I agree with Doug, but w/out knowing what your website looks like or if you have the Yoast plugin. I'm assuming your CMS is wordpress You should double check your scripts (header.php) for the designated theme is pointing where appropriate for your H1, and make the necassary changes.

How do I collect all links through the SEOMoz API?

Yes, I know how to pull url metrics info but want to pull the inbound links only via php script w/out having to go to the OSE page to pull.

any suggestions would be great!

another factor that we need to be aware is "the competitiveness" of the keyword.  In a low competitive market, this has workd for me, but at higher, needs some good quality external links coming in.
