I'm assuming this isn't an option for you - but Drupal 1.5 is quite old, and most of these issues are easily addressed by core functionality (and if not then by contrib modules) in Drupal 6 (7 is still a bit bleeding edge).

As long as your blog content is available via RSS feed, you can use the method described below to have Facebook auto-magically import your content.
