose one?
Ehh?
I have multiple product pages on my site - what is better for rankings in your experiance?
If I 301 the pages to 1 correct version of the product page - or if I rel caanonical to the one correct page?
If in open site explorer my 404 pages have a higer page authority - what benefit would i see in rankings if I 301 redirected those pages to the right page. For example www.site.com/widget is a 404 but has authority according to open site explorer - but the page i see in the serps is www.site.com/widget/ with the / at the end. so what benefit would i see in rankings if I 301 redirected those pages to the right page?
Why is this the case? If there is a filter or penalty on my site from yahoo, how do I ask yahoo to correct this?
Can anyone provide insightful optimization tips for GOOGLE and BING product feeds?
How important is it to use the respective SE' taxonomies?
Any other effective tactics apart from data stufffing?
Richard,
Are you saying I should redirect to pages like this /name/
vs
/name
Anybody else out there? I too have found these tools to be unreliable....
Can anyone name some of these tools?
Is there a tool out there that will help you locate your competitors traffic sources?
I would like to see how much of their traffic is coming from SEO related sources - vs. other sources.
I know compete will do this - but they are ungodly expensive.
Thanks!
Thanks! So I dont need to communicate with yahoo on this issue - ? Just change things on my end?
Thanks - ANY idea on what is better for rankings? Let it fly - or put this tag in?
My dmoz description is not as KW rich as my sites normal description. IS there an advantage or disadvantage to either?
If so, How do I prevent google from doing this?
Thanks Guys,
David - do you agree that I should use the code linked to in the post above?
Do I understand right that I should use ONLY the /widgets/ pages? and redirect the /widgets pages?
SEE Your PM for an example.
Thanks, So the search engines do not value one extension over the other...? I thought they might prefer html a little because has all that static code...
Ok,
So my site's urls works like this www.site.com/widgets/
If you go to www.site.com/widgets (without the last / ) you get a 404.
My site did no used to require the last / to load the page but it has over the last year and my rankings have dropped on those pages...
But Yahoo and BING still indexes all my pages without the last / and it some how still loads the page if you go to it from yahoo or bing, but it looks like this in the address bar once you arrive from bing or yahoo.
http://www.site.com/404.asp?404;http://site.com:80/widgets/
How do I fix this?
Should'nt all the engines see those pages the same way with the last / included?
What is the best structure for SEO?
It seems that .html pages do better for the long tail...
My site never shows the www in the yahoo SERPS. I don't do well with ranking in yahoo. Could these two facts be related?
How do I get one canonicalization - preferably the www in yahoo?
