RE: Duplicate Content Indentification Tools
Yes. I also agree that CopyScape is better for plagiarism. I am also reviewing the canonical tags we have in place for these pages. I am trying to view the marked pages from a few different angles to gain a fuller understanding of why indeed they are being marked with 'duplicate content' warnings on our analytics platform and for a deeper understanding of the situation so to create a process of checks for any future warnings.

Duplicate Content Indentification Tools
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good tool that can identify which elements on a page are duplicated content? I use Moz Analytics to determine which pages have the duplicated content on them, but it doesn't say which pieces of text or on-page elements are in fact considered to be duplicate.
Thanks Moz Community in advance!

RE: Schema.org Microdata or Microformats - Which Should We Use
i think the case can be made for any of the three main formats. all have their pros & cons, but Google recommends schema.org microdata
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/99170?hl=en
structured data offers search engines more information about the site. more information they can use to evaluate the relevancy of your site to a query as well as the depth of content for a richer snippet. as far as it negatively affecting SEO, i would say take the same precautions as you would with any other tactic. implement it as cleanly & honestly as possible. if it's done with (perceived) manipulation for the sole purpose of better rankings it can negatively affect the a website's SEO. but that's just a good rule of thumb regardless of the tactic.

RE: Google Site Warnings via Phone?
It definitely sounded suspicious and thought it was a scam myself. Glad to see that others agree.

Google Site Warnings via Phone?
I received a voicemail earlier stating that "there are two issues with your company's current Google listing that we need to discuss with the business owner. it is very important that we talk as soon as possible. press 1 to speak with an agent immediately. press 8 if you have already verified your account information or if you are no longer in business and want to be removed from this list. thank you" that's it. no contact number, no reference to what listing or what type of listing (organic, places, etc.) Checked GWT, GA, and the Gmail - there are no warnings or messages in any of those accounts.
Has anyone else experienced this?

RE: Local SEO Citation Questions
Miriam,
The business does have face to face transactions with its customers. It's a service based business where sales people are based regionally and have then in-home consultations with interested customers. It's a legitimate business and a well-respected national brand. It's not like an Amazon.com where it's solely based on the web and sends products to various parts of the country.
Thanks,
K

RE: Local SEO Citation Questions
Do you believe the Web SEO firm nuance would apply similarly to businesses that are national brands but that do not have stand alone stores? There are sales offices in various regions, but the not a physical location a customer can go to and purchase.
