Only the mobile version of the site is being indexed
We've got an interesting situation going on at the moment where a recently on-boarded clients site is being indexed and displayed, but it's on the mobile version of the site that is showing in serps. A quick rundown of the situation.
- Retail shopping center with approximately 200 URLS
- Mobile version of the site is www.mydomain.com/m/
- XML sitemap submitted to Google with 202 URLs, 3 URLS indexed
- Doing site:www.mydomain.com in a Google search brings up the home page (desktop version) and then everything else is /m/ versions.
- There is no rel="canonical" on mobile site pages to their desktop counterpart (working on fixing that)
- We have limited CMS access, but developers are open to working with us on whatever is needed.
- Within desktop site source code, there are no "noindex, nofollow, etc" issues on the pages.
- No manual actions, link issues, etc
Has anyone ever encoutnered this before? Any input or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

http://www.campteam.com/: Googlebot can't access your site****July 10, 2013
Over the last 24 hours, Googlebot encountered 13 errors while attempting to connect to your site. Your site's overall connection failure rate is 72.2%.
I've got 23 of these messages going back to 11/12
It tells me that no Robots.txt Fetch issues were encountered, or DNS issues. All errors are related to server connectivity according to Google.

Significant Google crawl errors
We've got a site that continuously like clockwork encounters server errors with when Google crawls it. Since the end of last year it will go a week fine, then it will have two straight weeks of 70%-100% error rate when Google tries to crawl it. During this time you can still put the URL in and go to the site, but spider simulators return a 404 error. Just this morning we had another error message, I did a fetch and resubmit, and magically now it's back. We changed servers on it in Jan to Go Daddy because the previous server (Tronics) kept getting hacked. IIt's built in html so I'm wondering if it's something in the code maybe?

Ranking under a non-geobased, one word phrase
We have a local client who would like to score under the words "locksmith" and "locksmiths". What is the best way to get him to rank organically and not just in Google Plus Local for those keywords?

RE: Content not being spidered
Fantastic. I appreciate all the help. If it's showing up in the search for the content directly than I'm not too concerned. I'm curious though as why every tool I tried gave poor responses. A second tool someone in the office had tried gave a similar response.
Is it just something with the template that reads off for spider simulators?

Content not being spidered
I've got a site with some serious content issues. The builder of the template doesn't understand what I'm asking (they're confusing spidering with indexing). If the page is run through a spider simulator (web confs won't work on this site for some reason) it shows the content is not being seen by Google. The template is Momentum and on Joomla. Most other sites I've found on the web have a similar issue. Basically it's reading the text in the header and footer, but nothing in the body. Any thoughts?

Class C Servers?
Do you recommend using Class C servers to achieve better rankings? Also, who is the best for hosting competitive sites?

RE: Getting Listed in Google Places
Thank you for the information! Very helpful. Do you happen to know if getting a mailbox at a UPS Store would work. When you get a mailbox here, your address is not PO BOX XYZ, they actually give you a physical address (same as their location), and your mailbox number is a Ste. number.
Thanks for any insight!

Getting Listed in Google Places
How do I get listed in Google Places if I don't have a physical address?
EG: I am a medical health insurance company in Colo Springs, Colorado, but service 20 cities?
What is the best procedure? Getting a mailbox at Mailboxes, etc. or UPS Store?
