Matt has worked in the service industry for more than 10 years. He is a native Floridian, though he has lived and worked throughout the country, from South Florida, to New York City, to Michigan and back!

Matt began his career as a sales professional in South Florida, and in 2005 he became a mortgage broker. In 2006, he moved to New York City and worked in the lending division of a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank. Thereafter, he moved to Michigan to attend the University of Michigan where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science. In 2011, he moved to Gainesville to study the practice of law at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Matt joined the Naples community in 2015, where he started his law firm, Goodwin Law P.A.

While at UF, Matt was a member of the Florida Moot Court Team, where he argued fictitious appellate court cases in front of residing federal and state court judges. Matt also worked at the Virgil D. Hawkins Civil Clinic, where he assisted indigent clients with their family law matters. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified County Court Mediator, Matt volunteered at the Alachua County Courthouse where he mediated disputes in small claims court. In 2014, he co-authored two academic papers, one on the subject of mandatory pre-suit mediation and another on a controversial Florida Constitutional Amendment, both were published in peer-reviewed journals.

Matt has extensive experience working with people and enjoys solving complex problems. He always strives to obtain the best outcome for his clients. On the weekends, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, spending time outdoors, running and bike riding. He currently resides in Central Naples with his wife and son.
