Stephen Kastner is a new media content creator and publisher, working with clients at DesignWise Studios in Door County, Wisconsin, founded by him in 1997.
He graduated from the University of Illinois after a 5-year study that began with a foundation set in the College of Architecture and concluded with a degree in Fine and Applied Arts as a painter and photographer with a minor in Education. In the 70's, he was a successful fine artist. In the 80's, he worked as a photo-journalist for the New York Times papers in Florida and as a street-artist in Paris, France. In the 90's, he learned Unix and became a networking consultant, specializing in medical records and electronic claim submission. He spent 3 years at Marquette University in the millennium shift, developing and administering MU's first online interactive learning environments in both the Colleges of Education and Nursing, launching and publishing more than 15 online courses.
In 2006-07, he lived in Yunnan Province, China and became a filmmaker. He now employs digital photography, videography, graphic design and networked media to create integrated marketing solutions with a focus on merging storytelling and design theory with documentary-style communications in the social Internet landscape.
