A quick clarification, for others who might have the same question. You'll keep your MozPoints, but only have access to Q&A if you have over 500 MozPoints or have a paid account. Karl, you've got well over 500 MozPoints, so you'll still be able to use Q&A.
Moz Q&A is closed.
After more than 13 years, and tens of thousands of questions, Moz Q&A closed on 12th December 2024. Whilst we’re not completely removing the content - many posts will still be possible to view - we have locked both new posts and new replies. More details here.

RE: Getting Pages Requiring Login Indexed
I believe newspapers use a feature called "first click free" that enables this to work. I don't know if that will work with your industry regulations or not, however. You may also want to see how sites that deal with adult content, such as liquor sites, have a restriction for viewing let allow indexing.

RE: How to index backlinks in moz?
Use any plugin and notice that external links are nofollowed. Realize that Google has had years to figure out links in comments versus links in content, and is pretty good at discounting comment spam. Know that there are ways to sort this forum by most recent activity, so even comments on posts that are over a year old do get noticed [source: I was the one who heavily pushed for this feature].
One last thing: I'm no longer an employee, and have not been for some time, so I'm able to add a bit of snark that an employee would not. And as soon as your comment is nuked, mine will likely automatically disappear.

RE: Would it be better to Start Over vs doing a Website Migration?
Moz has recently had a little bit of experience with a rebrand, changing domains, changing URLs, implementing redirects, and a variety of other fun things to keep us busy. Ruth Burr, our in-house SEO, is giving a Mozinar that talks in-depth about this migration on Thursday, with a chance for you to ask questions at the end. If you're not able to attend the webinar, we'll have it online for download within two days.
You can reserve your spot at http://moz.com/webinars, as well as see all the past webinars we've done, and what else is scheduled in the future.

RE: Moz is officially demigod-approved!
I would suggest the wikipedia entry be edited to reflect that I'm much more focused on Cupcakes than Gummy Bears.

RE: Huge ranking difference between google and bing
I think of it as why did my mom tell me I couldn't go to the mall when my dad told me I could. Same question, asked of two people with the same goal (to parent their child), yet Mom took into account that I had been playing video games instead of doing homework, while Dad took into account that I had cleaned my room the previous weekend.
The two engines have different indexes and different factors they look for in ranking things. I'd be sure to check in Google Webmaster Tools to see if there are any notices to you there. Also look at who is ranking above you on Google and see if there's a reason you should be above them (do you have higher-quality content? more links? etc).
